(You can see the attachment, maybe it's more clear )My actual problem is, I have configure Squid on my server, but I want to force SSL for the connection between the client and the server.I didn't really find nice tutorials about on that, maybe someone have an idea ? Or maybe some indications ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed squid on my machine, and for a while it was starting up automatically when the computer would turn on, and I would only have to reconfigure on ip-up for the new dns, etc.Now for some reason, I notice that squid isn't even started.To fix this, I wrote a start up script in /etc/rcS.d/ that runs:/etc/init.d/squid3 startAnd I notice it still isn't starting.So I write "/etc/init.d/squid3 start" and put it in my ip-up.d/ script.Everything in the script is being executed, but the squid server.I've tried reinstalling squid... what am I missing? where does the computer start these services?

It also happens if I click "open containing folder" in Ktorrent, so it must be a global setting, but I couldn't figure out where to change this back to Nautilus

Masquerading will work, however it will throw off anything key based and makes a lot of things just more difficult and vague in general. Is there an easy way to do this via iptables? View 3 Replies View RelatedI have three locations with a central office connected to two remote locations. At the central office I run on a cisco asa 5505 two site to site vpns. The remote end of the first site is a checkpoint firewall , and the remote end of the second site is racoon on debian. Both sites are up and working. However, where at the first site traffic goes both ways, at the second site it only works from the central office to the remote office.
For example, I can ssh from a host in the central office to a host in the first remote site (through checkpoint firewall,) then ssh back from that host at the remote office to any host in the central office. In contrast, after I ssh from a host in the central office to a host in the second remote office (through racoon), I cannot see the central office hosts (ping the ip address of a central office host, ssh, etc. all fail.) The vpn settings at the central office (the cisco asa 5505) are identical. So it seems to me that some routing magic is missing on the host running racoon at the second remote office. Where would such setting reside? racoon config files? iptables?
I got a problem with flash player. Atm I'm using chrome. Flash version 10.1.102, chrome version 6.0.472 So, my problem is that after a long while of having the browser open (any), flash player stops working properly (it's hard to describe but in ..... for example, the image and sound freeze for 5 seconds, in the next second everything happens at once, freezes 5 seconds again, shows all that frozen time in fast forward again, etc). This happens every a few hours of not closing the player's plugin I restart flash with the chrome task manager, reload the page, and it works properly again. I tried using firefox but I have the same problem (except I cant restart the flash plugin without restarting the browser).
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy home LAN (6 computers) is connected to a Dlink 624 router (192.168.0.1). All machines have DHCP addresses exception of the Ubuntu 10.10 box which has 2 NICs (192.168.0.198 and 192.168.0.199) with static IPs.
I've been spending hours reading stuff on Squid3 and I can't make it work, the client computers won't connect to the Internet.
What I'd like to do is a simple Squid proxy to cache the websites I access the most.
Would someone have in hand a squid.conf file compatible with my needs or suggest me another proxy product (with a GUI if possible,)?
I downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 and made created a DVD. When I started installing it, I'm not able to do it. I think its hanging. This is what happening: First I found a screen saying 'ubuntu 10.10' and it loaded for some time then I got a screen with a black color task bar at the top of the screen, then after some time it turned into white color and after some time it disappeared. Nothing else happened. I didn't find any pop-up window to start installation of OS..
But when I tried this in my friends house, I found that instead of 'ubuntu 10.10' there came 'Ubuntu' LOGO and it was little bit slow but a pop-up window opened to start installation..
Why its not coming in my PC..

i'm not sure for using the correct channel here but i hope someone out there can answer my little questions. 1st in older version i was able to change the settings of the terminal look as the font color, background color and so on. I was also able to define a default window size of a new terminal window. But since after upgrading to to the first release this year and a complete new installation of the current release Maverick i do not find this option anymore. Is there a way how to set up the terminal default window size?

eth0 is connected to a router, which provides Internet access. It is assigned an IP 192.168.1.2 by the router. I manually configured eth1 to have an IP address 192.168.5.1. It is connected to a switch. Systems having IP addresses 192.168.5.x are connected to this switch. I ran these two commands for NAT:

But when I try to access internet from a system having IP 192.168.5.2 through the proxy I get an error that says "Access denied". What is wrong with my configuration?
I have Squid3 running and SARG for producing report. I would like to see the hostname being logged in the access.log file instead of the client IP address. I have already set the option log_fqdn=on and it doesn't do it. I still see the client IPs in access.log files...
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I ran 8.04, force check would be run every 23 boots. The ESCAPE key allowed me to skip it that boot and it would again start force check at the next boot. In 10.04, it gave me an option to use the C key to cancel, but it does not attempt force check at subsequent boots. It does not seem to do an automatic check any more.
How can I restore the original 10.04 setting? Or better yet, get it to perform as it did in 8.04

I have set the kernel selection time out to 3 seconds. However, sometimes it just hangs indefinitely on the kernel selection screen until I manually select the kernel. This is bad news since it is a VM started up from a script and _has_ to start automatically. The VM is a re-constructed cloud backup made by rsync and re-running grub.
Is there any way to force Ubuntu to NEVER, under any circumstances, not time out on kernel selection.
I just did a fresh install of 10.10 and whenever I log on it request the password for default keyring (the same as sign in password) in previous versions of ubuntu it never asked and automatically started the wireless; now it asks and tells me the password is incorrect. I can hit cancel a numerous amount of times and it will eventually allow me to connect, but that doesn't seem like a good fix in my opinion. This also happened when I tried out lubuntu 10.04 which I promptly removed due to the menu style.

Arpwatch is failing to start at boot time. I got this message:
arpwatch: bad interface eth0: eth0: no ipv4 address assigned
Once I login into my account, I can (as root) run the arpwatch demon, but it is suppose to run at boot time. After I installed aprwatch, it was working correctly. I do not have an idea of what happens or since when the problem start to happen. I just realize, after a while , that arpwatch was not running. I am running Fedora 12 - 2.6.32.9-67.fc12
I'm trying to block a site for a certain time.How to Block(deny) perticuler website in certain times of the day , by using squid ? and it seemed promising.I added the lines to my squid.conf
acl office_time time MTWHF 3:00-21:00
acl bad url_regex "/etc/squid/block.acl
http_access deny bad !office_time
created a block.acl in the same directory and restarted it.
This is not exactly Ubuntu question but i don't know where else to ask. I'm trying to setup a Wireless Linux router. My ISP provides multicast IPTV. I've got the whole thing setup'ed with igmpproxy and hostpad. On wired connection IPTV works flawlessly, but on wireless connection IPTV glitches badly and router start to time out. View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of Ubuntu 11.04 64bit and the start up time is abnormally slow. If I start up the computer and don't press anything, the start up time is 30 minutes but it usually doesn't start up at all. It just boots into a purple screen, no splash, then it sits there and the computer doesn't have any loading lights flashing.
I had a similar problem with 10.10, but I assumed it would go away when I did a clean install of 11.04.
I can't get a read out of what's going wrong because when I press Esc it doesn't display anything, though weirdly it can sometimes get the start up process moving. I have also found that pressing enter really fast can sometimes help and something that seems completely oxymoronic, if I press the power button while it's starting up that can make it work, but nothing works every time.
I'm trying to run ubuntu 11.04 (64-bit) on my hp pavilion tx2100ed but it won't boot. After the grub bootscreen it goes black and doesn't react to Ctrl-Alt F1 ..F4.
Also booting the recovery mode doesn't work
To be able to start the installer I had to use xforcevesa.
Does any one know what this can be and how to solve it?
can i force x to start in vesa mode using grub commands?
