View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use wget or install anything that uses wget to install (flash player plugin), it fails, as my IT admin blocks direct access to IPs. I see wget takes the domain and resolves it's IP and then downloads (atleast thats how I get it?), and then I get "connection refused". Is it possible to force it use the domain and not the IP?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to synce several windows mobile devices without much success. All the instructions I've read say that synce-dccm should be installed. I can't find it (or synce-odccm) either via synaptic or using apt-get install. Has this package been re-named or incorporated into something else or just redundant? I have the repository "launchpad.net/synce/ppa/ubuntu lucid" added to my sources.

Can anyone guide me past this problem when trying to install synce/Multisync on F11. I am trying to sync to my HTC TytnII (HTC Kaiser) and any other useful advice appreciated as the synce wiki seems a bit out of date: Command: yum install synce-sync-engine synce-gnome synce-kde synce-software-manager synce-trayicon librapi Gives: file /usr/libexec/synce-serial-chat conflicts between attempted installs of synce-serial-0.11-3.fc11.i586 and synce-hal-0.13.1-2.fc11.i586 I presume I can 'force' the offending rpm but do not want to cause more issues. There is a bug report for this already: 505199
View 6 Replies View RelatedTrying to build the required libs for synCE, www.synce.org, as listed in their web site under building from sources. Came upon a snag, on building the odccm library which needs gnet-2. I loaded gnet-2 from my distribution DVD, and then did an #ldconfig afterwards, but it still says that it needs gnet-2. Not sure why it can't see it. I tried to build gnet-2 from source, but had a difficult time finding it as it is deprecated and Gnome only had the latest build which did not build (errors).

I've been using OpenSUSE 11.4 with GNOME for quite a while now and so far I've been a happy camper. This morning I decided to try GNOME 3 and the install went smoothly, with the only exception of rhytmbox(my music player of choice) not being available.Later I found rhythmbox for GNOME 3 in this repo: Index of /repositories/ GNOME:/ Apps/openSUSE_11.4+GNOME_STABLE_3.0.It works well but the Cover Art plugin won't load because it fails to import python-gstreamer.Should I report a bug against OpenSUSE 11.4 or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Yesterday I wasn't able to successful enable JRE in my firefox. This is what I did ,
I downloaded the rpm from the file and installed it in /usr/java Code: chmod a+x jre-6u<version>-linux-i586-rpm.bin./jre-6u<version>-linux-i586-rpm.bin This successfully installed Firefox JRE in my system now in order to make firefox know abt it
I went to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and
Code:
ln -s /usr/java/jre1.6.0_24/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so as said in the instruction manual. Still firefox isn't able to recognise the plugin.
I am trying to upgrade RH9 to F10. I have downloaded dvd iso image i386. The SHA1 integrity check passes. The installer fails media check due to "errors". I did an independent verification of the DVD and zero errors found. Download was from Fedora's own torrent, so files should be verified anyway. If I bypass the media check I get the message : Running anaconda 11.4.1.62 the Fedora system installer - please wait.....

While using Rhythmbox this morning, I was greeted by a blunt and undiscriptive error message:
Code:
Plugin Error:Unable to activate plugin Cover Art.Going to the plugin page, I was supprised to find that most of the installed plugins would not load. Without any info being offered in the player, I looked on line. Many people had problems with other plugins, and most of the time it was a problem with an uninstalled python package. But I checked on this site and I found that I had all of these packages installed. (Well, the python ones at least, to check all of them would take forever.)

After finding no help there, I ran rhythmbox -d to debug:
Code:

It also says

Only certain mp3s have this problem. All gstreamer packages have been installed. What package is missing anyway?
