I have a server on CentOS 5.And I would like to set up an automatic forward so that every incoming message of a specified user gets forwarded to a specified email (my gmail account).In your opinion, what is the simplest solution ?

I use php to send newsletter via sendmail.outgoing emails work as needed.I defined a .forward file to get responses in my regular email account.If I use mailx to send emails from root account to my own account, it gets forwarded as needed.If I try to send from outside the box to news@domain.com the email is not received in the box and the sender does not receive an error message.
I am sure I missed something.How do I enable incoming emails?
Well I want my sendmail to pipe all users' incoming emails to /dev/null ... I just don't want to accept emails. Every user that exist on the system currently or will be made in future, I want their incoming emails to them to be piped to /dev/null .... I just want those users to be able to send emails.

Basically, for starting, i want postfix to send incoming emails to a php script or perl. for outgoing emails i guess that i could use php mail function and i will see what else to have. I configured the dns. I do a dig.mydomain.tld MX and i get the following:
mydomain.tld3600INMX0 mail.mydomain.tld
mail.mydomain.tld 3600INAmyNumericalIp
So now my system is receiving MX content but i dont know what to do.

I make a file named .fetchmailrc in my home directory and set its permissions to 755and the content of this file is:

I think something is not completed, I need to make that fetch to a specific user only, not all users.
Could it be the IMAP file is corrupt?I have set up mail server on Centos to receive via dovecot.One of my user accounts (A single account out of a hundred)cannot receive their mails.

When login in my gmail account i can't see nothing under the sent / inbox / spam folder.

I'm trying to set up my postfix server to relay mail (via a php cms) using Gmail's smtp on my account, but for some reason, Gmail returns an error code that StartTLS must be sent first, my postfix main.cnf file can be found at pastebin, because of this forum's text length I cannot paste my postfix main.cnf file as can be seen I have everything set and configured for Gmail, but postfix (for some unseen reason) can not send StartTLS. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have one Centos Server and I want to forward root mail to 1 external account: [URL] I installed sendmail and created /root/.forward with this content: [URL] and I sent a test mail with this command: /usr/sbin/sendmail root <prueba.txt But nothing was forwarded.
After that I ran the same command with the verbose option:
/usr/sbin/sendmail -v root <prueba.txt

For some reason sendmail tried to connect to example.com smtp server and couldn't reach it. I am sure this is because the smtp server for example.com domain is not example.com is mail.example.com. Besides mail.example.com requires authentication, username , password and the smtp port is not the default 25 is 9999. configure sendmail to forward root mail to a smtp server that requires authentication, username, password with a not the default 25 port?

I have bought a new domain and would want incoming emails sent to this domain ids to be scanned by a virus scanner & spam filter.I have read that MailScanner + SpamAssasin is a good combination/option. On mail server 1 I have test@example.com
Om mail server 2 (different location than mail server 1) I also have test@example.com
MX-record for example.com should point to mail server 3. Of course there will be a mail server 4 that will do the same as mail server 3. Mail server 3 will receive all incoming mails and forward them to both mail server 1 and 2. This will be a simple and cheap but bullet proof redundancy solution. I'm interested in this solution, have already looked into clusters, backup mx, imap-sync and a ton more of solutions but this is the solution we want. ny one who can point me in the right direction? I've been searching for weeks, the solution exist but I can't find out how to set it up. Not all mail should be forwarded this way, only one example.com, not example2.com or example3.com.

I have evolution set up to send emails using gmail's smtp server. I've always been able to do it with no problems, but a couple of days ago I stopped being able to send emails to gmail accounts. I can send emails to other addresses but not gmail. The same happens with my wife's laptop with ubuntu. The only thing I can think of is that we recently moved and thus changed ISP, but I don't see how that's preventing us to send mails specifically to gmail accounts...
View 3 Replies View RelatedRunning exim4 on debian and trying to forward all emails destined for root@mydomain.com to me@mydomain.com, I did setup the entry in the /etc/alias file in the following way:
root: me@mydomain.com
run newaliases restart exim "although not needed if I am not mistaken"
then on command line mail root@mydomain.com and the email still goes out for root@Mydomain.com and not me@mydomain.com I am using a smarthost, and that smarthost refuses to serve emails going for root@. I am OK with that as I should be able to easily rewrite those message to go to me@mydomain.com
But it is simply not working, anything I might have missed here ?

Evolution works fine for receiving mail, but I cant send anything.When i hit "send/receive" itll receive but ask for smtp password every single time. My understanding is that the password is your email password, but it wont accept it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running 11.04 desktop 64 bit and have smartmontools and mdadm set to send automated test emails at bootup (I have a RAID5 setup).I'm using msmtp with a gmail account. When I'm logged in, I can manually send test emails with both smartmontools and mdadm; neither will send me an email at bootup even though they are set to do so. The msmtp log at bootup has a smtp.gmail.com exitcode=EX_NOHOST.why it can't find the smtp server at bootup but has no problem once I'm logged in and test it manually? Is there some dependency that isn't loading in time at bootup???

I wrote the following commands:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use evolution 2.26.1 on my jaunty machine. I have a couple of gmail accounts, and use pop3 to have that mail sent to evolution on my computer. All was fine until a few days ago. Then I noticed that I was no longer getting mail from my freecycle account sent to my machine. I went to the gmail web interface and saw that freecycle mail is still being sent to me. But gmail isn't passing it along to my evolution. The odd thing is, other mail from that gmail account *is* reaching evolution okay.
