If Google Chrome uses Webkit and gives 100/100 on the acid3 test, why does the GtkLauncher program that comes with Webkit give me 92/100? I checked out the latest source code from svn today.

I searched for this issue on the web and found among others this:[URL].. I downgraded Flash to 10.0.45xxx and it seems like Konqueror runs fine with webkit now. Applications :: Webkit Uses Wrong Chinese Font

Apr 27, 2010

After installing wqy-zenhei chinese font, everything used it perfectly except Midori browser. It seems to be stuck on the ancient 'fixed' font set, which is abysmal for Chinese. It also takes ages to load a page with Chinese, pretends to freeze for a minute or two. I've played with Midori's appearance settings, selecting UTF-8, but to no avail.

OpenSUSE :: Find All The Build-deps Or What They Are For That Matter To Build Boxee

Feb 20, 2010

I'm in love with my Opensuse 11.2. Love my KDE 4.4. The only thing I miss from my Ubuntu installation, is the ability to use Boxee. I would be more than willing to compile Boxee from source. I only have 2 problems with that:

1) I don't know where I can find all the build-deps or what they are for that matter to build Boxee.

2) I'm running on a Netbook. Yes, my measly Intel Atom is no fun for compiling and building.

What are my options/what can I do to get Boxee up and running on 11.2? I've tried searching on build service for an RPM, but I think due to legal restrictions, Boxee can't be on there.

Slackware :: Install The I386 Build On One Partition And The 64-bit Build On Another

Sep 16, 2010

Trying to install SW 13.1 (on DVD) on the following system: M/B Intel: DX38BT Processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 - 2.66GHz, 8MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB, Socket 775 Memory Corsair Dual Channel 8192MB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Memory (4x2048MB) Graphics Diamond Radeon HD 3850 Video Card - Viper, 512MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0 P/S Ultra 1000W

My goal is to install the i386 build on one partition and the 64-bit build on another. I have been away from Linux for a while and am sick to death of Win7, want to come home. :-}

Booted on i386 side of DVD, system freezes after a couple of lines that start with ATA2. Does not respond to 3 finger salute, ctrl-c, nothing. Have to press reset. I have tried both huge.s and hugesmp.s kernels

Booted on 64-bit side, comes up fine. I performed the install, selected for automatic lilo install. Lilo install hung but I was able to reboot. I booted off the 64-bit side again, entered the following: huge.s root=/dev/sde3 rdinit= ro It booted fully to the login prompt but the keyboard does not work, no input.

Software :: What Exactly Does Test Mean In Rpm Name?

Jul 28, 2009

So I have CentOS 5 with Nagios installed from the RPM Forge repositories and I found something from security focus that says I should upgrade to a 3.1.x version of Nagios. The upgrade does not show up if I do a "yum upgrade", so I looked in repositories manually by package and found nagios-3.1.0-1.el5.test.i386.rpm from 27-Jan-2009 00:27 (http://packages.sw.be/nagios/). I'm thinking this doesn't show up in my upgrade path since the package name has "test" in it. Is this a normal part of the package release process for CentOS? It seems like if this package has been around since January it would have been moved over to the regular package name by now, but I'm not really sure the deal is.

General :: Best Way To Test A Distro?

Jun 25, 2010

What is the best way to test a distro? As a newbie, I am trying out several different distro's. I run them from a live CD and see if they are easy for me to set up my wireless, can be configured to multiple monitors, corectly recognize my hardware. I then connect to the internte and see if it plays videos or needs codecs downloaded, then connect to the reository and download any needed codecs, or pick a random program and see how easy it is to download and install.

Is this a reasonable way to check out a distro, or should I be looking at something else? Keep in mind, I am a newbie who is a user, not a hacker, and know nothing of the commandline yet.

Ubuntu :: How To Test Usb Ports

Jan 5, 2010

I want to test automatically if the USB ports are in use.
I want to test it in a bash script

I found some information about ttyUSB0 in the /dev/

The problem is, there is usb hub between the system and the mouse/keyboard. The other USB port is in use for the Ubuntu live usb.
When I open the /dev/ map virtual and pull out the usb keyboard the hidraw1 diappears, same for the keyboard.
When both are out and I pull out the usb hub, nothing happens.

Do anyone know how to test it?

General :: Test An Rpm By Doing A Yum Install?

Jun 16, 2010

I am trying to test an rpm by doing a yum install. It should not install and report a dependency conflict as there is deliberately another package installed it should conflict with but it is installing over the existing package. When I do this via an rpm -i it correctly does not install.

Detail below -

The SPEC file has the conflicts below

Conflicts: test_DEV = 1-0, test_UAT = 1-0, test_PRD = 1-0

If test_DEV is already installed for 1-0 and I try and install 1-1 via rpm is correctly conflicts -

rpm -qa | grep -i test
test_DEV-1-0
rpm -i test_DEV-1-1.noarch.rpm

error: Failed dependencies:

test_DEV = 1-0 conflicts with test_DEV-1-1.noarch

Yet when I install both via yum it allows me to install 1-1 over 1-0 which I don't want.

It appears to complete the process just fine. But I noticed that the number of rows for the restored database is slightly less than what was backed up.

Is this normal or should the numbers be exactly the same? It's only a difference of about 28 rows. I seem to be able to view the data just fine in the query tool.
