I have totally exhausted my search to find IPBlock. I use it on my other Ubuntu machines but for some strange reason I cannot find it anywhere for my Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick. I know where the iplist is but not the actual file IPBlock download
View 2 RepliesDoes anyone know if IIPBlock does it's operation before IPTables completes or after? I'm using a KVM as a Router and GuideDog is Forwarding all HTTP/HTTPS to my KVM Web Server. When looking at my web access.log I see CHINA doing it's stuff, but IPBlock is not blocking that IP (58.218.199.147) on the KVM Router.Before doing the KVM Router and just receiving HTTP to mu KVM Web Server, I always had logs of CHINA, but now I don't. So I'm assuming GuideDog is rendering IPBlock useless.Can anyone let me know if your able to connect to my web server at I would like to check even if this setup is working. Because I have a seperate access-thegardenofedenblessing.log for my domain then I do for my localhost (access.log) and CHINA is showing up on my localhost log.

So I have installed IPBlock and was having issues with updating the lists so i removed them, re-added them and still cannot. I can't import lists from URL's either without getting the same error. Kinda seeming like a waste of time right now...

What I need to do is find out what the IP address is after "ExternalHostName ="
After that I will need to compare that IP to whatismyip and if it's different then replace it but that is easy to do with sed. I just can't figure this simple hurdle out.

1) I am trying to get Liferea to download podcasts that I subscribe to. I've set my download folder in preferences, and I've set the feed to automatically download enclosures in the advanced tab of the feed folder. Nothing is downloading, why?
2) I want the 'Unread' search folder to display all feeds from all subscriptions (read or unread) apart from those in the Podcast folder I've created. How do I do this?
3) I read an article in a feed and delete the article. When the feed updates, the article returns - how do I keep it deleted?
I recently installed Ubuntu 11.04 on a clean hard drive. Everything went well and I ended up giving /home it's own partition. After a while I figured I would dual boot with windows 7 and my mbr got overwritten. Now after this happened I googles how to fix it and found the same answer almost everywhere. It had me go into terminal and run grub an find my partition and setup grub again. All of this was done off a livecd. The only problem was that my livecd didn't have the grub shell installed. Everytime I ran "sudo grub" it would say "sudo: grub: command not found" I tried to install it but it kept giving me errors and I only once actually got into grub, but it could not find my partition. Whenever I typed "find /boot/grub/stage1" it said directory does not exist. So I attempted to fix it my own way. I installed another version of ubuntu along Sid the first. This allowed me to triple boot between the two versions of ubuntu and windows 7. So I booted into my original ubuntu (11.04) and deleted the older version of ubuntu with gparted. I deleted the partition and restarted, but when I restarted I got an error saying that grub could not find the partition. I can boot into my original ubuntu through the ultimate boot cd but it is a round a bout way of doing it. Is there anyway I can set grub to search for ubuntu 11.04 on startup instead of the deleted version of ubuntu?

I have tried shredding all the files in the .wine directory, removing every package that have anything with wine in their name in synaptic, and sudo aptitude purge wine.
Im running ubuntu 10.04 and I cannot get ipblock to update its lists. I've checked the ipblock.lists and the urls listed are working. When I go to update it gives me a different error code each time for the lists. Ipblock will load up and work but not with updated lists,
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust as the title says. Why am I required to input my user password to launch this program? I am using 10.04 Ubuntu and this requirement does kind of annoy me. I like making a second account that can admin the system, and my main account has the admin option disabled in the 'Users & Groups'. I read it's secure to do this, but I see other downsides. Firestarter too requires a password to load it's GUI. Is there any work around because I don't like leaving admin privileges enabled especially when I'm not at the computer.

And say root partition / is mounted on /dev/sda5; however, let's say I also have 250GB partitions (/dev/sda6, /dev/sda7) mounted in /media - AND another location that I cannot currently remember. Say, also, that I know the file I'm looking for is on /dev/sda5.
Obviously, the above command will also descend in /media and that other directory which represent the big partitions, wasting time in looking for the file in the wrong place.
Is there a way to instruct find (or other command) to search only / on /dev/sda5, and NOT to descend to directories if they are on different partitions ?

Dropbox folder is placed in /home/myusr/
All other subcontent folders in the home directory does show up in gnome search,
