I'm using Evolution with 11 different Email accounts. They all show up with their respective folders in the left sidebar. How can I change their order? Now, so it seems, the account I entered first is on top. I want the more important accounts to be the furtest up and move some others down. I'm sure there has to be a file where this is stored, no?

All my email accounts are internet based. I have quite a few:
2 Gmail accounts - my main one and a more formal one for job searches and resume stuff.
1 Yahoo account for everything else so most spam will go there.
1 University account that I have to use while taking a masters degree program
1 AOL account - a holdout from a long time ago that I hardly ever check.
What would be my reason for using a computer based email system like Evolution or Thunderbird? Could I combine all this accounts to one place? Would I want to? I don't have a job right now so I don't have a work email. I thought it would me nice if I could somehow go to one place to see all these email accounts. I will check it out on my own but I thought I would ask the forum for some wisdom.
I have 3 email accounts all of which I cant remember the specifics for setting up the email accounts.I do however have the .iaf files which under windows I can simply double click to import them into the windows email programs.Is there any way to import these in to evolution or a program I can use to convert them in to something evolution will recognise?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just installed/upgraded OpenSUSE 11.3 and setup Evolution Email with 3 Email Accounts. Just for a while I could see all 3 accounts listed on the left column.Suddenly after reading some emails I just noticed that one Email Account (Comcast) had disappeared from the listing. I went to Edit-->Preferences and all 3 accounts are there and all 3 have check marks. I have done a lot of things trying to fix this issue, even uninstall/reinstall Evolution Mail, but nothing of what I have done has been able to make this Email account to be listed again.

I want to be able to intersperse my replies within a quoted reply i.e. if the email had three paragraphs, I'd like to be able to have my replies between each of the paragraphs. At the moment, I don't seem to be able to do anything other than delete from the quoted section - I try to simulate my requirements by cutting and then 'paste quotation', but this doesn't always work as sometimes Evolution adds too many levels of '> ' .
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had configured the evolution to send/recive email. After it had been configured, it could receive emails. Suddendly it can't fetch email anymore. In the inbox of evolution, there were about 200 emails. There are maybe 5K emails in the server, I guessed. I'm not sure whether it's the problem that there's one email in the server too big, so the evolution can not fetch it. The error of evolution is: error while fetching email. Evolution version: Evolution 2.28.0. OS version: Linux xxx2.6.32.9-70.fc12.i686.PAE #1 SMP Wed Mar 3 04:57:21 UTC 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I'm sure my network is fine, I use pop3 to receive email.

In the past I have always had my ISP and my domain registrar handle the e-mail and just POP the e-mail to a ciient such as thunderbird. Now I have decided in order to better learn postfix or sendmail, I want to setup my own and administer it. My question is:
1 - Once I have my domain name for my company is the e-mail accounts just created via psotfix or sendmail or are the accounts created via my domain registrar like my domain name? For Example: my domain name is test.com and I wanted president@test.com.
2 - Are e-mail servers setup in a DMZ as realys and then forwarded to an internal e-mail server and them transmitted to the clients or are they normally just put inside the LAN?
Is it even remotely possible to create a bash script to login to gmail/yahoo/hotmail, thru different web browsers?

finally I tried putting a .forward record in /home/vmail/domain.com/username directory which didn't work either.
i have a linux box at work that was configed by some that has left the company. we have an email add: e.g test@test.com, if you enter that mail add to a new email it then sends the mail to several email accounts the are on the server.i would like to remove and add new users onto that email address, is there anyone out there that can help?

I install qmail server from source according to document on qmailrocks.org but when i add domain and email account and after press the button create the next window in explorer is blank.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had to reload from 10.4 to 10.10. On 10.4 I had no problems with the email. Now with 10.10 I cannot get it set up. I use att/yahoo and I set up my pop 3 and stmp setting correct. It will save them but I cannot secure the one with ssh and there is no where in the wizard to store you password. In turn i cannot get my email thru evolution. And the send/recieve button is not highlighted at all. I dumped evolution and then reloaded it but still have the same issue.

I get a lot of email from different yahoogroups, but am having a bit of trouble in one group.
Every so often I'll get a message that is written in rich text and sent from the group's web post feature, but only half of it is displayed. If I check the message source the entire message is there, and if I change Evolutions settings to plain instead of HTML then the entire message is there.
The weird thing is it only seems to be the messages from one particular poster that is being cut off.
It'd be nice if I could stick with HTML and Evolution.
I just upgraded to Maverick yesterday. When I used to compose a new email I was able to add my email signature to it via a little drop down menu in the compose window. Where has it gone? I can't see any way at all to add my signature to my emails.

I'm using Evolution 2.30.3, and whenever I open "preferences" the window extends below the bottom of my screen. I'm unable to resize or move the window in order to select any of the options below the bottom.I'm sure there is a simple technique to fix this, but it is beyond this newb.

I have Ubuntu 11 up-to-date, on an Asus EEEPC Netbook. I can't configure Evolution, because the screen resolution is small and the window goes beyond the screen, the buttons are not visible. The window cannot be resized.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, I think my Internet crashed while sending an email via Evolution and now whenever I open Evolution, or try and receive any new email it just sits there sending this email - it reaches 100% so I can only assume it has actually sent the email.
There's a button to "Cancel the current mail operation" though it doesn't appear to be doing anything; the email is still being "sent" each time.
This would be pretty tedious for the guy I sent the email to.
Has anyone had similar issues and knows of a fix?
I am using Evolution Mail as my email client and when i get email i dont see the pictures of email i see small red x like something is turned off.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife uses Evolution for emailing. I have just set up an new email account for her and the strangest thing is happening. When she sends mail, a copy was going to the old Sent folder for her old account. Fine. So I tried Edit->Preferences->Mail Accounts->Edit->Defaults and pointed the sent mail to the Sent folder in the new account.Now she sends a mail and there is no copy going anywhere! It is not being saved in the old Sent folder or the new.Compaq Presario 610, Maverick 10.04.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIve tried both Evolution and Thunderbird email, and i prefer Thunderbird, and they wont work, they wont retrieve my email from my email account (yahoo email) or even find the password and username right. Plz help, its kinda irritating.Ive also tried out Empathy IM and it wont work finding my facebook chat account, i havent tried it with anything else yet but its just not connecting.It says theres a network problem or the problems coming from facebook.
