Trying to find the CPU temperature, I found this lm_sensors is what I need..I do this;

I managed to get lm-sensors working it has no initialization at bootime:Quote:Do you want to generate /etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors? With kernel 2.6.35 I get wrong readings on lm_sensors. They are about 20C off than the real values (e.g. if the CPU is at 50C, lm_sensors will show 70C). If I boot with any other kernel (like 2.6.32) I get the correct values. I'm using the 'coretemp' module on an Acer 7720 laptop. My distro is 64-bit Arch Linux.

I recently built a cluster with Centos 5.3 and nodes that used different versions of the w83627ehf sensors chip. On some nodes sensors-detect detected the chip:
Found `Winbond W83627DHG Super IO Sensors' Success!(address 0x290, driver `w83627ehf')
But starting lm_sensors returned the error: Starting lm_sensors: No sensors found!
On other nodes sensors-detect did not detect the chip at all: Found unknown chip with ID 0xb073(logical device B has address 0x290, could be sensors)

Never had any issues before with grub picking up my old systems, but grub2 just isn't working.I've installed mint OK and it boots fine. But the main grub menu doesn't show, it just boots straight into mint.This includes the rescue entries in the menus - it neither shows them or any custom entries.If I run a test in virtualbox without using raid it picks up my old suse distro no problem and gives me an entry at boot.But using md it wont.

None of the apps will work on DSL. Example Firefox or notepad will not open. FF says input/output error. it is a compaq presario laptop with win xp sp3 in case that is important. I am not sure if the windows reference is important at all?
