View 15 RepliesI was trying to setup SSL Client authentication on only one virtual host. Here is a brief excerpt sample of my conf file for the virtual host:
<VirtualHost xx.xx.xx.xx:443>
SSLRequire %{SSL_CLIENT_S_DN_O} eq "something"
SSLVerifyClient require
SSLVerifyDepth 2
</VirtualHost>
But when I try to check for syntax errors tells me SSLRequire not allowed here I do not want to add SSLRequire on the main httpd.conf because I only want it for one virtual host. The rest of the virtual hosts do not need it.
I am trying to set up Apache and Webmin so that I can access Webmin by going to [URL]. I am using the direction at [URL] under the "Webmin In A Sub-Directory Via A Proxy" section. I had this setup working before, but I think an update of either Webmin or Apache broke it. Now, I can go the the webpage and I see the login screen. However, when I try to log in, I get an error.

I started a new job and they use LDAP here. I built a new RHEL 5.5 server and configured LDAP. Usernames are recognized but the password is not. I can chown a file to a user name but when I try to login as the user it won't accept the password.I know the password is correct because I can login to any of the old boxes and it accepts the password. I ran authconfig-tui to tell my RHEL box to authenticate to ldap.

I have users that need to access our HTTP intranet from outside locations. Those locations will have dynamic IP addresses most of the time, so I can't just "allow from [ip]" in my Apache proxy configuration. Originally we considered a VPN, but determined that a VPN will be overkill to access just an internal website, since we do not want external users to have permission to the rest of the network, only the website.I currently have it working over HTTPS with basic authentication against an internal LDAP server, but I want a little more security for such an important website.

I am using RackMonkey to map out my lab. Unfortunately, due to RM limitations, every user who accesses the site has write access UNLESS they are logged in as a user named "guest". I currently have Apache allowing only the users (sysadmins) in an LDAP group access to RM, but I would like to allow read-only access for other users as well.I found mod_authn_anon, but I am having trouble combining the two authentication methods. But if I have both of the previous blocks enabled at once, then guest access does not work. If I throw in a "Satisfy any", then I am not prompted for a username at all. How can I allow access to this LDAP group and to a user named "guest", but not allow all valid LDAP users to log in?

The site loads slow and clicking a link almost freezes the page for a second. Also, the page loads could be much faster. We've been running mysqltuner and have pretty much optimized all slow queries. Is there anything we can do to fine tune the server for faster and more responsive?

I have a problem with ldap client authentication in ubuntu. I am using rhel5 as openldap server and I configured ubuntu as client, when I am trying to login the following message is coming."su: Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info. Sorry"

Don't need LDAP or anything fancy, just a internal LAN only webmail server. My question has to do with ssh/scp exchange of key exchange between a windows cygwin server and a linux server.There seems to be no /home/root/.. to hold the key exchange files. I've tried this between a cygwin server with a /home/administrator/..subdirectory and the /root subdirectory on the linux server. Is this how I should do this?Someone else set this up between these two servers earlier but forgot to document how it was done in his notes.I don't want to break the existing systems by setting up the key generation incorrectly on the functioning pair's of servers.
