View 2 RepliesI was wondering if there's some web-based email application (like Zimbra) or perhaps gmail can do it I'm not sure that can handle both receiving and sending of mail from multiple email accounts.I have about 4 different email accounts with various different domains and would like to have one platform which has an inbox for each account and from which I can send mail from any of the accounts
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll my email accounts are internet based. I have quite a few:
2 Gmail accounts - my main one and a more formal one for job searches and resume stuff.
1 Yahoo account for everything else so most spam will go there.
1 University account that I have to use while taking a masters degree program
1 AOL account - a holdout from a long time ago that I hardly ever check.
What would be my reason for using a computer based email system like Evolution or Thunderbird? Could I combine all this accounts to one place? Would I want to? I don't have a job right now so I don't have a work email. I thought it would me nice if I could somehow go to one place to see all these email accounts. I will check it out on my own but I thought I would ask the forum for some wisdom.
I am in the process of setting up and e-mail system for my small business. In the past I have always had my ISP and my domain registrar handle the e-mail and just POP the e-mail to a ciient such as thunderbird. Now I have decided in order to better learn postfix or sendmail, I want to setup my own and administer it. My question is:
1 - Once I have my domain name for my company is the e-mail accounts just created via psotfix or sendmail or are the accounts created via my domain registrar like my domain name? For Example: my domain name is test.com and I wanted president@test.com.
2 - Are e-mail servers setup in a DMZ as realys and then forwarded to an internal e-mail server and them transmitted to the clients or are they normally just put inside the LAN?
Is it even remotely possible to create a bash script to login to gmail/yahoo/hotmail, thru different web browsers?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just installed/upgraded OpenSUSE 11.3 and setup Evolution Email with 3 Email Accounts. Just for a while I could see all 3 accounts listed on the left column.Suddenly after reading some emails I just noticed that one Email Account (Comcast) had disappeared from the listing. I went to Edit-->Preferences and all 3 accounts are there and all 3 have check marks. I have done a lot of things trying to fix this issue, even uninstall/reinstall Evolution Mail, but nothing of what I have done has been able to make this Email account to be listed again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 email accounts all of which I cant remember the specifics for setting up the email accounts.I do however have the .iaf files which under windows I can simply double click to import them into the windows email programs. Is there any way to import these in to evolution or a program I can use to convert them in to something evolution will recognise?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Evolution with 11 different Email accounts. They all show up with their respective folders in the left sidebar. How can I change their order? Now, so it seems, the account I entered first is on top. I want the more important accounts to be the furtest up and move some others down. I'm sure there has to be a file where this is stored, no?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have a linux box at work that was configed by some that has left the company. we have an email add: e.g test@test.com, if you enter that mail add to a new email it then sends the mail to several email accounts the are on the server.i would like to remove and add new users onto that email address, is there anyone out there that can help?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently Re-did my Postfix configuration using [URL] The thing that that guide did not tell me was how to get email to forward to other accounts or if I can point multiple accounts to the same place like here:
[Code]...
finally I tried putting a .forward record in /home/vmail/domain.com/username directory which didn't work either.
I need to know how to have evolution, in the folder pane, show a separate inbox for each of my email accounts, i have 2. they both send receive fine, just a matter of organization.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI work at a small animation studio with a server box running Cent OS. We have no IT guy... I happen to know a little bit of programming so I got assigned to look after this server box. I'm still in the process of learning basic linux using VMware at home at themoment. There are few things requested from me that are really beyond my knowledge at this time and I really need some advise or pointer to get started.Current set up- We have 2 servers. A windows server 2008 and a Cent OS. They don't work together... They are only acting like a central "hard drives" so to speak.
- Cent OS was a new addition to our team. It was recently requested by our client. They set up RSync for us to get files from over sea and they want our file structure to match theirs.- We have 15 work stations. Not set as domain yet. We boot into Windows 7 for projects stored on windows server, and boot into Fedora for projects stored on Cent OS.What I was asked to do- Centralize user accounts. My boss wants both windows and fedora to log in using the same account. What would be the best approach to do this? We want the accounts to be managed via the Cent OS box. Permission to access hard drives on the server should be controlled as well.- Maximize Rsync. This one is really beyond my knowledge. The Rsync process from our clients sometimes doesn't go through. They want to make sure the process works as smooth as possible.
I am using CentOS 5.6 and recently, well since I updated to 5.6 when I login through ssh/telnet I am prompted to change the password of any account which is my LDAP directory. Local accounts are unaffected. I haven't tried the console as this server is tucked away in a tiny room. This is really annoying because I don't want to run password expiry on that server and I'm sure that there's nothing in LDAP to indicate password expiry is on. My shadowmax is 9999 by default for every account..which is over 27 years I think. It's only started recently. I'd like to know how I can turn the expiry message off. I'd like to get rid of cracklib as well.
my etc/pam.d/sshd is

