I have F15 installed, and under KVM another Fedora 14. I want to cut/paste from F15 application to virtual machine, but could not find any way to do this.
P.S. I use 'spice' option of KVM.
I am trying to find a good virtual keyboard that is in Japanese. there doesn't seem to be much options for virtual keyboards, let alone one in japanese. The only one I have found is xvkbd, but it is very limited and somewhat glitchy. I tried setting it to Japanese, but all that does is add a button to switch to japanese that you annoyingly have to hit every time you want to enter a character. And not only that, even though the keyboard is in hiragana, it inputs katakana. Are there any other options for a virtual Japanese keyboard, or at least a way to get xvkbd to input hiragana?

That would include screen capture and mouse movements. So basically I capture the application window from desktop #2, scrape it and then click on buttons via my app on desktop #1. Anyway you got the idea.Now my big question is: is that doable ? and if so what's the best language to do it ?

Now, at the login, when I click Others, and prompted to type a username, when I clicked on the virtual keyboard at the bottom right corner of my screen, the I-beam icon looses focus from the entry box, and each character pressed on the virtual keyboard does not appear on the entry box. When I try to click on the entry box, focus cannot be returned to the entry (ie. the I-beam icon does not flash at the entry box).

It's more advanced then Midnight Commander and I would like to use it to better understand Debian FS and do console works there. However, I have a problem and it seems that their support forum does not work, so I thought to ask for general help here, in case it's something that can be set in Debian. Problem is that when I run this manager I can't use arrow keys or 'num pad' or PgUp/PgDn/.... pad but only 'central part' of keyboard - regular keys and Fx buttons. So I was wondering if there could be some problem between terminal emulation and this application that can cause such behaviour which is unacceptable for normal usage, obviously.

I just installed the MIDI Virtual Keyboard from the Software centre.Problem is when I hit the keys there's no sound at all.
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong? or if I need to add some other package to make this work?
Any of you ever heard of OS/2 WARP? My dad is a longtime user, as was I until I got my Mac (and now my netbook with Ubuntu). In any case, the OS is a tad...obsolete and my dad at some point wishes to try Ubuntu. In his current setup, he has a "Window List" that can be activated using a keyboard shortcut. It's a popup (not in a menu bar or "panel") that can be moved around and resized. From that you can use your keyboard to navigate to the program or window that you want. For instance, if I want to get to Firefox, I press Ctrl+Escape (to activate the Window List) and then I hit "F" as many times as needed to highlight "Firefox". Then I just hit "Enter" and I'm there. Anything similar out there for Ubuntu (it is preferable if the solution has text as well as icons or else can have the icons removed leaving only the text)
In addition, both him and I would be interested in some program for launching/switching to programs using keyboard shortcuts. On the Mac, I use Quicksilver for this, where it actually Launches the program if it's not open, and switches to it if it is. However, Gnome Do unfortunately lacks this functionality and I have no way to do it off the top of my head.
I use ctrl + shift + s to launch synaptic in KDE. That works wonderful and it is standardized on all my systems. I want to define the same in gnome, so that it does not matter if I'm in gnome or KDE.Where can I do this?Now before you start mentioning, I am familiar with keyboard launchers like launchy or gnome do (but have to admit that I don't know that much what gnome do does in all extents), so I am not looking for a program that launches an app after typing a few letters. I want exactly that keyboard combination, everything else will not do it.

I've been looking for a similar way to accomplish this in (KDE) Kubuntu. I know that you can right-click on a window in the Task Manager and use "To Desktop" to move a window, but I'm just curious if the same thing can be accomplished with the keyboard.

I am experiencing an annoying problem: It has this weird keyboard issue where whenever I am typing in an application, the cursor will jump up and over a few lines. The problem also happened under Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10 and under bios A03.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have spent considerable hours searching forums and googling. I have yet to find out what "lm-sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1:" is actually looking at. I have an Abit IP35 motherboard with Ubuntu 9.04 installed.
Here is the output from sensors:
Virtual Device Temp 1 keeps going up to 121 degrees and the computer shuts down. None of the others overheat. Also, my bios does not show my voltages to be set like it lists above. The bios in the motherboard is the latest from Abit.

I have 2 virtual hosts (example1.com, example2.com). example1.com works but example2.com is sent to the index file of example1.com. I did some searching on google and it seems the problem might be with my /etc/hosts file.
First virtual host that the second is also directed to...in sites-available/sites-enabled (note port 80 is blocked by my isp so I use 8080)
