What I really want to do is compile an apache version that uses the same layout as the version included with CentOS. I can not however find the correct layout.conf file. The one from the Apache Source doesn't have a REHL or CentOS option.

I've just installed FC15 and starting to like Gnome 3. There's something wrong with the keyboard layout:
at, number, tilde and anything with [AltGr] does not work (square, cubic, Euro sign, micro sign,...).
Language is german but keyboard is british. Where/how can I correct this ?

I have a domain, dns hosted, and apache serving up pages. this all works fine, so far. i even have a cms running. my confusion starts when i try to host a different site under a subdomain, ie. sub.mydomain.com.i have two vhosts in apache. one is mydomain.com and the directory is /var/www/mydomain.but, when i try to add another vhost like webmail.mydomain.com, and i try to put the root directory in /var/www/webmail, it doesn't work. when i try to access webmail.mydomain.com, i just get the site on mydomain.com.I feel like i am just missing something really simple here, but i have tried searching around for solutions to no avail.

1. I create my own LiveCD image.
# LANG=C livecd-creator --config=centos-livecd-desktop.ks --fslabel=CentOS-5.4-<arch>-LiveCD
2. Insert and format the USB (I'd tested FAT and EXT).
3. Create the filesystem on the USB.
# livecd-iso-to-disk --overlay-size-mb 2500 CentOS-5.4-i686-LiveCD.iso /dev/sda1
4. Test it.
# umount /dev/sda1
# sudo kvm -hda /dev/sda1 -m 256 -vga std
The process seems to be fine but when I boot I receive the message: "Unable to find persistent overlay using temporary" complaining about failing mount /overlay.
If I watch inside LiveOS/ I can find the overlay file: overlay-jimezam_lab-d9d04988-3b00-4a2d-8207-43007ac71ef1.
According to this article, one could create a custom keyboard layout.
While i look in the /ect/x11/xkb/ repertory i find a base.xml file only, no keyboard layouts as the article suggests.
Where can i find my keyboard layouts so i can edit them?
i use virtual hosts to develop several web applications. These are located in my home folder under /home/user/projects/project After a fresh installation, i always get a 403 forbidden error. After googling and reading on this forum, several solutions are mentioned for this problem. But i can hardly believe putting using a chmod 755 on my home folder is a correct solution. What is the correct way of doing things in this situation?

I used "The Perfect Server" server document from Howtoforge and went through those steps and then added Webmin administration console. I then tried to install VMware Workstation 6.5 onto the system. doing kernel update (to 2.6.18-164.el5xen) i got the following error:

I contacted DELL to provide me the driver and they said that they do not support Linux on netbook and I have to arrange it myself.
I told them that I don't need help in installing I just need the driver file to which they said that they don't have driver for Linux.
NIC is getting detected and works fine on the same netbook (Am dual booting Windows7/CentOS) with Windows7
When I type: ls -l /dev/ it does not show up eth0. Same result with ifconfig. When I type lspci | grep net it does show up something like Atheros Communications AR8132 L1 PCI Gigabit .
I'm using two screens where one Is cheep Denver TV screen with DVD player. I have just install Jessie on my PC. Before i had Windows and there was no problems finding correct resolution for this screen. Now Jessie recognize it as Unknown and the maximum resolution I can set is 1024x768 what is way to small even for this screen. At Windows resolution was something over 1200px wide. The worst thing about it is that this resolution stretches the display really ugly. You may think I'm making big deal of nothing but for me it is actually a deal. I'm graphical designer and I need to see display as it is.

It is correctly recogniced as german keyboard by ev-dev, i guess. (ev-dev managed). But i need to write some spanisch symbols too, like accents (á © í ³ ? ñ¬ ·hich in a normal linux, they do work. For some reason, after rebooting, or after some time of having it running, the keyboard layout resets to an invalid setup, here accents get not over the letter (?a ?e ?i ?o ?u), so i have to select my layout again in the gnome control center.
With my other computermore or less the same.Its a desktop PC with an spanisch keyboard. But i thinck i picked German keyboard during installation and now it starts always with german with some sort of 5 secs delay when setting it. I have to pick spanisch and i always delete the german layout, but after some time having it running, it resets to the previusly deleted german layout.

Most of them are fine, but one of them has the incorrect time and no matter what I try I can't get it to display properly. The time seems to be 15 hours behind and I think that might be because the original source virtual machine was an appliance built in Canada and my timezone is Australia/Sydney.

I have downloaded both versions of Fedora 11 (Gnome and KDE) to iso files on my hard disk - in Windows XP. I then tried the verification procedure advised in [URL]... section 3.1. I have successfully installed and run hashcalc, with the SHA1 option, and got the following results:
- for the Gnome version : 795b52b3c7b16eba6f2cae055ec894d8648d8095
- for the KDE version : 38ef6c97e29803add28d40add05aa025b6f4c92b.
But I can't find any SHA1SUM files to give me the correct character sequences against which to compare the said results.
