I went to a page in firefox that I knew requires flash, and saw the little button saying that firefox was trying to install a missing plugin. In my frustration to get adobe flash working in firefox I deleted the /usr/lib/flash-plugin folder. Now when I try to uninstall "Flash-Plugin" from YAST it fails as it can't find the sub-folder. I also cannot install the latest version of flash player as it says that it is already installed - So I am stuck in a loop.
I am running SUSE 11.2.
Is there a config file of installed programs that I can modify to remove the "Flash-Plugin" entry, or is there another way to get over this problem.
Flash is no longer working in Mozilla Firefox after the most recent flash plugin update. I couldn't find any information on it.

I have DSL installed on an old desktop and I've never been able to get flash to install. I'm not sure which version it is. (how do I check?) I think it's from 2007. It uses firefox 1.0.6. I do not know how to install tar.gz files, though someone walked me through it once, but it still did not work.

When I try to use wget or install anything that uses wget to install (flash player plugin), it fails, as my IT admin blocks direct access to IPs. I see wget takes the domain and resolves it's IP and then downloads (atleast thats how I get it?), and then I get "connection refused". Is it possible to force it use the domain and not the IP?

So I tried to download adobe flashplayer from a site I'm not sure of, and it didn't install flashplugin-installer. i have just upgraded to 10.10 from 10.04. i have an acer netbook (d250 one). i had boot loading screen problems with 10.04 too. i hoped that this issue will be fixed with the upgrade but not. after the grub menu, a black screen appers until the password prompt screen. there is no purple loading screen, just a black screen. is it a plymouth prob? also i realised that when i playing videos in videos the sound crashes a bit. i'm using google chromium. but my main problem is the booting one not the flashplugin. the new 'ubuntu' font is awesome. i <3 it.

I failed to install flash-plugin on my firefox My firefox is installed on path "/home/<<user>>/firefox"
1) I tried to install flash plugin by rpm -Uvh flash-plugin-10.0.32.18-release-i386.rpm It is not working as the files are not installed on the folder /home/<<user>>/firefox/
2) yum install flash-plugin It returns "nothing to do"
3) I extracted and copied the files in the rpm to /home/<<user>>/firefox/flash-plugin then create a link by ln -s /home/<<user>>/firefox/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so /home/<<user>>/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so When I open the firefox, it crashed.
How could I install this plugin manually?
