I tried to make a copy of my Audio CD and it asked me to install some plugins, so I installed them. After installing them, it still doesn't copy any audio cd. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem, because GnomeBaker takes long time to copy an audio cd.

It first gave an error that cdda2wav was not installed but that is not true and now I get this general error. I'm installing K3B as we speak but I prefer to keep a straight Gnome installation.

I am attempting to backup DVDs that I own to .iso format so that I'm able to watch them using xbox media center. I've simply been copying the entire DVD to my HD in .iso using brasero.When I watch the .iso file in XBMC, the audio is a fraction of a second ahead of the video. The gap between the audio and video doesn't seem to change over the duration of the clip.
What are the likely causes of this issue? I've read that it could be a slow processor, little ram, or inadequate video card. If it's indeed a hardware issue, I suppose I'm SOL with my current laptop: a 2006 dell with a core 2 duo processor, 2GB ram, and a middle of the road video card at that time.Is there any software tweak I can explore to get the .iso file to sync properly?Also, I know it's customary for posters to list their system specifications, but I don't know how to call up my software or hardware setups.
I have made numerous audio CD's with Brasero, but recently I had to make one and mid way through the burning process I am given this error: Could not decode stream. Or some variation like that. It ruins the cd and after I get the error I can not eject the disc.

Im using Ubuntu 9.10 with the latest updates. It doesn't do anything when I try to copy it with Brasero, and when I try to go the the audio folder it gives me:

Using Natty Narwhal and have tried to duplicate CD in Banshee. Tells me that I will need to put writeable CD in Drive after copying but nothing seems to happen. Completes copying but then does not ask for CD and seems to just stop. Am I doing something wrong? I guess I could import and then burn to CD.I am not wedded to Banshee and am happy if anyone has better recommendation. Currently using Ripoff then Brasero to copy audio CD. not compressing - straight to WAV. Would like to get CD-Text on tracks if I could.

Now when I try, the program will copy the disk, but instead of pausing to allow you to insert the destination disk, it will simply eject the disk and then quit. I can copy disks by selecting 'copy to image' and then burning the image, but this is a pain.

I've successfully ripped many of the DVDs to ISO with Brasero, but am now wondering if it'd be possible to burn these back to other discs if I bought them in the future. In other words, does Brasero leave copy protection in place and just bypass it when ripping to ISO, or does Brasero remove copy protection all together leaving me with an decrypted ISO?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to make a copy of a DVD recently. I started with Brasero, and when that didn't work, I installed k3b. Both came back w/similar symptoms. Neither burned the DVD and seemed to hang up. When either program stopped/hung, I checked on the file that was being captured from the original DVD and discovered that both programs produced a max file of 1.5 GB (source was 6+ GB). I checked the size of the partition where the file was being temporarilty stored and there is 18 GB of space.

When i open an audio file, it goes foreward with steps like 5 secondos and i can't listen nothing. Videos i can see, but with no audio, and ..... videos go at like 2x speed (and also here no audio). I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop then immediately upgraded to Karmic 9.10. Pulseaudio installed by default. There's no sound although the mute button is not checked and the volume slide control is at medium. lspci gives:

So, it appears that somehow the audio device controller in my laptop is not recognized or its driver disabled, possibly by pulseaudio. Sound works fine in Windows 7 part of this dual-booted laptop.

I have very strange problems with all the good audio mp3 players in Ubuntu. Not the bad programs only the good (whcich have good skins and library and so on). Amarok for some reason skips all the music files but only mp3 if I put m3u online radio it works. It doesn't show errors at all just skips the songs. I've never had issues with mp3 files before. The movie player works liek a charm but is too cheap (no library to browse files). Banshee was great and suddenly it stopped working just like the good old Rhythmbox... They appear to be starting in background but don't show nowhere. I cannot install XMMS players too it isn't found on the apt-get server. Also my packages are fully updated.
Reinstalling the programs don't help at all! It must be some major issue with the programs not launching. It's not a single program Banshee, Rhythmbox and I think some other but don't remember the names. Movie player plays all but is too simple. I want something like Winamp with nice library please help. No need for movies just mp3. Exaile works not fine with mp3 but I preffer how Rhytmhbox shows the music library with all the songs not like in seperate folders. I could try song shuffle. But why the other programs don't start what command can show what's happening?
I recently installed Ubuntu on my HP Pavilion dv4-2012br and am really enjoying it, except that it is conflicting with my sound card. The only way I can hear some sound is going into System> Preferences> Sound> Output and selecting "Internal analog stereo audio" which makes the sound hollow and not at all pleasant to listen to music. When I mark "RS880 audio device [Radeon HD 4200] Digital Stereo (HDMI)" the sound is not played.
