Well another new bug since the 11.4 upgrade is the SEND LINK in Firefox browser doesn't open an email anymore with link to send.
I was looking for live link to download ubuntu mobile but unfortunately I don't find anything... Can someone send me a link for download and a link with the installation instructions ?? All the links that I found are dead.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed firefox 3.6 from the firefox-stable ppa repository and I noticed that the location bar autocomplete stops working after opening an external link (e.g. clicking a link in evolution or empathy). The problem still occurs when starting firefox in safemode, so it doesn't appear to be related to a misbehaving extension. The problem is only fixed with a browser restart or when I open and then close 'show all history'.

The server is setup with three NICs: eth0 (WAN1), eth1 (WAN2), and eth2 (LAN).The server addresses clients with an IP range of 10.0.30.1 - 10.0.30.254. Some clients will be set with reservations so they fall into the 10.0.40.1 - 254 range.
What I want to do is have any outgoing external traffic coming from the first range (10.0.30.0) to use WAN link 1, and any outgoing external traffic coming from the second range (10.0.40.0) to use WAN link 2.
I have sort of got something working. I have created a bare minimum transparent squid3 setup on port 3128, and set the iptables as follows:

I can get internet access, however obviously it only goes through one WAN link. It also seems slower than it should be. I experimented with tcp_outgoing_address, but seemed to not be my friend.
Since I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.8, when I click on a link in Thunderbird 3.1.1, nothing happens!! Right-clicking on a link and selecting "Open Link in Browser" does not work either. Any idea what might be the cause of this annoying problem?

I have this little problem with my keyboard. When in Firefox, I have to ctrl+click a link about three times before there is any reaction and a new tab is opened with that link. There is not much chance that there is some physical impediment in the keyboard because all of my other keyboard shortcuts involving ctrl work fine, and I have disassembled and cleaned the keyboard on my netbook (eeepc 1008ha).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently installed F13 with Thunderbird 3.0.4 and Firefox 3.6.3 and have noticed that when I click on an embedded web link in a message that it no longer switches app windows to FireFox. On F12 if I did the above the focus would switch to Firefox once a new tab was opened and the site was accessed. Now the focus remains on the message and the tab for Firefox on the bottom panel just flashes. Is there a way to get the old behaviour back? I've checked both apps preferences as well as gnome's preferred apps but nothing changes. I am using the same profile folders from F12 as well as all of my app settings in /home.

I am running KDE 3.5 Hardy Ubuntu and have encountered an odd window switch to new window view problem. When I click to open a web link in any Thunderbird email it will open Firefox but it stays on the current Thunderbird window. I have to manually click the FF on the task bar to switch and view it. Maybe it's a focus issue....not sure what focus really means. It also seems to do the same with other programs too.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running ubuntu maverick and i'm having issues with some things.First off, Alt+F2 no longer opens the Run Dialog. I have checked the keyboard shortcuts and settings and re-entered the command but it still doesn't work. I also checked the compiz settings for gnome compatibility. The odd thing is that all of my other Function key shortcuts work, just not Alt+F2 Not sure what else to try.
Next, I am not able to open Network in Places. I click it, then I get a loading icon for half a second then nothing opens. Also, when I click Places > Connect to Server, the only option that I have is custom location. The issue with this is that I used to have several other options like FTP, SSH, Windows Share, etc.
I have just installed Ubuntu 9.10 on an Acer TravelMate 290E. I've got internet connection through the Ehternet Cable, but when I plug in the D-Link WLAN USB device, although the system recognises it, it is disconnected. How can I connect the WLAN USB device adn get it to work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've upgraded to Maverick but now I cannot get my wireless card working. In Lucid it didn't work out of the box, but worked perfectly by wrapping the Windows driver with ndiswrapper.
I noticed when I installed Maverick that wireless is enabled in Network-Manager and it gives me the option to create a wireless network or connect to a hidden network but it's not discovering/showing any of the wireless networks in range! So it seems as though the card is being recognized but the driver isn't working fully...? I tried wrapping the windows drivers, but that didn't change the situation at all.

In the summer a few months back, I managed to get my ancient HP Laserjet 6L printer working via a wired D-Link-DPR 1061 print server and Netgear network switch. This was even though it was not on the print server's compatibility list. A couple of months later it stopped printing and I have not been able to get it going again since.
The print server has one parallel port (used by the 6L) and a couple of USB ports which I don't use.
I have been going through the Ubuntu add printer wizard. The print server can connect via an IP address. I am using its device URI: lpd://ip address/dlk-portname
I have tried all 5 HP laserjet 6L drivers that come with Ubuntu without success. I have the foomatic/ljet4 [en] currently selected. When I try to print a test page nothing is printed and when I do a print self test I get this message:
CUPS SERVER ERROR There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-document-format-not-supported'.
By, the way I also have a Windows 7 PC and managed to get the 6L working with same print server using the XP drivers, but every so often it stops working. A reinstall gets it going again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running uShare on my Linux 10.4.2 box to stream videos from my computer to my Xbox via Wifi. As the Xbox360 can only handle AVI files I'm trying to write a script that traverses through all my media at;
/media/Media/
Looking for AVI's and then linking to them symbolically into a directory called;
/media/Media/Xbox360/
I plan to set the script up as a cron job so it will constantly keep up to date. This is the script so far;

and the only file being created is .DS_Store, I think. One other caveat I've not yet been able to get my head round, is that from time to time I'll convert videos from say MKV using mencoder to AVI's and plonk them in the /media/Media/Xbox360 folder, and so when the script traverses all my media folders I need to get it to not link to files that are already in that /media/Media/Xbox360 folder.
I've got a Dell precision with Kubuntu 9.10. Wifi worked fine on that machine for months, but stopped working last week. I don't know what happened, but I recently did an "apt-get dist-upgrade". That might have something to do with it.
When I boot in Windows, wifi works fine.

I've been using Ubuntu 11.04 for a couple of weeks now, and I can't seem to get notify-send to work correctly (yes, I did install libnotify-bin)
Yesterday, I reinstalled Ubuntu 11.04 and the first thing I did was install libnotify-bin to try notify-send on a fresh install.
It worked fine after the reinstallation until I did sudo apt-get upgrade. Immediately after the updates finished, I tried notify-send again and it failed to display a notification.
No error messages, command exits correctly, no indication of anything going wrong except no notification pops up.
I'm on a lenovo thinkpad t420, 64bit ubuntu.
