I'm facing a boring problem and I cant understand why it is happening. Im running Evolution 2.28.3 on Ubuntu 10.04, and all the messages are not showing their images. I already did the following confs:
1) Change proxy to connect "Directly to the internet"
2)In Preferences, "Load images from contacts".
3)I tried the option "Load Images" ou CTRL+I.
Evolution won't show any images no matter what format. This really bugs me as at least 95% of my mail comes with loads of pictures. I'm running Ubuntu 9.10/Karmic Koala, anyone else have this problem with Karmic and solved it?

I have noticed that when I get a new email, it never shows a new mail icon in the panel. I had the same problem with 9.10, and I thought the problem would go away when I upgraded to 10.4.
I have checked the properties in Mail preferences:

Play sound - yes
Display a notification - yes
Indicate new messages in panel - yes
Having a problem with Evolution not starting.
It is version 2.28.3-2
Simply doesn't start. Brings up the main mail window, doesn't show any mail folders, and doesn't respond to any key presses or mouse clicks.
Other users on the same PC have no problems, so it must be user specific. Some sort of config problem I guess. But where ? This particular user has over 500Mb of mail in folders.
I configured it to use IMAP to access our exchange 2010 server front end on a LAN connection. Our webmail connection is segregated behind Forefront, so it was not connecting/authing that way. Even though smartphones have no problem. (sidenote, is there an activesync linux mail client ?)
I have many root folders and several folders underneath my inbox. total mailsize in inbox is 3.5 GB without subfolders. The sent is likewise as large. And is likewise empty.

Will try finding a diff add on, or if anyone knows how to get lightening into thunderbird 3.1.8 on ubuntu 10 that would be great as well.
Using Ubuntu 10 (Ubuntu Studio) with Evolution 2.28.3 - i can LOAD images into Evolution and they appear while i compose the email but they do NOT appear in the recipient's email -- they do not appear even if i send an email to myself! I DO have "format messages in html" checked. I DO NOT have "always load images from the internet" checked because that refers to my inbox, not to me composing an email; instead, i have "load images in messages from contacts" checked; besides, these are local pictures that i am inserting, not from the web. Again, neither a friend can see the images (though she can when receiving them from other ppl) nor can i see them if sent to myself, or even in my copies in my "sent mail" folder. The emoticons behave similarly. Is this a glitch? I am new to Evolution, though quite familiar with Linux and with T-bird, K-Mail, Claws, etc.

for example if I want to create a an "Empty File", I'll right-click on desktop and when I want to go to "Create Document" menu, it doesn't show up! so I must click somewhere else and try again so for the second time it works!!
I was wondering if I can show an image on our php site if we store the path to it. For example if we get the result form my sql as:

When opening nautilus there are no image previews.Only if i watch the image with eye of gnome and than klick thereload button, the pictures are shown. is this a bug or feature?how can i switch this back to the default where image previews areshown when i open a folder without viewing it with eye of gnome?

I've tried removing and adding it again, but no luck. Anyone else having this problem or have a fix?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem with Firefox with the following scenario: When I view a picture from a website in the browser and the pictures gets deleted from the server (while I'm viewing it) - I can't save the picture to my hard drive. Firefox always tries to download the picture from the web-server although it's in the cache. Resulting in an image file which contains the HTTP 404 response from the server. *lol*

I changed to ubuntu 10.10 I have setup my gmail account on the Evolution client, and has downloaded like a third of my inbox emails in the first syncro. Ever since it hasn't downloaded any newer email after that even when several have passed.
Is there any configuration I should use to tell the inbox to go over a fixed capacity or something like this?

I have the exact same settings on both Evolution and Thunderbird but only Thunderbird sees the mails (new/old), there are 139 messages.Evolution seen none. Nothing. I'm experiencing overheating problems, after just 15-20 minutes of minimal use (surfing the internet, not even watching flash vids or any other vids). The same laptop under Windows 7 64 bit stayed really cool.
I've read several posts here and followed this manual: [URL] to try to control the fans (I only installed the lm-sensors and ran the sensors command, I didn't do anything beyond that). Specifically what I did was install lm-sensors (via apt-get), ran sensors-detect which advised me to add the coretemp module to /etc/modules, which I did.
However when running sensors the only information I get is the overall temperature and the temperature of each of the cores.
why I'm not getting fan speed info when running sensors? Also is there a way to find out if more modules needs to be added to /etc/modules?

View 3 Replies View Relatedwhy the bootloader won't show up when I turn on the PC. The only things that come up with search results are 'Why ubuntu isn't on the boatloader' but my problem is is that the boot loader doesn't even SHOW UP.
Installation went completely fine, downloaded a version 10 32-bit iso file and then put in the folder with wibu and it asked me to restart. Restarted the PC, nothing came up so I thought you might have to restart again, restarted again, still no bootloader.
After looking in the 'Add/Remove Programs' of Windows it does say it's installed, so why the bootloader isn't showing up is rather mindbobbling.

I know that Windows 7 is still on the system, I just can't access it.
I have an ASUS M4A785-m and it has the Realtek 8112L gigabit nic. The weird thing is, the 10.10 rc saw the nic card just fine, and windows sees the card so it's not disabled in the bios.
Ubuntu says i have no network connections and i need to get internet. Any suggestions?
I should also note that i'm running from the livecd and lspci shows that it detects my NIC. but my NIC isn't "detected" in that it can be used.
I've just upgraded to Maverick and as the Me menu works with Empathy I started to use it as my default IM client.
But no matter what I do, it won't show my picture.
I tried resizing the picture to 96x96, I tried to convert it from jpg to png. I tried uninstalling the program with apt-get remove --purge. I tried also removing the ~/config/Empathy directory and all others related to the program and then reinstalling it but nothing seems to work.
I even made a video aboout it, maybe I'm doing something wrong: [URL]
