I haven't been able to use clamav for a few weeks now. The problem I am having is the share library libclamav.so.6 won't open. I have tried reinstalling it but that doesn't seem to work.
after upgrading ClamAV to version 0.97.1 and run the command Code: clamscan -r -i / --exclude-dir=^/sys --exclude-dir=^/dev --exclude-dir=^/proc | mail -s "clamav scan report XYSERVER" xy@mail.com the following errors appeared:
Can I change the default path for any or all of the different crontab files?
Can they be changed independently? for example can the user mark get one path for cron jobs, Lynn get another, and root get yet a third, or are they always going to be the same?
How do I change them?
Hello fellow Linux users:
I know there are several crontab files on my computer. One each for each user, and it looks like one for root, maybe others?
I think there is only one cron handler that reads all the different crontab files and does what it is told.
If I do from my command line, I get:
Code: mark@server:~$echo $PATH /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games If I schedule a similar command in my own crontab file by using Code: mark@server:~$crontab -e with the following line:
I am semi new to UBUNTU worked a bit with it in the passed on vps and that. but i am currentaly tring to make a module for *Zpanel* i am making an anti virus module and am going to be using clamav. up to now everything has been going smoothly but i have hit massive problem.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
I dont get any install. and the information i have collect from people say that and install should not be stopped becuase of an depend
So as any one who is semi new would do i then tried installing the depend

I have UBUNTU 11.04 desktop (with zpanel installed on it)
*zpanel an open source web hosting panel for windows and NOW LINUX (zpanel has just been release on UBUNTU ONLY ).
Open a new terminal either in tab or new windows,The default work directory is $HOMEDoes anyone know how to change it to `pwd`, so every time a new terminal starts form the same path as the mother terminal (the terminal user calls new from).
How to determine what type of files clamav can scan? For example, if there is no unrar installed it can't scan files in it. So is there any way to find out all types of files that clamav can't scan?
I have seen that we can scan for viruses and also virus infected files with ClamAV but is there any possibility that ClamAV can repair virus infected files.
I'm trying to make a reference to a second hard drive that is not part of the main file system, so I changed all the references to /var/www to /media/HD1/www and I have set the permissions on the entire hard drive to allow reading, and I still get a 403 forbidden error when I attempt to access my site, everything works when I just use the default path. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with apache2 installed through the package manager...
I have my server setup so I have to create the user account and directory structure for a domain, add the domain to the httpd.conf file, but then I can create subdomains by adding a folder.
I have a server im trying to use with clamAV to scan it all and with cron job. it worked fine for few days, sending me emails with reports, i was happy. now i get ERR emails and when running manually i get the follwing message output: Script: clamav-cron v. 0.6 - Copyright 2009, Stefano Stagnaro Scanned: /
I installed "jdk1.6.0.bin" and "jre1.6.0.bin" successfully. But I don't know where they are installed. I can't find anywhere. What is the default path they are installed.I want to set JAVA_HOME.
I've just built gcc 4.6.0 by myself since there is no update in Mandriva yet and I really needed the updated version, but I must be missing something in its configuration. I added ~/apps/gcc460/bin in front of my PATH, and the lib dir to my LD_LIBRARY_PATH in my .bash_profile, like so:
I still have gcc 4.4.2 installed, but it's now hidden, so gcc --version correctly yields 4.6.0. I finally tried to build my project, all went fine, but at the moment of running it I get: Code: ./EugGame.Release.Linux: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by ./EugGame.Release.Linux)
I assume the correct version is the one located in ~/apps/gcc460/lib, but how do I make my project load the correct lib? Is it possible at all to have two versions of gcc on the same machine? I just found that I should've added lib64 to my LD_LIBRARY_PATH instead of lib. Anyways, even if the problem is solved, I'd like to hear if my configuration is well made or if I should leave LD_LIBRARY_PATH unset and use some other way to override the default search path for stdlib.
I'm running a server with CentOS 5 where the software that needs to run on the server uses ifconfig to verify the system IPv4.The problem is that /sbin isn't set for the user that is supposed to run the software (sadmin) which means the software can't execute ifconfig and thus terminates.now the workaround I've been using is simply to input.
I think I made one tweak too far and as a result have lost my desktop - no top panel, launcher just a blank screen with my desktop background. I've created a new user and everything is fine under that account so I don't think it is terminal. which files I should delete/replace to restore the desktop back to it's default settings? I've deleted the .gnome2, .gconf and .gconfd folders but that has not solved the problem.
This started happening sometime yesterday afternoon on a server that's been trouble free for years.
My Ubuntu update is scheduled to run every month on the 5th, so this was roughly 10 days after that. So it seems to me it's not update related. The only thing I've done on the server lately is update a spamassassin rule which required an amavis restart. That was done earlier in the week.
I've already reviewed issues at [url] and all the conditions are correct for the more recent How to.
I can also confirm that, in fact, /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl does not exist.
On Unix I can call certain programs from everywhere, like sort, pwd or my_custom_script.sh. How can I find out, where on the system my_custom_script.sh really resides?
I am trying to install Staden on a Ubuntu 10.04 machine (64bit). It requires a number of dependencies to be installed prior to configuring the source. I was fortunate to find all of them using the synaptic package manager. now for the configure command I need to specify where these dependencies are as options.
how do I find the programs that I need to reference as options to the configure command such as: tcl, tk, zlib, xz utils, libpng, curl, tklib, itcl, itk, etc. Is there a standard directory that synaptic uses or what?
I'm using bash scripting to find any file that matches a path governed by the following regular expression:
"(monthly|nightly).[0-9]+/home/(user1|user2)/.mailbox/" to match files like: monthly.9/home/user1/.mailbox/l23131564 nightly.15/home/user2/.mailbox/cur/6546213
I find it incredible that installing and running reputable software such as Clamav on my system should be a major problem. I have openSUSE 11.3 with kde 4.5.2 desktop and when I try and install clamav using Yast the files are downloaded into old kde3 directory and nothing works.
I just noticed that my ClamAV is too old, and it will no longer start:
Starting ClamAV daemon: clamd LibClamAV Warning: *********************************************************** LibClamAV Warning: *** This version of the ClamAV engine is outdated. *** LibClamAV Warning: *** DON'T PANIC! Problem is, that there is no newer version for Debian Lenny.I did my aptitude-update and aptitude safe-upgrade, but nothing newer is available.I want to stay within stable (cuz it is a production server). What am I to do?
I got my version of clamav working and it's fully updated. Problem is I can't seem to get my LibClamAV to function correctly. The output of #freshclam works But when I do: #service clamd.amavisd restart
This is the error:
LibClamAV Warning: *********************************************************** LibClamAV Warning: *** This version of the ClamAV engine is outdated. *** LibClamAV Warning: *** DON'T PANIC! Read http://www.clamav.net/support/faq *** LibClamAV Warning: ***********************************************************
My version is updtodate and I am unsure why the error. I am using amavisd-new-2.5.2 (20070627) and Clamav 0.95.3
