Ubuntu Servers :: Submitting Forms Don't Load Next Page?

I'm running into a very strange issue that affects all web apps on my server. This happened after a reboot.
Basically, I can fill out a form, submit it, and then the next page will never load, or it will load after several minutes. To reiterate, this affects every web app on this server, and many of my users are noticing it.
I've already tried restarting Apache and doing a repair of MySQL tables
I can provide server details upon request, but it's a basic LAMP stack running Ubuntu 9.x on a Linode.

As you've probably found out if you searched for this on Google, the new FAFSA page [URL] does not allow any Linux browser access to financial aid forms. The solution I found is to install User Agent Switcher for Firefox [URL] and restart the browser. Right click a toolbar, like the navigation toolbar near the back button, and click 'Customize'. Find the User Agent Switcher icon and drag it to the toolbar. Now you can change the browser's identity by clicking the little globe on the toolbar and select, for example, Internet Explorer 8. You should now be able to get beyond the first page of the new FAFSA website.

I have an existing blog that I migrated to ubuntu server recently. The site was running fine until I transfered it over to ubuntu. I get a 404 error whenever I view pages that is not my index. I believe it has to do with my .htaccess file.
I have enclosed the .htaccess and my default file taken from sites-enabled.

I just upgraded my server from 9.10 to 10.04. I have ISPconfig installed on it and worked like a charm until the upgrade. Now when I point a browser to my site the page just hangs as if it is trying to load it but I never get an error nor does it load the page. I have tried to restart apache using /etc/init.d/apache2 restart in which I receive an fail error:
root@ubuntu:~# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
* Restarting web server apache2 (9Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down

After this I still get the same results when trying to load the page in the browser.
I cannot load anything in the www root or virtual host files.

I have found that APACHE or 'httpd' is installed in my machine. But the problem is I can start or stop the httpd but whenever I load the url http://localhost in Mozilla it shows a page load error.I have done this ,
$ /etc/init.d/httpd start
then this
$ /etc/init.d/httpd graceful

I have apache httpd server on my Fedora 10I got 2 problems:First : I copied the web page files to its Document Root <var/www/html> & Disabled the default web page. But when I visit http:/localhost ，it shows up the list of files in <var/www/html> as if a ftp server browsed in web page. So how can I set http://localhost load my default web page index.html ?Second :I want to set up a web server on Internet through my router . I applied for DDNS account & input it into router correctly . I set virtual host in server to redirect any access from port 80 to 192.168.1.2:80 in LAN . Just for in case , I also download and running the DDNS software & installed it on PC 192.168.1.2 in LAN . My DDNS provider is oray.cn . It's a Chinese server provider . I don't think there is anything wrong with oray.cn . But if you need its information just visit oray.cn (Google can translate it for you). So I want to know did I miss something to set up a web server in this kind of situation

I reinstalled fedora the other day, and it's been working just fine, apart from the internet. It shows that I have a full connection with the wireless network, but it's really difficult to actually load a page. 80% of the time it just fails and shows "Page Load Error". It's really frustrating because it is connected to the internet. In fact, the icon in the address bar even loads from the site I try to access, but websites just will not load.
I've tested my wireless internet with another laptop which is running vista, and it works perfectly on that. Also, I'm running Fedora 10 on an Acer Extensa laptop.

i just tried opening facebook in firefox on windows and it works fine. On Firefox in ubuntu on the other hand the connection resets while the page is loading every time. I think my laptop/browser is blocking the connection to facebook but since I'm new to ubuntu i don't really know how to solve this

I updated ubuntu kernal to latest one, forgot the numbers already. When I restart, it hangs while loading kernal. I usually can choose which kernal to load, but now the 'choosing page' can't even load already.

Excuse me if such thread exists already, i carefully searched the forum so i wont create a second one concerning the following problem:So i downloaded (on my new fresh Fujitsu SIEMENS Li3710 running Vista the Ubuntu 9.04 distro.. im a complete Linux noob, but i wanted to give it a second try) so i downloaded it and burned it on the fast laptop, so there wont be any errors caused by low memory during burning I installed and then i went to the Ubuntu desktop - i had all drivers installed. Everything but Amarok sound worked, i turned off my laptop and went doing my job.. The next time i started up my laptop and went on the desktop .. a tradition is to browse the web, so i did that and i couldnt load a single page, except pages with direct IPs i had Skype working just fine and i had a friend there running SuSe and asked him for help. We identified it as a DNS problem, but because of my noobness i couldnt deal with it and i HAD TO switch back to windows, wich i regret so much.
I know that im a noob, but if i have an internet running at its best i can look at forums and resolve my other issues, so im asking for a screenshots on DNS settings so i can fix it the next time i install Ubuntu.Also! I was using cable via PPPoE (and the only terminal command i know is "sudo pppoeconf" ), now im with router, connecting my laptop directly via WI-FI, will i have the same problem and will i have to make settings so i can connect to my router? Because back then i tried to connect to wireless networks and the ones i could connect on XP/Vista/7 i simply couldnt connect on Ubuntu...I really want some real PC knowledge and to use Linux

I have been having a couple of problems with various programs, and though I have read some threads that addressed the issues, they haven't solved myproblems.Keeping in mind for this, I have the 10.04 lucid version of Ubuntu.Now, a few days ago, Transmission decided to stop downloading songs. Transmission says that a port is closed, and I'm not entirely sure that that is the problem. Still, I attempted to go into my modem, and it didn't work. The page wouldn't load. I tried to get into my firewall, and I couldn't figure out how. A friend of mine who also has Ubuntu gave his Transmission a try, and it worked. When he checked the port, it also said that it was closed. So, I have no idea what the problem could be.Second, I have a Creative Zen Mosaic EZ300, and have been trying to get software to use it on my computer. I can sync to it, and add songs, but I can't delete or edit anything. I tried gnome, but it didn't recognize the player.

