I am running 3 guest machines in KVM and also I have bridged the host machine so that I would be able to get the network access on the guest machines and I am getting it also, but the problem is that I am not able to ssh one guest machine from another guest machine moreover I am able to ssh the host machine from any of the guest machine.

One is running Linux Mint 8 and the other is running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. The first time on either computer when I enable WebUI in the Deluge GUI it works fine. However if I ever disable it in plugins section I am subsequently unable to re-enable it (doesn't appear in the side panel again). Rebooting or reinstalling Deluge seems to have no effect.Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been unable to load web pages, hosted on my Ubuntu Guest in Apache, from my OSX Host. In fact, I can no longer even ping the Guest OS from the Host. In the past, when I did ifconfig on the Guest, I got an IP of 10.0.1.n. Now I'm getting 10.0.2.15--the default NAT Address. The thing is, I didn't change any settings recently. What I did do is run software update for OSX, Ubuntu, and updated VirtBox.

why I can no longer access my Guest OS from my Host? I spent hours on this last night, to no avail. What would cause the Guest IP to change from 10.0.1.n to 10.0.2.15? As I say, I manually made no config changes.

I have recently installed 11.04 on my ASUS EEEPC 900 and am having problems with getting the wifi enabled and able to pick up any signal. It has a broadcom device in there and although I have downloaded the patch that should be able to fix it Im unable to install it.

I'm trying to establish a connection to my ISP which uses PPTP protocol and a VPN server. The deivce I got from my ISP is a modem, not a router. The problem is my computer is unable to communicate with the ISP VPN server.

I reported recently that I have a problem connecting to a Windows network, and someone suggested upgrading to Ubuntu 10.4 I have done, and still have the problem.
The error message I get is: "Unable to mount location. Failed to retrieve share list from server".
I have setup an OpenVPN server on my server box, it had been working perfectly until today. It operates on port 1194 which I am now unable to connect to (tried telnet). I have checked all the firewall rules and they still allow the port and I have also checked to ensure that OpenVPN is still listening to the port, which it's not but I have tried restarting the service and the box which dosent make any difference. The only thing that has changed is that yesterday I installed Openfire, could this have broken something?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 64-bit laptop. Before that I used Windows7. In Windows, the internet connection worked perfectly well. But after installing Ubuntu, I am unable to connect to the internet. The network-manager applet finally says that "You are disconnected". When I do the "ifconfig", I got no IP address.
So, I installed Ubuntu 9.04 in the same system. But the problem persists.
I gone through many posts in this forum but nothing was useful.
I have an external hard drive connected to my router. From Windows I can access it, but from Ubuntu I can see the hard drive, but when I try to access, I'm asked for a password. However my network does not have a password neither the hard drive.
What must I do?
I'm running ubuntu 9.10 on my desktop.Wireless networks appear on the dropdown menu but when I try to connect to my home network the authentication box appears, after typing my password the box disappears and it continues to connect but nothing happens and after a while the authentication box appears again. When I reboot to Windows, I can SSH using Cygwin. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid and OpenSSH client 1:5.3p1-3ubuntu6.
I tried sniffing the network with Wireshark, but I cannot understand why the TCP connection cannot be set up. I'm sure it's an Ubuntu problem as I'm able to connect to that server on the same machine, but different OS.
After reading about Linux I decided to try it on an old HP Pavilion model 6617 desktop running Win 98 - so far with limited success!

I've built a customized 2.6.32 kernel over Ubuntu 10.04 server (physically) -note: it is the same version that comes with the livecd-. Then I added my stuff, cloned the disk, applied it to 3 different hardware boxes and it works perfectly. But when I put that image on a VMWare Workstation 7.1 or VirtualBox machine it doesn't load... I get a "kernel panic: not syncing vfs unable to mount root fs on unknown-block 0,0". So, I've created a new vm, I've installed ubuntu and it booted without a problem.
I ran my kernel patching as I did on the physical machine, but when I rebooted with the new kernel, I got the same error. So, the problem seems to be something in the customized kernel, but specifically going over virualized copies. By the way - In a previous version, specifically Debian 5 with kernel 2.6.18, I did the same stuff about a year ago and the machine loads perfectly in any virtualized environment. Then, the only thing left to think about my problem is that some grub parameter or kernel driver or something is messing up with booting. The customization of the kernel is only the patching for IMQ stuff.
Can anyone help me with how to create an init.d script that will startup a vm machine in virtualbox at boot? I found this script:[URL]..But it is for ubuntu. I am running fedora 12 x386 and using it as an Amahi server. Very cool, but it would be extra cool if I had a virtual windows machine startup when I booted up this server. Then I could just rdp into it when I needed something in windows.

I have vmware tools installed in XP and up until recently I could simply drag whatever I wanted back and forth between the systems. When I try to drag a file across into XP the cursor has the plus sign like it would normally to drop a file in, but now it also makes a selection box on the XP desktop. Same problem in Workstation and Player. I haven't posted on the vmware forums yet, I figured someone here probably has had the same problem. I don't think it was a kernel update. I restarted ubuntu with 2.6.31.18 which was fully functional before, still with the same problem.
