Jun 22, 2011I installed BLAS using yum on my RHEL.

Also installed blas-devel

There are shared objects in
/usr/lib/libblas.so.3
/usr/lib/libblas.so.3.0

But I can't find cblas.h file. Should I install something else to get the header file installed?

Jun 27, 2009In mandriva 2008 platform I have installed gcc-g77, liblapack, liblapack-devel, libblas, libblas-devel, arpack, arpack-devel and arpack-static packages. When I link *.f code and these libraries, using g77 compiler with -llapack -lblas -larpack options, everything work. Then when I replaced g77 by gfortran compiler, to be able to work with double precision complex arithmetic, I have got a number of undefined references errors:

It looks as if I need to install f95 lapack and arpack libraries. Does anybody know if such rpm packages exist? I cannot find them in the net. If they exist, where is it possible to download them?

Apr 18, 2010i have a backtrack install that i would like to keep while installing suse for an everyday OS; i start the install process but when it gets to partitioning the hard drive, it doesnt seem to recognize anything already being on there; it just gives me the setup for suse, ie:
sda1 ext3 = OS sda2 or sda5 = swap. do i have to configure a partition scheme? i installed ubuntu on a desktop alongside windows very easily due to grub graphical install/partition; is there not a similar function for suse?

Jan 12, 2011I am installing Ubuntu Server 10.10 on and old Dell Laptop. The network connection is an Xircom PCMCIA card.During install, the computer sees and interacts via the network just fine. For example, I can ping the gateway. Also, the command "lspcmcia" works and show the Xircom card.When I reboot, however, there is no network access, and the "lspcmcia" command is not there. When I try "lspcmcia" the OS helpfully tells me that I can "apt-get" pcmciautils, but, without network access, that fails.I tried adding the install cdrom to apt using "apt-cdrom" and then tried to "apt-get" pcmciautils and it got further, installing some dependencies, but acted like it still was unable to locate the pcmciautils package.

Oct 16, 2010Toward the end of installing Ubuntu 10.10 32bit (Alt CD) on my iMac 11,1, the installer asked me to type in the location for installing the grub boot loader.
I told it to use /dev/sda3 and it immediately failed. I'm still in the installer. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Jul 2, 2011I'm trying to migrate from Ubuntu to OpenSUSE but for some reason I can't get the install to work. I've tried installing the GNOME live CD both from a CD and a USB but after I select installation it goes to the loading screen for a few seconds and then the screen goes black and it stays like that till I reboot. Is it a problem with my hardware or something or did something miss-write when I burned the CD/USB?

3. When booting, I get a message saying something like "intel_ips can't find i915 symbols, so graphics turbo is disabled". When googling for this, I see this is a kernel related issue. Since I don't have any understandings of kernels, I thought this is a little too high up for me. What does it mean and how can I fix it, as it slows my boot down quite a bit?

I cannot find a .deb of it, so downloaded the tar.gz but the stock install doesnt have a compiler. I could download and copy over a compiler, but I'm guessing I'm going to be here hours copying over each dependancy that I come across (I'm guessing there may be a few) how I can tether my iPhone or how I can install blueman? Does anyone know of any pre-built packages I can just copy n install?

Mar 19, 2011What is the easiest and/or safest way to migrate my Wubi 10.04 install to a full install? Currently, my Dell XPS M1530 is currently dual-booting Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and Windows Vista Home Premium, and I've decided after using Windows a total of around 4 hours over the past 6 months that I can probably let it go. So, I don't need Windows anymore and I believe I'm ready for a full install of Ubuntu. Though, I probably will wait for 11.04 to come out first.
A few ways I've thought of already are: 1) Find an external hard drive to put the Wubi files on. 2) Upload files to an storage website. 3) Temporarily put the Wubi files onto another computer (Windows). All these meaning I would then wipe my harddrive and install Ubuntu from a CD. And by "files", I mean Documents, Pictures, Downloads, etc.
EDIT: deleting all my applications, because OpenOffice.org won't reinstall on my computer due to dependency issues while attempting to install LibreOffice. So a fresh install would be nice.

So, I decided to pick up a new disc, slap windows 7 on it and now want to dual boot.Basically I had to do some disc juggling to get windows to play nice. So my windows drive is now first, then my Ubuntu drive second.Its been a while so I'm wondering how involved / what would be the steps to get grub2 to chainload into windows7 (in my head I want to say I'm going to boot into the live cd, mount the windows disc and reinstall the loader to the windows drive since its the first disc in the chain?)

The installation could have failed because of an error in the corresponding software package or it was cancelled in an unfriendly way. You have to repair this before you can install or remove any further software.
