I followed this procedure before installation (live CD) and it successfully found and installed the firmware. Apparently it was saved in live CD. What do I need to do?
Linux noob, and I'm trying to install a little program on my rootserver, but it requires libboost and libboost-dev. Unfortunately ubuntu can't seem to find the packages and google does not help either. The only info I found was telling me to install "gnuradio" or something, which takes up 138 mb. So, how can I install these packages now?also: I cancelled the installation of gnuradio via "CTRL+C", will this cause any problems? Are there some trash files left on the system now?

I've been scratching my head on this one for a while.My level of knowledge of Linux isn't great. I know enough to be dangerous. I'm trying to get Webmin installed to give me an easier web front to Linux. I run the command to get the prereq's.

So I can see that it can't find libnet-ssleay-perl I bit of searching around leads me to the sources.list file which tells apt-get where to get the packages I think. This is as follows.

I tried doing an apt-get update and that worked without problem.

I'm trying to install some nvidia drivers but I need to install the correct headers. uname -r says: 2.6.31-21-serverbut I can't find the headers anywhere to install. 2.6.31-21 and 2.6.31-21-generic are installed but not the server version. It's not showing up in synaptic and using apt-get I get the error message in the title.I have 2.6.31-22-server headers but for some reason when I boot into 2.6.31-22 the OS can't see my 3ware cards and, obviously, the arrays they control. So, I can't use 2.6.31-22 yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in love with my Opensuse 11.2. Love my KDE 4.4. The only thing I miss from my Ubuntu installation, is the ability to use Boxee. I would be more than willing to compile Boxee from source. I only have 2 problems with that:
1) I don't know where I can find all the build-deps or what they are for that matter to build Boxee.
2) I'm running on a Netbook. Yes, my measly Intel Atom is no fun for compiling and building.
What are my options/what can I do to get Boxee up and running on 11.2? I've tried searching on build service for an RPM, but I think due to legal restrictions, Boxee can't be on there.
Still I am asked to package a war file as an RPM package. That is an unusual RPM packaging(To me). If you guys could guide me I have a war file inside a folder, that folder is inside a tar file as a SOURCE for RPM package. The structure is like below.
[Code]...
I simply want that the war file from sources is transferred to the web app of my tomcat server through RPM. I try to package it as an RPM, but its always giving me errors in %build stage. When I try to remove %build from stage from the spec file, then it says command missing.
My system details are:
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86_64)
VERSION = 10
PATCHLEVEL = 1
LSB_VERSION="core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-noarch:core-2.0-x86_64:core-3.0-x86_64"
When I want upgrade and/or install any package from software.opensuse.org I've got error, "Couldn't find XML file" or anything same this.

I'm new to linux, have been somewhat of a computer geek my whole life and thought it about time that I delved into the world of linux. So I installed ubuntu 10.04 on my computer. I love it. However, I can't get my wireless to work. In my dorms there are no ethernet hookups, so I have to use the wireless. I typed "sudo lshw -class network" into the root terminal. The important things that I figured out was the bus info: pci@0000:4:06.0 and the pysical id: 6 (not sure if the physical id is important but it sounds like it is). I then did a lspci and found that at bus 04:06.0 it is a RaLink Device 3060. I downloaded the .tar file for the driver. I could not find instructions for it online so I followed the ones for the rt2860 driver : [URL].... I could not get it to work, It built ok and installed ok, but when I do the modprobe I get an error saying the device or resource is busy. Either that or that it cannot be found. One thing that I found weird was that I couldn't get it to build a 3060 driver, it would only build a 3562 one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI work at a small company where we use to deploy things by just checking out the repo and copying stuff to production servers. This has to come to an end, enter .deb packages!
So I'm wondering what's the best procedure to do that. I already know how to create .deb packages, most of our stuff is Python and we're going to use python-support and cdbs. But how to maximally automate this?
We have a Git repo and ideally the whole thing should work like this:
* a tag is created in the Git repo (the version can be provided manually)
* some file like 'version.py' is created so that setup.py and the packaged software can refer to it and know the tag
* changelog is created from the Git commit logs
* the package is built (that's the part I've worked out - python-support and cdbs are involved here)
* optionally, the package is uploaded somewhere
There's a .deb package named 'git-buildpackage', is it suitable for this task? So far I can tell that it has one drawback - it looks for the 'debian/' directory in the root of the repository, which is not the case - our repo consists of several subdirectories, each contains a subproject that will be packaged independently.
When I try to play some OpenGL games, I get this error.How can I fix this? My graphics card is Nvidia, and I use the nvidia-current driver.Here's what it says under OpenGL/GLX Information. I don't know if this is the info you need, but oh well.
