View 1 Repliesi'm not able to play music at all. videos videos seem to crash my browser and using either rhythmbox or banshee they crash too.i ran rhythmbox by typing sudo rhythmbox and tried to play a file and it displayed a pop-up window saying that my autioaudiosink element is missing and the terminal displayed this:

I've tried untinstalling and reinstalling the package for ampache.
I still cannot get localhost/ampache to display in my browser. I can't even get localhost to display in my browser. I've tried checking around in config files to see if i have ports open for listening. (i'm a noob at all of this)
My router has the port open that i specified. on code - service apache2 start i get:

no listening sockets available, shutting down
I can't find any other config files. I don't know what else to do with the amapche installation. (which included an install of mysql-server package, even tho i NEVER got a prompt to enter in root passwd for the mysql db.)

I have installed squid proxy server on cent os 5.5 the problem i am facing is with some websitesthis issue arose suddenly the issue is when i access certain sites then i get page cannot be displayed but when i refresh it it displays the page. again when i close the browser and start again same issue. View 11 Replies View RelatedI installed ubu server 9.10 on my desktop, then I tried to install webmin and I was able to do that too. When I try to connect to webmin I get "page cannot be displayed" so I thought let's change the port...I changed to port 443 as recommended on the website.
Here is the miniserv.conf:

I have duel boot (XP & Jaunty). I have installed Jaunty in one of my parition through wubi installer. Problem is, though my network connection shows active, I am unable to connect internet via firefox browser or any other browser.
1. I have plugged in ethernet wired connection.
2. I have single network connection (wired connection1)
I used to have a program that displayed system information (cpu/ram usage, stuff like that) but the name escapes me at the moment. The key feature of this program is that it was intergrated into the desktop.

Or maybe I am not looking in the right place? Take a look at the attached. This is what I see, but there should be something on the left pane that says "Network" so that you can access your workgroup shares.
I also attached a screenshot from my "files & folders" menu which clearly shows such a "network" option in the file tree. How come it's in one place and not the other?
i have this hp proliant server and this morning everything was OK until the server restarted.then the server fail to boot because logical drives disabled so i change to second controller and it works but when i try to type df -h the drive is being displayed as /dev/ccsls/c0 and i unable to access to /dev/ccsls/c0 and i got folder not found error. I'm not speaking of settings in vimrc but of storing those settings with in the file to be edited. That way the tabstop has always the right width even if I transfer this file to another computer. However, I can't remember what the magic word is so that vim picks up those settings when loading the file.

I like the server login information that gets displayed when you login to a 10.04 server. It lists disk usage, CPU usage, Temperature etc...
Unfortunately I had problems installing 10.04 from a USB. At the end of the process the master boot record was stored on the USB and not the hard disk.
But now when I login to my server I don't get the server information.
Having problems compiling a program on a new server. It compiles just fine on Ubuntu 8.0.4 server but a new install of the latest Ubuntu Server edition it throws out a bunch of warnings on configure. I am assuming I am missing some lib's or something of the sort.

I used wget -r to get all the web pages that were linked from index.html. The pages listed in index.html are all chapters. After using wget -r, all the chapters are now in the same folder on my local hard drive. Is there a way to build the chapters in their proper order into a "long"/"full" web page, rather than simply having each chapter as a link/next link on a previous page?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working with a dual-boot laptop running Ubuntu 10.0/Windows 7 and a Debian 5 VPS while the OS's shouldn't have much impact on my question.
What I would like to do is create a html page that I can upload to my VPS which lists all of the files/folders on my local 2TB hard drive (Specifically media such as Movies, Music, TV Shows...). The media obviously will not reside on the server, but I would like to at least have a list which will allow me to select, for instance, a bands artist so that it redirects me to the albums in the directory below.
Ultimately, I'm looking for Open Directory Browsing without actually having the media on my server. I have been attempting to create something to this effect using lynx, however, I'm not sure if it can be done with this command or if it's even possible for that matter.
This may not be a big deal at all, but I notice that when I enter TOP into my terminal I can see that I have "2 users". How can I fix it to show 1 user? I did a search before posting and I did not find anything around the forum.