account include system-auth
password include system-auth

I'm trying to setup a custom attribute for user accounts, I'm able to make the attribute (foo) and the Object class (foo_class) . But i'm unable to add foo or foo_class to my test users
View 1 Replies View Relatedthis idea to me right now seems stupid and impractical so I'm also looking for solutions outside of this one. I'm creating a set of highly available servers. They currently utilize pacemaker to manage a shared IP address, apache management, mysql management and also drbd handling. They currently replicate, properly failover and run fine. However, this is a shared web hosting setup and everytime a new user is added to the system a username and password is created and the httpd.conf file is updated for their site. I need a way to replicate those changes to the other server. For httpd.conf I'm pretty sure I can just stick it on the apache drbd resource and create a symbolic link. However, for the passwd and shadow files that is not a realistic solution.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup a couple POP accounts in CentOS. I started doing a tutorial that had me install dovecot, and now I have dovecot running but I can't connect at all.Does anyone know of a simple way to get email up and running? It seems like it should be easier than the 14 step tutorials I was finding on Google. Also, should I leave dovecot or try and remove it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use two CentOS 5.5 boxes to serve up email. I wish to loadbalance HTTP, IMAP, POP3, and SMTP between the two servers. The servers are not in a cluster (the email software does not require it). What filesystem could be used to distribute/replicate the files between the two servers? I have tried NFS, GFS, and GlusterFS. All of which work but result in a latency that is unacceptable to the end users (webmail clients).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have postfix sort of working correctly. postfix can send email to the internet but it doesn't want to send email to my local exchange server. What I need is for postfix to send emails directed to @xyz.com to my exchange server instead of itself.
My setup
mail.xyz.com - exchange 2003 server
www.xyz.com - centos 5.3 server with postfix
www.xyz.com can send emails to my hotmail.com account so that part works correctly. www.xyz.com can't send email to username@xyz.com. postfix seems to be delivering the email to itself and not the exchange server.
How can I tell postfix to send the @xyz.com emails to my exchange server?
Here is a sample of my /var/log/maillog
Jul 22 15:43:43 list postfix/smtpd[9802]: D63168604A3: client=localhost.localdomain[127.0.0.1]

this seems silly but I am changing ISPs and need to change my notification email address (for here). Under User Menu -> Edit account it shows my email but does not allow me to change my email. Since I am able to post I assume I am logged in correctly. So what did I miss?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm setting up an email server for a small office and need a few specific features. I was hoping that someone might give me a few recommendations to meet the following criteria:
IMAP support anti-spam some sort of webmail client - doesn't have to be fancy, but it needs a search function graphical administration panel The last one is so that other people in the office, who aren't necessarily familiar with linux, can do some basic administration. Adding mail boxes, etc.
I've seen the guide for Postfix/Dovecot. That's great but doesn't cover everything that I need. I've also seen Zimbra, which... Well I don't know, that may work, but the open source version has some features removed and that makes me leery. Have people had good experiences with open-source Zimbra? Is it sufficiently feature-complete?
Edit: Well, looks like I just needed to do a little more searching. This seems to cover most everything:[URL]... I'd still like to hear what people have to say about Zimbra though.
I've come across a strange issue where any email address that I email with mail returns an error "Bad Address"
Fairly new Centos 5.4 Install, sendmail is the MTA.
Linux 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Thu Sep 3 03:28:30 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
DNS is working fine so there isn't a problem.
[root@hn1 /]# host -t mx iol.co.za
iol.co.za mail is handled by 10 mg1.iol.co.za.
iol.co.za mail is handled by 10 mg2.iol.co.za.
iol.co.za mail is handled by 30 vulpix.iol.co.za.
Yet when I try to use mail it fails:
[root@hn1 /]# which mail
/bin/mail
[root@hn1 /]# ls -lrth /bin/mail
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root mail 83K Jan 7 2007 /bin/mail
[root@hn1 /]# mail -s "test" bob@mydomain.co.za
Bad address
Nothing in the maillog.
I want to increase attachment size in e-mail. At the moment it is 10M but I want to make it double.
