i want a program that can convert my voice recording from the microphone to text on a word processor, is there such a program. how do I install it and use it. and is it free and for Linux because I don't want to use virtualbox and I don't have windows any more but unless it works with wine it will do

The machine is to be completely controlled by voice and would be programmed to issue vocals in response to vocal requests for what is in the various databases and I/O software, such as motion control and other sensor subsystems. In other words, a program that lends itself to AI robotics.I do not have the time to develop CMSphinx, and I am willing to pay. I have been on a few sites but they are cryptic as far as the technicals, which I do not fully understand anyway.

Why are there no programs that allow for Voice calls to individual users? (not chat rooms, as I greatly despise them, but calls from one user to another) I was told Gyachi has that, but everything I tried does not work. Pidgin doesn't allow for voice chatting either, and the only version of Yahoo messenger that is available for Unix is extremely old and outdated.

Here's what I've searched (tried some of them too) and the results:LiVES -> can't compile with kernel 2.6.38, the offered patch (in sf) rejected (maybe different source file from the one specified in the patch)Cinerella, can't accept mkv or mp4. I am working on a robot project and the robot uses a custom light version of Linux (it has the Freescale Dragonball CPU in the bot so it doesn't have much "room"). We are using flite to do text-to-speech. I would like to know if there is a way to create a vocoder voice for this? Is there already a vocoder voice that works with flite or festival? Or is there some kind of voice creator that can be used to create voices for flite/festival?

It really is an excellent piece of software, though unfortunately it doesn't play well with Gnome. And I REALLY don't want to switch to KDE. Their website hasn't been updated in awhile, and their powers-that-be are requesting help with programming one. If it doesn't exist is their anyone that I could request/beg/bribe to make one?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Ubuntu 9.10 trying to get yahoo voice chat to work. Thing I have tried is Gyache now everything works but I cant talk. I can hear but not talk. When I hit the talk button the program goes grey. I have wine installed with Yahelite but when I open up YahVox I get the box open and no one is in there. Ycabby does not work for so I download the three cabs and extracted the files and copped the files to the system32 folder. I tried to the mighty google but I get a whole lot of nothingness.

The headphones are working because the speakers mute and I can hear musical instruments playing on the track, but I can't hear any of the voices in the music.It's as if the voices are muted, but I can still hear the guitars, drums, bass, etc. When I unplug the headphones the track plays normally, voices and all, through the speakers.

Let me explain some more, what i want to do is to keep on speaking and it should be recorded in a file which i can process at the same time.
