I think it is very annoying, that kde slideshow screensaver does not rotate images according to the jpeg exif information. I've found a bug report from 2005 for this topic Bug 103282 - no exif-rotation in slideshow) but as far as I see it still does not work. Any idea how can I set up kde to rotate the images?

This is in gnome under F11.I have the Power Management Preferences set to put the display to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity and gnome screensaver is configured for 5 minutes idle time.On a regular basis, I'll leave my computer come back anda) the screensaver hasn't kicked inorb) the screensaver kicked in, but the power management features didn't kick in to put the display to sleep.It seems to be an intermittent problem and usually it goes away after I restart X, but then at some point it comes back. In the past, I've gotten in the habit of being logged in for weeks/months at a time but I find that I can't go more than a few hours without logging out and back in or else the screen won't go to sleep.

I have a tablet fujitsu-siemens t5010 with installed the wacum packages by default, and the pen was working, but couldn't rotate with xsetwacom command.
In Fedora 10, most guides refer to the wacom device as "stylus" which doesn't work on Fedora 11. I run command " $ xinput list " and I found the line
"PnP Device (FUJ02e5) eraser"id=3[XExtensionKeyboard]
and some lines before there is:
"PnP Device (FUJ02e5)"id=2[XExtensionKeyboard]
^^^^^^ this is the name of the device xsetwacom command needs! ^^^^^^^
I wrote first the line with the eraser cause I suppose that even someone has different wacom model, the eraser will be easy to find by grep command ( $ xinput list | grep -i eraser ), and common in most configures.
now , the edited script I use becomes like this:

When i open any .pps file with OO.org (impress), it starts a slideshow and it doesn't let me edit the file. If i click on "end slideshow", the program exits.i ran it in a terminal and there's no error messages.[EDITED]Well, i found the answer, just renaming it to ".ppt".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was asked to make a slideshow of a series of JPEGs; I found the programme "imagination" that is available as an .rpm and I installed it with YaST;it worked well and I produced a couple of straightforward .vob files that could be started from a DVD player connected to a TV; (the intention);I would need to restart YaST to check; but I guess imagination is on packman It has a GU interface and worked well for me.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed debian 6.0 (64 bit) systems, but in the "System - Preferences - Screen Saver " set idle time, and then select "activate creensaver when idle"and"Lock screen when screensaver activated, "but to No response after a set time. But by "ctrl + alt + l" was able to quickly enter the screen saver and lock the screen. May I ask how should I set the idle time after the screen saver and lock into?

I'm facing a boring problem and I cant understand why it is happening. Im running Evolution 2.28.3 on Ubuntu 10.04, and all the messages are not showing their images. I already did the following confs:
1) Change proxy to connect "Directly to the internet"
2)In Preferences, "Load images from contacts".
3)I tried the option "Load Images" ou CTRL+I.
There's an OSS screensaver on windows that I love called PixelCity (links:blog post, github). it's pretty cool. and it runs fine on my Ubuntu (Karmic 9.10) with wine.Is there a way I can tell the gnome-screensaver about it so I can use it as one of my screensavers? I'm still fairly new to Gnome and the whole "screensavers as themes" thing is still confusing me.I've found my themesdir and tried to create a .desktop file for it, but obviously I've gotten something wrong as it just doesn't show when I open the screensaver prefs dialog, no error, no message, it's just not there.
Installing the xscreensaver packages added the extra screensavers I was missing, and I'm a pixelcity away from perfection..Of course the perfect solution would be if someone ported the screensaver natively to linux, which shouldn't be too hard as the source is open, it already runs on openGL and tries to confine most windows stuff to a single file. But I don't know C++ or 3D code or win/linux internals so I wouldn't know where to start..
I have a weird problem with Firefox with the following scenario: When I view a picture from a website in the browser and the pictures gets deleted from the server (while I'm viewing it) - I can't save the picture to my hard drive. Firefox always tries to download the picture from the web-server although it's in the cache. Resulting in an image file which contains the HTTP 404 response from the server. *lol*

I have this little problem: when I open a folder with images from my network drive, I can't see the previews of the files.If the folder is on the local drive no issues, but with the remote one... no luck.I checked around for a solution, without results.. do you know if there is a solution for this little issue

View 3 Replies View RelatedSuse 11.2 and kde, I'm trying to set up a screensaver. All the facilities seem to be there when I go System>Desktop and set the required details, but then I find the screensaver is non-operative, the screen just going blank after the preset time delay.
The set-up system does do the demo of the screensaver OK, so the software for it must be there and at least partly accessible. But it doesn't seem to get through to the system.
Suse and I can't get the Atlantis screensaver to run. The screen goes black.he other savers run ok. Is there anything I can do to run it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedBack when I used openSUSE 10.3 with KDE 3.5.x I used the KDE-specific version of blueproximity found here: K-Blueproximity KDE-Apps.org. The thing that made it great was that it integrated kscreensaver.
It hasn't been updated in a couple years and isn't compatible with 4.3.x so I'm using the non-KDE-ified standard blueproximity package. For the most part it works. Based on comments I found somewhere I'm running the following command to lock the screen:

and to unlock:

The problem is that the unlock command doesn't work. My monitors will reactivate and the screensaver will display but in order to actually unlock I have to hit a key/move the mouse and enter my password.
what the command should be to actually unlock the screen since the above doesn't work.

I'm running 11.2. My screen saver has been working fine since the begining in December, but now when I run VLC or fldigi my screen saver will kick on for only a few minutes then it will pop back to the log in screen as if I had moved my mouse or hit a key on the keyboard.
VLC about shows : gcc version 4.4.1 [gcc-4_4-branch revision 150839]
fldigi is latest version
I get a lot of these in var/log/messages:

I am using opensuse 11.2 Gnome. Screensaver is spoiling video streaming and I have to manually stop it every time. There are options in media players to stop screensaver but when I watch videos online it seems like there is no global option to stop it. Is there a way to resolve this issue?

When I left the machine the screen saver kicked in and wouldn't let meback on with my password I chose during installation (and the only password I chose!) Re-booting the machine sorted the problem...until next time! I have now disabled the lock out for the screen saver so things ought to work now, but why did it do this? New with openSuse!
