I have looked at several Podcast retrieving applications. However, none I have found so far do anything good with the Podcast information.
Almost every podcast contains tags that could be populated into metadata tags, it would seem, fairly easily. Having a podcast grabber that did so would certainly simplify using them on my iPod.
i would change the tag it applies then it reverts i have even edited them with easy tag it appears to keep but rhythmbox does not register the change and it revers if i change it there aside from re-encoding them is there a way to change the tag on them

The panel is not expanded and the autohide buttons are not checked. As you can see I've set the background to transparent and removed the shadow via ccsm. The only thing that doesn't look nice are the "grabbers" to move the panel arround. Can they be modified to be transparent too? Maybe editing the theme?
I cannot set the panel to expand because I use a dock which would be partly covered by the panel.
I have a few AWS instances (linux micro, fedora-like) that occasionally (4x every 24hours) trip a CloudWatch monitor for CPU utilization. alarm => 85% at 5 minute slices.
The problem with this is that we're unsure WHAT is causing it. I have an idea to poll cpu usage every 5 mins and if there's a spike (eg, => 85%) then dump some process table stuff exposing the offenders.
Recently I have working on an older robot that I got which happens to have an onboard computer (Versalogic VSBC-8) on which I was able to install Lenny on. This system also has a Imagenation PCX200 frame grabber installed on it as well. The problem I am having is that no matter which software I use in Lenny, webcam,etc,etc I either get an error that the device is in use or I get a blank screen, The camera that is hooked up to it works fine as I had tested it on another pc. I also verified that the permissions were set correctly for the device in /dev
I have been googling for any kind of information on how to get this working with Lenny without much luck, before I had installed Lenny it had an old version of Redhat 8 installed on it, unfortunately the hard drive died and it was replaced, hence lenny.
I've been trying to get my Hauppauge USB Live 2 video grabber to work under Ubuntu 10.04. I have installed the drivers, and using TVTime I get a perfect picture - but no sound, and also I can't record with it. I have found a guide on how to get it with sound using MythTV, but it seems I fail at setting it up. It tells me it couldn't find the backend server, but it's running in my terminal.

Is there a Ubuntu program that can not only download podcasts but sync with an android phone? then arrange the playlist from ubunutu side.
Not looking forward to manually transferring them over and arranging them on the mounted drive the phone creates.
Also not an option to download podcasts straight to the phone what with the plan I'm on
I would like to copy any new podcasts to my MP3 player from my Gpodder downloads. I would also like to delete any ones that are 3 days or older on both player and pc.
My player auto mounts as /media/COWON
and
the podcasts are in the directory AAPodcasts
so it is -
/media/COWON/AAPodcasts
On my pc they are in -
/home/lone/gpodder-downloads/LinuxOutlaws
/home/lone/gpodder-downloads/Twit
and so on and so on
Is there some script I could use?
I know this is probably not the best place to ask, but I don't really know where else to go.I'm looking for a lightweight program that can run in the background all the time, and automatically download new podcasts from rss links I give it. View 1 Replies View RelatedI grabbed Amarok off Synaptic since it's the only full featured media player I could find with OPML import, audio and video podcasting, etc. (Sorry, audio-only Rhythmbox - any other suggestions? I want to sync podcasts to my iPod classic as well, and cut the ties to Win 7)Anyways on Amarok I was able to successfully import my 20+ podcast feeds in a couple of clicks with the OPML import, and I then downloaded a test audio podcast.
On trying to play this podcast, however, the progress bar just shot across the screen, no audio was produced, and the podcast ended right away.I tried playing a radio stream as well from the Internet/Radio feature and no audio there either. It definitely was not muted.
Is this an Ubuntu problem? Something with this 'GStreamer' thingy? - I don't know what that is, but I need to pretend I know something about this here fancy Ubuntu jargon. Amarok played a test .ogg I recorded using Sound Recorder but that's all I've gotten to work so far.And if this is worth reporting as a bug, could someone please let me know what additional logs or info I should submit to launchpad. I know Rhythmbox support Podcast, But I was wondering if there is any tool for Rhythmbox that would allow you Find, subscribe, and download audio podcasts from a podcast directory. that would save me from having to enter the urls. I think Amarok does that but I dont use the KDE desktop
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo i want to go full ubuntu, but i have one problem lol my ipod i subscribe to coast to coast podcast and was trying to setup my podcast in rhytm box but it wont connect its a password protected podcast "paid for it" my problem is i see nowhere to add my user nam and password for this podcast i donloaded gpodder and that allows me to connect and put my password and username in, anyone have any ideas on how i can get rhymbox to do this.. is there a better program to handle my ipod and podcast other than Rhytmbox

After one of latest update I have problem with meta keys (like shift, ctrl and alt) in KDE. When I press one of this keys, it sometimes stays active after release and deactivates only after I press it again. It's annoying especially while I'm writing some code (php or html) and meta keys randomly stays active after release.

I recently installed Chromium and went to listen to one of my favorite podcasts, only to find that it wouldn't play. Like the title says, it plays perfectly well in Firefox. Is there some Chromium extension I need in order to play .mp3 files?

I have one podcast that i listen to that i need a username and password to download it. I am using version 2.1 on Fedora, i downloaded the latest version on my Ubuntu machine (2.5) and it works perfectly. its differences with Ubuntu (started my linux usage with Ubuntu). Could this be the result of a file gpodder uses not having the correct user permissions?

Banshee donwloads my video and audio podcasts but can't replay them within the program. I have to go manually (Dolphin) to the corresponding folders and replay them using mPlayer, which is not very handy / fiendly. I tried to install Miro, and so far has not worked (see post here)

i just encoded a mkv file and i noticed that once i remove the .mkv from the file name ubuntu no longer knows how to open the file. i have removed the .extension from my other video files and ubuntu plays it just find so im thinking there is no meta data for my newly encoded mkv file. how do i add meta data for my video file? i have mkvmerge installed but have no clue how to use it also i have avidemux installed can i use either of those programs?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if complete removal of meta-packages, that being the package itself AND all of its dependencies, is possible in one command of aptitude and/or apt-get. For instance, if I have the whole kde installed, and wish to remove that whole load and replace it with the smaller kdebase, can I do this in two commands (IE, "aptitude remove kde", and then followed by "aptitude install kdebase"). The preceding commands wouldn't work, because just removing the initial meta-package would not remove its dependent packages. BUT, I'm wondering if there is a way to remove a meta-package AND its dependent packages all in one command (rather than having to go through individually removing each one).
