Software :: Start Again To Add A Few More Tweeks And To Burn It Off But Now It Wont Even Open Project?
Oct 14, 2010
I am under pressure to create a DVD with a menu etc etc for my mother-in-law whom I will be seeing in South Africa this weekend. So installed "dvdstyler" created what I think a presentable welcome screen, menu, buttons etc etc. Saved it as "dvd.xml".I went out and came back to start again to add a few more tweeks and to burn it off but now it wont even open my project. When I open the application via a terminal I get some output of errors which I have posted below. This is kind of out of my realm of knowledge so has anyone got any clue what this might mean?
Code:
(dvdstyler:22141): Gtk-WARNING **: gtk_menu_attach_to_widget(): menu already attached to GtkMenuItem
im trying to burn an audio cd with brasero, when i select the audio files to add to the project i get an error message saying :"Track 1.wav" could not be opened." and :"Track 1.wav" is not suitable for audio or video media."i also tried the "copy cd" option, the program recognizes the audio cd in my drive but when i press the copy button the window disappears and nothing happen.i had a similar problem lately see thread - cant burn dvd,but this time i want to try and use brasero instead of k3b
I'm trying to use BlueJ 3.0.2 on Ubuntu 10.04, but I can't do nothing. I mean: I can't create new project or open existing one.I installed it twice times without problems.I did not find anything either with google or in the developers' website.
I'm starting a open source project which involves web based Java, JBoss application server and JBoss Seam framework. I'm a student and I work on the project in my free time for training. Every one who want to take a part in this hobby project in his free time is invited. Send me e-mail.
I was trying to install java on 10.04 in firefox. Now whenever I try to get new software, there is none to be found. I am getting the error message "E: Malformed line 54 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse) E: the list source cannot be read". To top it all off, I still cannot get java to function. I am pretty new to this.
I'm trying to make a program for Windows Me and linux that will mimic/imitate Windows Security Center. Maybe put it in the cloud? WIndows Me is good, it doesn't matter that Windows Me is discontinued, and I'm not trolling. But my main focus is linux.
I don't have Linux yet but I'm almos ready to change from windows to Linux. I'm working on a web site that I built with Frontpage. I did a lot of works on it and I just want to know if they have an open source compatible with linux that could open and let me edit the projet I already beguin? I realy don't want to loose all my work! So I need to know if is possible before I change to Linux.
Is there any reason why taskjuggler is not included in openSUSE? I can see a version available in openSUSE Factory but it is not built with latest libs. I have several of my friends asking for Project Management software under openSUSE and I don't know what to advise them.
How tp build a multi-touch table on Ubuntu 10.04. I've starting some research and I see there have been some folks out there have done this on a windows environment...i want to be able to get this going on a Linux environment. what I've found so far is there an open source multi touch project going on called tbeta...not sure if any of you are familiar with tbeta. Has anyone gotten tbeta to work on Ubuntu 10.04? If there are other multi-touch projects going on and working under Linux (hopefully Ubuntu 10.04)
I will open firefox then scroll to file-quit firefox, firefox closes fine but when i want to open firefox again it wont, i have to restrate opensuse 11.4 linux 2.6.37.6-0.7 kde 4.6.0.0.
When booting up my IBM Thinkpad Ubuntu stalls giving the following messages:
Cannot open root device "uuid=58a5831c-5757-49f8.....
Kernal Panic - not syncing: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block
Spurious ACK on isa0060/serio0. Some program might be trying to access hardware directly.
I am or was using Hardy.
It seems to me that the program is telling me it can't find the hard drive or the partition where the OS resides. I have my drive partitioned with into sections for booting, the OS and my Home directory.
I'm a .net programmer, and I'm looking to get more into open source software. I'd be happy to join a project, and hopefully learn something new. Where can I start?
Every time I try to start rhythmbox all it does is open for like a split second and then close again. Only thing I did was install updates and then this started happening.
Im having an issue after I install likewise-open it works fine until i restart the machine the lsassd service won't start for any reason and it's status is dead. Any one run into this issue before?
When I open a terminal and start the 'top' command to view the running processes, in the summary view I get 4 users. I guess that in addition to my account the root runs in the background but who are the other 2??
with slackware 13.0 for one user xfce4 hangs and doesn't start..xsession.errors claim it can't open display. It works fine for other users. Also if I access the machine in question as the same user but remotely using remote X (X-terminal on my LAN) it works fine.Sometimes if I wait and count to 30 it comes up but a lot of the features don't work.During the last week have posted this question on the compuserve linux forum and also in the xfce site forum with no solutions.seems there must be something in that user's directory which is hanging it up. I keep the same /home/users directory on a separate partition so when I upgrade for new versions of slackware the /home/users remain the same - I symlink home to that partition so upgrades are somewhat seemless.
I've just installed Ubuntu and noticed that there are two tool bars. The one at the top says applications, places, system and then there is also one at the bottom. Is it possible to have just a single toolbar that has a "start button", "quick launch icons" and open applications?
I'm running Fedora 15, and am trying to run a program that uses gsoap/soapcpp2 2.7.17 to communicate with different parts of the program. As far as I know everything has compiled correctly and I am using the same versions of the required libraries as several working installations. However, every single time the program tries to open a port, the program is unable to do so. This happens no matter what port I specify.
if there is anything in fedora that would limit or disable the ability of the program to open a port to start communicating. I have tried disabling the firewall with no change to the behaviour.
I set up opensuse 11.4. I updated nvidia 6600 drivers from vendor. Everything is good until automatic kernel update. When I start the system, opensuse is not open with this lines.
/etc/rc.status: line 1: /bin/ash : no such file or directory bash: ./etc/sysconfig/chron : cannot execute binary file X_MOUSE_CURSOR : Undefined variable
I have been searching for information about the ways Debian allows for anyone wishing to give a helping hand to the project. I found that joining maintainer groups, helping in writing documentation, bug reporting and financial help are all accepted, but what I intend, was never mentioned.
Is it possible to help Debian by submitting original source code? Yes, it is true that I contacted GNU about this, but the decision is still mine, and GNU is not binding me to give my source to them.
The source code I am talking about, took more than a year to complete and debug, and has been working without problems for more than ten years. Furthermore, it has no dependences as it does NOT delegate part of its functionality to other existing projects.
Although, I am still in my early forties, and as far as I know, I don't have any life threatening illness, we are all mortal, and I don't want my work, that took many months of hard work and concentration, to be erased to make room for the only operating system my heirs know.
Does Project M work on Fedora, and if so, what desktop. I suspect it might work on Gnome but not LXDE. I have an Intel graphics card so that should be OK.
I am an undergraduate anthropology student doing research for my dissertation on the F/OSS community.I'm interested in are forking (What sort of thing causes/averts a fork? Have you ever participated in one?), the process of decision making (Is consensus democracy effective? Where do communication structures often break down?) and any other reflections or thoughts that you think are relevant.
