Slackware :: Pedro Mendes Re:pdfedit - "checking For Docbook Xsl... Configure: Error: Unable To Find Docbook.xsl Stylesheet"
Jul 30, 2010
I'm running Slack 13.1 [32 bit] Re: pdfedit from SlackBuilds 13.1. I've installed qt3 per the dependencies w/installpkg. I've pointed pdfedit.SlackBuilds to where qt3 is and it's found fine. The problem arises when the build can't find docbook stylesheets. "checking for docbook xsl... configure: error: unable to find docbook.xsl stylesheet"
I've installed docbook.xsl where it can be found which is in the same folder qt3 support is found and verified my system can find it there,, which it does. I still get the can't find stylesheet error. Is this a glitch or am I overlooking something somewhere along the line?
I'm completely new to DocBook, but am writing a few things I'd like to use it for. I'm looking to get away from the standard stylesheet (I'm using Ubuntu, and at the moment I use /usr/share/docbook-utils/docbook-utils.dsl). Is there anywhere I can browse different ones on the web to find one I like, that formats to HTML and PS/PDF?Am I even going about this in the right way? As much as I try and learn, I just can't fit it into my head how everything fits together with DocBook.
When I do #./pdfedit.SlackBuil I get the information in the terminal:
[Code]...
Whether we want to checking PDFedit prepare-core-dev package ... yes Whether we want to checking build PDFedit gui ... yes configure: error: QTDIR environment variable must Be Set
I have been looking at the docs in the KDE help centre, but I prefer to store some reading on paper to refer to when away from the computer. So. I don't seem to be able to print from the KDE Help Center, since it's greyed out. Anyone know how to somehow get the docbook files out to my printer instead?
I am trying to install PDFedit however after un-zipping and running configure at the end i get this message:checking whether we want to prepare pdfedit-core-dev package... no checking whether we want to build PDFedit gui... yes configure: error: QTDIR environment variable must be set
now i have installed libqt3-mt-dev this error is solve but new error is comming this is followingly i didn't understand------------->checking for KDE... configure: error:in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix!
I downloaded Go-OpenOffice from SlackBuilds.org, but I can't build it. make terminates with configure error: checking for C compiler default output file name. configure: error: in `/tmp/SBo/ooo-build-3.1.1.5': configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables See `config.log' for more details.
(I can't find config.log anywhere) I use a quite 'light' installation (no xap, ap), and I suspect that I have some unmet dependencies, but the error message provides no information about what software is needed (I've installed all dependencies listed on SlackBuilds.org). I'm using Slackware64-13 with Xfce
Now i have 64 bit computer i installed Slackware 23 64 bit on it. i followed Alien Bob's multi lib how to and installed needed libraries one by one. everything is fine expect wine configure script can not find some libraries needed: libgsm, libmpg123, libopenal, libxcomposite.
I have already installed 32 bit compatibility packages and used /etc/profile.d/32bit.sh as recommended in Alien Bob's howto. configure -- does not really list anything for pointing for libraries.
trying to install gnucash 2.2.9 from SlackBuilds. I have the current versions of slib and guile installed (slib from slackbuilds and guile from slackware). when installing slib I get the following:
Executing install script for slib-3b2-i486-2_SBo.tgz. ERROR: In procedure primitive-load-path: ERROR: Unable to find file "slib/guile.init" in load path Package slib-3b2-i486-2_SBo.tgz installed.
Slib is installed. Try to run gnucash and I get the following: gnc.bin-Message: main: binreloc relocation support was disabled at configure time.
ERROR: In procedure primitive-load-path: ERROR: Unable to find file "slib/guile.init" in load path guile.init is in usr/lib/slib as it should be. I'm lost - where should I look next?
I am trying to install gcc 4.2.4 I specifcially need C++ 4.2.4 and gfortran 4.2.4. I successfully installed gcc 4.4.1 through yast. However, the software I am trying to compile will not compile with 4.4.1. After contacting the software support, they inform me that it will only compile with 4.2.4. So, I searched yast with no luck. I have found a .tar.bz2 on the internet. I attempted to configure and then build. I get the following error after running the make command.
configure: error: cannot find neither zip nor jar, cannot continue
I had dual screen config (large desktop) going on 11.2 with proprietary nvidia driver without problems. After upgrade to 11.3 this didin't work. I was not able to find a way to configure nouveau drivers, and it was stuck in the 'twinview' mode, so decided to install binary nvidia instead (the 'hard way'). Took me a while to figure out 'nomodeset' thing, but in the end drivers were installed successfully. The problem now is that only monitor displays anything, and I can't find the nvidia control panel to activate second monitor and extend the desktop there.
Used to be able to install nvidia control panel easily in 11.2 with one-click install, but for 11.3 the page says that the one-click install buttons aren't ready yet (SDB:NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE) So my question is 'how to get dual screen going and extend my desktop to second screen using 11.3 and nvidia 210 card' ? And I don't care whether it's nouveau or proprietary drivers, as long as it's easy to configure and it works.
after update to slackware current 4 days ago i cant get sound working in wine in starcraf 2 i mean i got sound in instalation but not in game and i get error when i wanna configure sound in winecfg

I can't configure Bluetooth in Slackware 13.1. It basically works. I can scan my mobile phone: Code: $ hcitool scan Scanning ... BA:BE:DE:AD:AB:ED Nokia 6300
But when I try other commands, mobile phone asks me about passcode. Because I don't know it pairing fails: Code: $ gammu 6300 --identify Error opening device. Unknown, busy or no permissions.
