I managed to get lm-sensors working it has no initialization at bootime:Quote:Do you want to generate /etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors? (yes/NO): yCopy prog/init/lm_sensors.init to /etc/init.d/lm_sensorsfor initialization at boot time. You should now start the lm_sensors service to load the requiredkernel modules.I've already copied 'prog/init/lm_sensors.init' to '/etc/init.d/lm_sensors' but it doesn't work. I still have i manutally have to load 'coretemp' to be able to have a temperature output from the command "sensors"

how should I read below output of lm_sensors ? Im interested ONLY with temp1 and temp2.I suspect that temp1 presents motherboard chipset temp and temp2 CPU temp. I hope this is like this... but I have no 100% assurance.

With kernel 2.6.35 I get wrong readings on lm_sensors. They are about 20C off than the real values (e.g. if the CPU is at 50C, lm_sensors will show 70C). If I boot with any other kernel (like 2.6.32) I get the correct values. I'm using the 'coretemp' module on an Acer 7720 laptop. My distro is 64-bit Arch Linux.

I recently built a cluster with Centos 5.3 and nodes that used different versions of the w83627ehf sensors chip. On some nodes sensors-detect detected the chip:
Found `Winbond W83627DHG Super IO Sensors' Success!(address 0x290, driver `w83627ehf')
But starting lm_sensors returned the error: Starting lm_sensors: No sensors found!
On other nodes sensors-detect did not detect the chip at all: Found unknown chip with ID 0xb073(logical device B has address 0x290, could be sensors)

Installing f10 on an x86_64 platform from CD or netinst. I can't seem to find a way to have it install i386 compatible (32-bit) software at the same time. Is there a repo that has to be enabled? In f8 i think it was just a box to click somewhere.

I would like to try out fc10 on an old, k6-2 pc. Last night I tried to download the dvd, but firefox 'completed' the download with only 1.2/~3xg, and of course it didn't work.
I am trying a test net installation in VirtualBox, so far so good.
However, I would rather have a more complete installation on hand and I'm looking at the full install cd's --there are 6 of them.
[url]
Are all 6 required for a minimal install, or could I get by with one (or two, etc)? For example, with debian installation cds you can use just the first one -- the rest are just a complete set of packages for everything +kitchen sink.

There's a certain program I'm trying to run that will only work with the 32-bit version of a certain library - the 64-bit version included in the repository won't work for it. I found an i386 .deb package online (made for ubuntu but it should work with regular debian), but when I try to install it, it says incorrect architecture, use amd64 version instead.
How can I force it to accept the i386 version of this package?

I am having problems installing Debian 7.7 i386 on the newest HP DL380 GEN9 server with P440ar storage array. The disk detection during installation fails to detect the array.
I have pinpointed the problem to hpsa.ko driver to be outdated as I need a minimum version from September 2014. I have already tried following the guide on " [URL]" but the driver compiling from sources fails (guide is from 2012).
Here is where I got the latest sources: [URL]....
Is there any possible way to install this debian version with this storage array? Newer kernel version is really not an option for me.
