Feb 2, 2010I have Postfix and Spamassassin setup on Ubuntu Server 9.10. The mail is working perfectly. Spamassassin is correctly marking messages as spam. My problem is with the milter and procmail. On past servers I was able to reject spam based on score via the spamass-milter. For whatever reason I can not get it to work. I have also tried with procmail, again, it does not work. Nov 7, 2010What is the fastest setup to do this? All I want is an internally authenticated webmail server that other servers can send mail to for collection of test emails. Don't need LDAP or anything fancy, just a internal LAN only webmail server. I've got Squirrelmail setup on Ubuntu Server and can't get authentication setup with Squirrelmail and every tutorial I read is way over complicated or has nothing on how to authenticate Squirrelmail with internal, system users.

Server to server SMTP relays are to use port 25. When I am not on site, I can't email via my work account via my iPhone or my residential internet because my ISP(s) filter port 25 to only allow traffic to and from their mail servers. They do however allow 587 anywhere per RFC 4409. Just to send this email I am having to relay off my own server in California. get the proper ports opened on the mail server? I can't access webmail and POP3 from internet. Seems because connection from internet can't directly to Domino through Firewall. If using apache seems no problem with the webmail, but POP3 still can't access.

-Squirrelmail-1.4.2.tar.gz and unzipped under the folder /var/www/html
-cd squirrelmail-1.4.2
-cd config
-within this directory, ./conf.pl
-From main menu, I did choose 2 for domain (i.e. arafapparels.com). This is my official domain
-Then save and exit
-For IMAP setting, I did choose D
-Selected uw and save, then exit
-Then from command line, I wrote chown �R apache.apache /var/www/html/data (I created folder data in the above path)
-I created a folder named as attach to keep attachment in /var/www/html i.e. /var/www/html/attach
-Then typed grep �R apache /var/www/html/attach
-Then typed chmod 730 /var/www/html/mail/attach (Here squirrelmail-1.4.2 directory has been moved to mail directory)
-Then from web browser/Internet explorer, I typed http://localhost/mail/
-Here Username & Password appears. Previously I have created username.
-But when put Username & Password, below error message displays
Error connecting to IMAP server: localhost
13: Permission denied
But I gave permission by chmod 777 /var/www/html/mail and by using 555 but no result.

Mar 13, 2011I for some reason can't get Cyrus-sasl to work completely. I have to manually start it via saslauthd -a show if I let it start up itself or do a service saslauthd start or restart testsaslauthd will fail. I need help getting this fixed. I tried setting /etc/sysconfig/saslauthd to shadow instead of Pam but still no luck. Also when I try to login my postfix server I get an error stating that my username or password is incorrect even though it is right and I can receive mail from dovecot.

Jun 23, 2010i compiled and install postfix, and i using relayhost that point to my ISP. but my "DNS server" is on the same server where is installed postfix. and there is running apache with vhosts so i have domain that hosted on same server and in zonefiles of my domain my MX records points to Google Apps, to google's MX servers. But when i try send E-mail via sendmail to mail@mydomainonsameserver.com it not deliver mail to Google Apps totally, if i try to send to another E-mail everything fine it deliver it. so finally i done research this problem in Internet. And find that need to disable deliver mail to localhost(localdelivery)as i think postfix understand that the domain point to the same server where postfix have itself. and try to deliver mail local. but zonefile MX record even the domain on same server can point to another server outside. So i disabled localdelivery in postfix. and problem not fixed