I am writing a script that is used to submit a package to testflight from my build system. In order to make the presentation as clear as possible I would like to include some basic HTML in the note section, however, using a < or > causes an error in curl. I have tried different variations of quoting and escaping but have not yet been able to find the solution.

I just downloaded and installed Ubuntu a few days ago (on my Windows Vista Laptop), played around with it, did some trouble shooting (got my wifi card working!)... and am generally enjoying it.However, I am having issues loading my Yahoo Mail. I am using the newest version of Opera (which I also run on windows), but have tried Firefox as well. I am having absolutely no issues with Yahoo mail when I use Windows (in Opera, firefox, chrome, and IE), but can not get it to load at all with Ubuntu. Basically I can get to the Yahoo home page no problem, and can access any of the links etc., except for Mail. When I click it, I just get an error page (as if there was no Internet connection). I have not had problems with any other sites.I'm thinking its some kind of scripting/application conflict, but like I said this whole Linux thing is brand new to me. Have only ever really used Windows in the past.I'm hoping to get these minor issues hashed out, and eventually just drop Windows out of my reality.

I have installed phpMyAdmin on Fedora 11 using YUM, along with MySQL, PHP and Apache. The web and database servers are operating fine. However, when loading the web page [URL]... a box appears asking for a username and password. I have tried many combination's including the root with no success. I've just installed a fresh copy of 11.4 and the updates are driving me crazy. My internet connection is up, but the download stops and goes, and when I try using firefox, it takes a minute to even start to load any page. I have the system monitor up and it is telling me that the network is not receiving anything except for these bursts of data aprox. every 30 seconds.

Since I upgraded to 11.04 on my Server edition I have been experiencing some problems with my FTP-server and Apache. Apache just says that the page is "forbidden" if I'm not logged in on the server, which means I need to go to the server and physically log in or I can do it trough ssh but then when I close my ssh client on my work computer the page is "forbidden" again. And I cant seem to reach the FTP-server from an external address so I need to be in the network to access it.
It says something like:

I have just exported 3 png files out of gimp for a html document I'm working on right now, and they are all almost the same, except I need each to load when the user does something. So the first image will display on the page, and when a user puts their cursor over it, then it will load image 2. When they press it, it loads image 3.

I installed ubu server 9.10 on my desktop, then I tried to install webmin and I was able to do that too. When I try to connect to webmin I get "page cannot be displayed" so I thought let's change the port...I changed to port 443 as recommended on the website.
Here is the miniserv.conf:
port=443
addtype_cgi=internal/cgi
realm=Webmin Server
logfile=/var/webmin/miniserv.log
errorlog=/var/webmin/miniserv.error
pidfile=/var/webmin/miniserv.pid
logtime=168 .....
Now I tried connecting using the ip address and the hostname. I also tried with http and https
https://hostname.com:10000 and 443 ... no go.

when I try to view my root directory of my website.if I go to URL... on my computer, it always loads the "It Works!" page. I deleted the original index.html page, and even replaced it - but if I go to URL... it KEEPS coming up.If I specify the page I want to view, ie.URl... it loads the right file.Is there a setting in the conf file that Im missing?

My webserver accesses a backend mySQL server using CentOS5
The last week, I have been getting a "page Load Error" on my web server whilst others told me they are getting a "broken link" error when they try to access my web site. It has been working fine for the last 12 months until last week.
ADSL, modem and router okay according to service provider (verizon)
I can ping my IP address and my domain name.
# netstat -tap
shows http and https both processes running.
# service httpd restart
no issues
I shut down firewall and tried again, but got the same "page load error".

I recently built a server from an old box using Ubuntu Server 9.10. This is my first server and I am very new to the server world.I have an Epson Stylus NX400 connected via USB. I have managed to configure it to the point where I can see the printer listed on my client laptop and can print a test page. However, I cannot print anything else. When I access the job history through the CUPS adminI can see that the print jobs were recognized and marked as complete, even though the printer never physically engaged.

I installed lighttpd to be able to view cgi files that display the status of my UPS. For the most part is has worked w/o incident i.e. until recently when the UPS battery failed on my APC backups xs 1500 lcd. I could not view the multimon.cgi file via the localhost or 127.0.0.1 url e.g.: [URL]... I'd get 404 page not found message. After checking links here and on the web, I tried: [URL]... The page is displayed. From this discovery, I'm not sure that this is a web server configuration or a network host configuration issue or what. I'm running Lucid with all updates, no mods to lighttpd except I added the mod_fastcgi line to the lighttpd.conf file
