I have installed Linphone 3.2.1 for linux on my Lubuntu netbook but have any clue how to configure my voipbuster settings. Have searched the internet but did not find any guidance for this version of Linphone and the documentation on the Linphone website on this subject is very poor.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just installed Lubuntu (from Ubuntu). I would like to add a few items to the right-click menu. I tried doing it using ObMenu as well as directly by editing the configuration files in /home/{user}/.config/openbox, but the default remains unchanged (even after reloading the configurations from the right-click menu or rebooting). Could someone give detailed instructions (e.g. where should I add some apps so as to see on the right click applications list?). The default on my right-click are a file manager, a browser and a terminal.
Also, I dont see a way to edit the main menu (the one at the lower left corner of my screen) anymore, although I remember to have accessed it from the main menu somewhere.
I have tried various rules, like opening port 53 for the DNS with little success. I finally figured that you need to set the source port to 53 and NOT the destination port.However, I have been unable to figure out what ports apt-get requires. The only way I get it to work is to accept everything in iptables.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking about a OS reinstall, using Ubuntu. OK, presently I have: Old desktop machine with Win Vista installed. I have no Vista disk, so when it's gone, its gone for good. The system is set up with BT using ADSL, with a wireless router included. I can access whats called the BT home hub manager through a URL in a web browser, this gives me all specific information with regards to getting online, router etc. My main concerns are: If i do a complete reinstall (Ubuntu) then will i still be able to configure it all with Ubuntu? I'm thinking that BT will probably not support Linux platforms hence any software coming from (i.e. disk) them would be in the form of Windows binaries, about as much use as a handbrake on a canoe as far as Linux is concerned. So, if i take the plunge then; if i can access BT home hub manager through a URI with all pertinent information displayed there - is that all i need to get me up and running? I mean, reinstall, visit BT home hub manager URI and configure Ubuntu with all settings found there?

I had just installed linphone in Fedora 10 using # yum install linphone and face the following problem. I installed linphone in 2 clients via LAN and using IPv4 address, I am able to call each other. However when I changed the preference to use IPv6 in the network (the network support IPv6), I am not able to call to each other using IPv6 address.

In GNOME, I understand that those settings are kept in "/home/user/.gconf". Can I create a virtual machine and configure the system through the GUI to my liking and then dump all of the settings, so that I can load them on another machine? Is it as simple as copying the directories?

The problem is that he did not specify exactly where in /etc/profile. I am trying to make a custom spin of F12 but I cannot do it behind the proxy as it is now.

I had been using fedora 12 since it release and been working wonderfully. Untill my last 2 update, my Voip softphone like twinkle, ekiga and linphone somehow have no sound out from speaker.
1. i can play all video and music with sound coming out from my laptop inbuilt speaker.
2. for twinkle, ekiga and linphone, there's no sound out from my laptop inbuilt speaker.That means, when i call a person, that person can hear me talking (my mic working good) but when he talk i am unable to hear him as no sound coming out from the speaker.
Note: i had call multiple different people and the result is the same.
I am on Gnome desktop with PusleAudio install and running since the releae of F12.
I downloaded linphone 3.30 using mozila and tried installing. while giving the command ./configure it was successful and next giving the command make gives me a error message make file is not found. but makefile.am and makefile.in is already available in the current working directory.

When i configure imap settings in MS outlook 2007 it shows mails are coming from Sendmail server , but another local Personal folder attched with outlook client. I have changed my settings so that every send items mail are coming under imap send-items folder ,but that extra folder stilli in place. I do not see any option how to remove this extra folder from my PST list.? As this never comes with if we are using MS Exchange.. Is there any way i can change my local delivery bydefault with IMAP folder only and save my Contact in IMAP Folder?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just installed OpenSUSE 11.2 on a new machine. Because I was still using another machine as my main box while building the new one, the monitor attached when it was installed has a resolution of 1280x1024 @ 77Hz. I've now moved it to be my main machine and the monitor is a widescreen 1680x1050 @ 60Hz model. When I boot it normally the screen fails to come up - even GDM doesn't show. If I boot in failsafe mode the system comes up fine, but in 1280x1024 mode. The 'Configure display settings' icon shows the monitor as 'Unknown'. Couple of things I tried:
1) Switched to runlevel 2 and logged in as root. Ran Xorg -configure and looked at the xorg.conf.new that was installed, but it just had generic info for the monitor:

2) While still in runlevel 2 and logged in as root I did a startx. This brought up the X display in 1680x1050 ok, and clicking on the 'Configure display settings' icon showed it had correctly identified my monitor and had set the size and frequency correctly.
3) Given the results of (2), I then tried logging in as myself in runlevel 2, did startx again, but this time the display failed to come up again.
I am trying to modify the "Configure Window Behavior" settings so that a new KWrite window will have a default size and location that is not affected by anything I did to a previous KWrite window. I have found that "Force" does that; unfortunately, "Force" also locks the window in position, preventing me from moving or resizing it if I should want to. Is there any setting that forces a default window size and location but allows me to change it?

My USB wifi device is detected in YAST > Hardware and I am using the module it says Hardware is using. It doesn't seem to save the module under YAST> Network Settings> Network Card Setup. Is this tool broken or useless? It seems setting up WiFi should be easier than this. YAST should work shouldn't it?

i have a computer with 3 users on it, and a folder using samba that everyone on the network has access to. Lets say that, the folder is stored in /etc/sharedfolder. What happens is, when user1 puts a folder in it, then logs off, user 2 attempts to modify it and fails, because permission is set to 755, and they are not in the same group. (even if they were, it should still need to be 775) Anyway, my current solution is, every 5 minutes a crontab changes permission like so: chmod 777 -R /etc/sharedfiles && chown useradmin:superadmin -R /etc/sharedfiles Which works, but seeing as there is getting close to a gig in there, this is a bad solution, as it eats up the computers resources. Solutions that i think might work:
1) create a script that only changes permissions that need be changed.
2) change file permission settings to force all documents to inherit parent document settings
I am using Fedora 13 x86_64 on a Acer Aspire 7730ZG laptop with: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G98 [GeForce 9300M GS] (rev a1) I have kmod-nvidia-2.6.33.6-147.2.4.fc13.x86_64-195.36.31-1.fc13.2.x86_64 installed from rpmfuison when I plug in the hdmi cable to the tv, my tv says the resoultion is at 720p, and I can not get any of the resolutions settings to look right on seperate x screen with the nvidia X server settings gui. my tv is a vizo 42inch. also another question is their a way to set the video card to output at 1080? this might be part of my problem?
