Feb 10, 2010

I recently installed Deluge 1.2.0 from the following PPA:[URL]I using this on two different Linux computers. One is running Linux Mint 8 and the other is running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. The first time on either computer when I enable WebUI in the Deluge GUI it works fine. However if I ever disable it in plugins section I am subsequently unable to re-enable it (doesn't appear in the side panel again). Rebooting or reinstalling Deluge seems to have no effect. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Ubuntu Networking :: Enable A Wifi Antenna, Dell Latitude 13 / Vostro 13?

Aug 7, 2010

Have an odd problem on a Dell Latitude 13 w/ a Intel WiFi 5100 card. The wifi antenna is disabled on startup into Ubuntu 10.04/64-bit. There's no hardware enable/disable that I can find.I have tried "sudo ifconfig wlan0 up" to enable it, the light for the wifi antenna comes on, but still no luck.I know the wifi works in Ubuntu, because if i load windows first, then reset into Ubuntu, once in a while it works just fine.

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Use The Wifi On 9.10

Mar 27, 2010

I have tried installing the original CD os 8.04 (Dell system restore) again hoping that everything was on there in order to get me connected to wifi again. Connecting to wifi seems to be the main issue that people have trouble with.I feel that I have 3 options now:

1. Sell the laptop (it is a month old!)
2. Pay for support
3. Put windows on it

It is a shame as I liked Ubuntu 9.10

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Connect To Port / Enable This?

Mar 22, 2011

I have setup an OpenVPN server on my server box, it had been working perfectly until today. It operates on port 1194 which I am now unable to connect to (tried telnet). I have checked all the firewall rules and they still allow the port and I have also checked to ensure that OpenVPN is still listening to the port, which it's not but I have tried restarting the service and the box which dosent make any difference. The only thing that has changed is that yesterday I installed Openfire, could this have broken something?

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Connect To Using Wired Internet Connection / Enable This?

Jan 11, 2010

I recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 64-bit laptop. Before that I used Windows7. In Windows, the internet connection worked perfectly well. But after installing Ubuntu, I am unable to connect to the internet. The network-manager applet finally says that "You are disconnected". When I do the "ifconfig", I got no IP address.

So, I installed Ubuntu 9.04 in the same system. But the problem persists.

I gone through many posts in this forum but nothing was useful.

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Connect To Specific OpenSSH Daemon / Enable This?

May 19, 2011

I have this very weird problem: I'm not able to SSH to 1 specific server on the web. I can access everything, but not that specific server.

When I try to SSH, I get this code...

When I reboot to Windows, I can SSH using Cygwin. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid and OpenSSH client 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu6.
I tried sniffing the network with Wireshark, but I cannot understand why the TCP connection cannot be set up. I'm sure it's an Ubuntu problem as I'm able to connect to that server on the same machine, but different OS.

Ubuntu Networking :: Unable To Turn Wifi On After Windows Hibernate

Sep 1, 2011

I own an Acer Aspire 5552g. I have installed 2 systems on it: Windows 7 and ubuntu 10.10. Everything works fine except wifi. There is a lot of threads connected to this topic, but none has solved my problem yet. The problem occurs when I hibernate Windows and then load ubuntu - I get unable to turn wifi on. As rfkill says - it is hard blocked. It wouldn't be a problem if i had a hard switch for wifi. but I only have fn+F3 for that, which somehow fails to work in my situation.

Code:

igor@igor-Aspire-5552G:~$ rfkill list
1: phy1: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes

If I reboot Windows and then start ubuntu - everything's fine and working. fn+F3 turns wifi on and off as expected. I will provide some more info: when wifi's working:

Code:

igor@igor-Aspire-5552G:/sys/class/rfkill/rfkill1$ cat state

1 when it doesn't:

Code:

igor@igor-Aspire-5552G:/sys/class/rfkill/rfkill1$ cat state

2 some additional info:

Code:

igor@igor-Aspire-5552G:/$ lspci -nn

Networking :: Unable To Authenticate My WiFi Connection / Why Is So?

Jan 23, 2011

I switched to the b43xx (lp-phy) driver, as opposed to the broadcom STA driver which I previously had. I have dell 8312b/g lp-phy(mini) wireless card.

I have the wireless detection, but when I attempt to connect to Fios WiFi it continuously asks for my WEP (I have the correct WEP and I have typed it in correctly) and fails to connect.

I've read about the driver and firmware on linuxwireless and kernel.wireless. org.

http://pastebin.com/w44Xbgw3 (lspci -nnk output)
http://pastebin.com/C5BDhgZ9 (iwconfig output - this printed while trying to access the network)

Why is this happening? How can I fix this?

Ubuntu Networking :: Connected To WiFi At Home - Unable To Connect At Work?

Sep 7, 2010

I have a Dell Mini 10v with a fresh install of latest Ubuntu Netbook Edition. I have enabled proprietary drivers in order to get the WiFi card to work and managed to connect at home, starbucks etc. Good stuff.

For some reason I can detect but not connect to the WiFi at work - I get prompted for the pword and after entering it the WiFi indicater will pulse for a while only to return to the pword prompt. yes, I have the right pword and can connect my iPhone and other laptops. I am really puzzled by this and really need to get on the WiFi at work - wired connection works.

my colleague has the same dell model with windows 7 installed and is able to connect fine - I really don't want that @@@@ installed just to get WiFi. I know password entry error is the obvious solution but I connect new windows devices to it routinely and had other people try too.

4- lsusb returns:

5- lsmod returns:

6- iwlist wlan0 scanning detects wifi networks without problems.

7- relevant dmesg entries:

8- wpa_supplicant.log

I've tried many suggestions from this forum about RT3090 or RT2800, but none worked :-(none seemed to be close to my problem:

Most of them relates to interface not seen, wifi networks not detected, system freeze.
