Debian :: RIPIT Can't Find The Config File?

Jan 20, 2011

I've installed RIPIT 3.6.0-1 for Lenny and have been following this tutorial to define a config file that saves all my options and which I can call every time I want to rip a CD [URL]

Following that tutorial I copied the config file in etc/ripit/config to the new director ~/.ripit/config. The new directory and file exist as I can see them when I do ls -a and can edit the new config file.

However when I type the command ripit all I get is the error message No config file found!

General :: Find Text After String Search In File

Aug 2, 2011

I have a file called Regions.ini that looks like this:

Code:
[Granite]
RegionUUID = 54ab7cd2-0e70-49b7-8020-8dbeb84c08d0
Location = 9991,10007
InternalAddress = 0.0.0.0
InternalPort = 9001
AllowAlternatePorts = False
ExternalHostName = 71.171.21.9

[Syenite]
RegionUUID = 8fc56fdd-0afd-4074-9432-0ae8f42b799f
Location = 9992,10007
InternalAddress = 0.0.0.0
InternalPort = 9000
AllowAlternatePorts = False
ExternalHostName = 71.171.21.9
What I need to do is find out what the IP address is after "ExternalHostName ="

After that I will need to compare that IP to whatismyip and if it's different then replace it but that is easy to do with sed. I just can't figure this simple hurdle out.

Debian Installation :: Install Lenny Via Hyper-V - Can Not Find My Network Card

Sep 15, 2010

I am trying to install Debian Lenny via Hyper-V. I get to the point where it asks for the network card. For some reason it can not find my network card. I have a RealTek (RTL8112L PCIe Gigabit LAN controller featuring AI NET 2 built on motherboard).

For some reason it doesn't see it. My issue is if I continue without the network how am I getting the drivers? Unfortunately Hyper-V doesn't support USB. I guess I can try to burn to CD but not looking to waste a cd for 480k and not sure that will work as I only see a auto.sh and a couple other files under scr directory. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. This is a fairly new Motherboard/NIC so I do not understand why it isn't recognized. I know it cant have everything but Realtek is a fairly common nic.

Debian :: 8GB RAM - Can't Find Reference To CONFIG_HIGHMEM In /boot/config-2.6.32-5-amd64

Jul 21, 2011

Recently upgraded to 8GB RAM. BIOS shows 8GB, lshw shows 8GB (2 x4GB), Applications > System Tools > System Monitor > System shows 3.7GB. After 2 days of forum hunting I cannot find a way to check whether the machine is using all 8GB and, if not, how to make it do so. I have found a few postings about using the "bigmem" build but these seem to be for the 32-bit builds as well as a few postings saying that the amd64 build uses bigmem/highmem by default. I can't find any reference to CONFIG_HIGHMEM in /boot/config-2.6.32-5-amd64 and I don't have a menu.lst in /boot/grub to change to a "bigmem" type build.

Ubuntu :: Lib Packages Not Found In Config Search Path

Aug 16, 2011

The error "libnsgif is not installed" appeared when installing libnsbmp.
The error "libpng is not installed" appearded when installing libpnf.
...
I installed all that I was asked to install. However, when I was installing libcss, it said that "Package libparserutils was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing 'libparserutils.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable". I have already installed libparsercutils but not in the /usr/lib dir.

What should I do to continue my installation? And anyone could tell me what are those lib stuff? I installed zlib with the apt-get install command.Can I get other lib stuff with the same command?

General :: Debian Lenny : How To Install Xfce 4.6 Instead Of Lenny's 4.4

Dec 14, 2009

i was trying to use gnome and kde but i don't like them. I tried xfce and it seem to fit my needs but.My computer is used to be powered on for a weeks. While time passes, a process xfdesktop begin to use more and more memory and to free RAM i need to log out and log in again.

I tried squeeze yesterday on my virtual machine and it has 4.6 and seem not to have that bug, RAM usage is static(yes it still works when i write this and have memory usage 34492k, which is not changing for an hours of usage already), also 4.6 is MUCH better than 4.4.

i already tried adding squeeze to "sources.list" but i can see too many dependencies which should be upgraded if i install 4.6, i'm beginning to afraid it can crash entire GUI(or entire system, i can see there is libc6 required to be updated).

Debian Configuration :: How To Import VPN Config Files With No File Extension

Feb 10, 2016

I've downloaded configuration files for my VPN, Kovurt, and they don't have a .ovpn file extension. Further, when I tried to enter the information manually (using this guide), I saw that the files only include the <ca> tags, and no <cert>, <key> or <tls-auth> tags.

Here is the content of one of the config files, simply named 'Tokyo' with no extension. (adding .ovpn didn't work either):

Code: Select allclient
dev tun
proto udp
remote 50.31.255.86 443
resolv-retry infinite
nobind

[Code] ....

I have an open ticket with Kovurt asking for the other info, but I know already that they don't have much in the way of documentation or support for Linux.