On the other hand when I try to pair computer using mobile phone it doesn't find any device. Code: Pair new device Searching for devices No devices found
In Slackware 13.0 to configure Bluetooth it was enough to edit /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf file. In Slackware 13.1 there is no such file. I tried to use blueman but it offers first and foremost a lot of error messages. In despair I even started KDE and tried Bluetooth Manager. It attempts to run for a dozen or so of second and finally fails. I did full installation of Slackware 13.1 and I use generic SMP kernel.
I'm trying to cross compile something and it requires a recent version of Boost. I'm using squeeze and gnome and my updates are all up to date. I could not get through the 'configure' stage with Boost dev packages from the debian repository, so I went to the Boost web site. I thought the package requires boost 1.44 or later, so I downloaded 1.45.0 from the site and proceeded to build and install it. I think I installed it right, using /usr/local/ as the prefix. Back at my main project, I try to configure my build and I get some of the following text and then the configure stops.
Code:
checking for Boost's header version... 1_45 checking for the toolset name used by Boost for arm-none-linux-gnueabi-g++... configure: WARNING: could not figure out which toolset name to use for arm-none-linux-gnueabi-g++ checking boost/date_time/posix_time/posix_time.hpp usability... yes
[code]....
I cannot get past the 'date_time' thing. Does anyone know what is meant by 'flags to link with Boost date_time' ?
I recently installed a software package that needs a command called 'daemon' to be able to start up. Slackware doesn't seem to have this command and I'm unable to find it. Where can I get it and what exactly is it that it does?
I did a upgrade from 13.1 to 13.37 both 64 bit. Then I had the urge to checkout KDE 4.6.2 Now there the wheels came off :I get this message trying to start system settings.System Settings was unable to find any views, and hence has nothing to display.Anyway its my fault had a wrong version in the directory I installed from.
I have an install of slack64 13.37. I am unable to find grub in the repo via slackpkg search grub. It doesn't seem to be in the release package list either. Ditto the extra and testing repo. Has it been removed?
I'm trying to get M-Dist v0.1 to work but I'm having problems booting up the iso. This version is based on Slackware 9.1.From what I can see before the error is this output:
RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0 Freeing initrd memory: 3107k freed EXT2-fs warning: checktime reached, running e2fsck is recommended
Downloaded and installed Alien Bob's Audacity package for Slackware64 13.1, butit wouldn't run and came back with error that it can't find libSoundTouch.so.1.So, I downloaded, built, and installed the SlackBuild for SoundTouch.Audacity still says it can't find libSoundTouch.so.1.
This header file no longer appears when it is set as the "stylesheet/imags/heading banner"
Ubuntu 11.04 GnuCASH v.2.4.2 (from the ubuntu 11.04 repos)
This worked in GnuCASH Ubuntu 10.04 (gnucash 2.2.9-5) but no longer works after doing a clean install followed by copying ~/.gnucash and ~/.aqbanking back into place. The rest of the attributes of both my custom Invoice & Report stylesheet still work (ie colours, etc.) but even when creating a brand new custom stylesheet I cannot get these images to appear after adding them to a stylesheet and saving the settings. This worked fine in the previous version of the application. I have tried deleting the old stylesheet(s) and recreating from scratch and the only thing that does not work is placing the banner or logo images where they are supposed to be. I've done an strace to verify that the image is being found: it's just not appearing.

I have asked around on IRC (irc.gnome.org #gnucash) and it was suggested that it might be a webkit issue, libwebkitgtk is verified as installed.
I am tired, and I simply can't find an easy answer. So, today I need the scanner in slackware64 13.1, only to find that it does not work as user. I have an HP Deskjet F2180 and using CUPS it is identified as hp:/usb/Deskjet_F2100_series?serial=CN81H4S2SP04TK.In the past the simple solution was to add oneself to the right groups, but it does not work this time.As user I get:
I think there is something wrong with my CRL file, such as the file format. Is there any requirement to the CRL file? What can I do to enable this CRL file checking?
I'm trying install TACACS+ server version 4.0.4.19 from sources. (OS OpenSUSE 11.2) On the ./configure stage i've got the following error message configure: error: Could not find libwrap. You must first install tcp_wrappers. But libwrap library has installed already. I see this by the output of ls command within /lib directory
# ls /lib | grep wrap libwrap.so.0 libwrap.so.0.7.6
So i suggested option --with-libwrap=/lib could solve the problem. But it is not. Also i was tried make #export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib with no result. The problem is still there.
I can not for the work get Virtual Box's Additions to install in my FC12 guest. The error log (/var/log/vboxadd-install.log) shows: Makefile:23: *** Error: unable to find the sources of your current Linux kernel. Specify KERN_DIR=<directory> and run Make again.. Stop.
I have tried: # KERN_DIR=/usr/src/kernels # KERN_DIR=/usr/src/kernels/2.6.31.12-174.2.22.fc12.i686 # KERN_DIR=/usr/src/kernels/2.6.31.12-174.2.22.fc12.i686/kernel
Today i download cheops source code and when i type ./configure returns me this error :
Quote: checking for gnome-config... no checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnome-libs install Is there any way to install cheops in KDE ? Do you know any solution for this problem ?
