Unfortunately, as everyone may have noticed, english is not my native tongue so I am having trouble understanding the part "Make sure you bumped the cluster config version number". Can anyone enlightened me on what should I be doing so that I could "bump" the cluster config version?

Fedora Hardware :: Trackpad - Can't Find Xorg.conf

Feb 28, 2010

I just installed Fedora 12 on a RM (research machines) nBook 4000.

Whilst the trackpad allows me to move the mouse pointer about, it doesn't respond to tapping. Is there anything I can do to get it working properly?

Also, the laptop has an integrated Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics card. How can I tell if it is being detected and working properly? I don't seem to have an xorg.conf file.

CentOS 5 Server :: Loading Multiple Virtual Host Conf Files From Httpd.conf?

Jun 1, 2009

I've been scanning the apache2 docs for the past few days and have not come up with an answer my following issue:

In my httpd.conf file, at the very end, I have the line

Include conf/vhosts/vhost_*.conf

However, when I run apache checkconfig or try to start apache, it gives me the error:

httpd: Syntax error on line 993 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Could not open configuration file /etc/httpd/conf/vhosts/vhost_1.conf: Permission denied

It appears as if the Include line is correct - in terms of it grabbing the first virtual host conf file. However, I'm confused on the permissions. the /etc/httpd folder is owned by root:root, as are the subfolders. As a test, I chown'd the conf/vhost folder combination and all the vhost files to apache:apache to see if that made a difference, and it appeared to make no difference at all. The log files don't contain anything (assumed because apache isn't starting). If I place the contents of the vhosts in a singular vhosts.conf it works - with the permissions set to root:root. I'd like to avoid having to use one vhosts conf for the configuration I'm trying to achieve - as it would make my life a lot easier.

Fedora Installation :: F12 Kernel Seems Unable To Use Installed Hd / Resolve It?

Jan 21, 2010

I am trying to install Fedora12 on a usb hard-drive, the first problem I encountered was that the hard-drive would not boot stating "kernel panic: unable to create root device", this is just using the standard fedora 12 install and mostly clicking next (although I add my vista to the grub and tell grub to install to /dev/sdc which is the location of my usb hdd).

I have also tried livecdtousb (wont boot in stick and wont recognize removable hd as removable)

I have tried setting up disc encryption and installing with no LVM.

The drive has this same problem with ubuntu 9.10 however ubuntu 8.10 installs perfectly and I am guessing earlier versions of fedora will too. The problem is that I would like the kernel features of Fedora 12 (mainly modesetting) without this issue.

I have played about with grub and quite like disabling LVM and using the uuid of the drive to select the root partition, my boot partition has 500mb, I have a 2gb swap space 50gb ext4 root partition & 27gb fat32 partition code...

Slackware :: Script Which Reinstates Original Content Of /etc/resolve.conf After Using Wicd

Dec 16, 2010

I have discovered that after employing the Wicd Network Manager I can no longer connect via ppp. The reason, it seems, is that each instance of Wicd changes the content of my /etc/resolv.conf file from:

Code:
search SPRINT
nameserver 195.128.182.5
to:

Code:
Generated by dhcpcd
# /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
# /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line

It has been suggested that I write a script that does this.
