OpenSUSE :: Kmail Does Not Display Local Folder Content After Akonadi Migration
Feb 17, 2011
I run opensuse 11.3/KDE:Factory. Recently, kmail updated to using akonadi. The following problem came up. My local emails are now managed by a "local folders" component of akonadi. The folder structure is displayed correctly in Kmail. However, no emails are shown for some folders. Emails still live in the .kde4/share/app/kmail directory hierarchy and can be imported into a new folder after moving them somewhere else. However, even after a fresh import sometimes emails are no longer recognized.
Kmail 1.13.2 Problem on startup, error is from nepomuk, data storage. "cannot find Redland backend, nepomuk is disabled until fixed. Also see the following error from the akonadi console:
100503 10:00:15 [Note] Plugin 'ndbcluster' is disabled. 100503 10:00:15 InnoDB: Started; log sequence number 0 31413862 100503 10:00:15 [Warning] Can't open and lock time zone table: Table 'mysql.time_zone_leap_second' doesn't exist trying to live without
I just upgraded to 10.04LTS and so far, so good! Every thing is running smoothly, except my email clients. Neither Kontact or Kmail will start up. This Akonadi Server thing keeps giving me an error. this is the report that I get when it fails to run:
Code: Akonadi Server Self-Test Report =============================== Test 1: SUCCESS --------
I am looking for a way to set a default for new users for the akonadi mysql.conf file that is created for each user for the akonadi database. Usually this file contains a inno_db_log_file_size of 64MB. Because of this the database eats up 64MB storage even if its still empty. I would like to decrease this size globally for each "new" user since we have very tight storage restrictions on our NFS home directories now. And 64MB make up already have the quota each user has. So this is to much. where is this default mysql.conf file taken from?
I found hints that there used to be a /usr/share/config/akonadi/mysql-global.conf file that was simply copied but I cannot find such a file on my 11.4 system. It seems things have changed. how akonadis user specific mysql.conf file in ~/.local/share/akonadi/ is generated for a new user? How can I use my own template file here?
I know that you can select from a list, groups from plasma "search & launch" - but is it possible to create and add other groups. Also is it possible to change the kmail at the top of the display to thunderbird, which I use.
I have a fresh install OpenSuSE 11.4 installation. I have install Apache 2 ,I have change the content on the owner and group to chown wwwrun.nobody Directory /srv/www/htdocs. Now apache cannot display the content anymore there is no error in the error_log. If I change the content to my user the content is displayed. Why and how can I fix this the permission are the same as on the previous web server and I'm using index.php as the index page..
Is there a Commend to move the content of a folder -only image files no subfolders- to another destination folder?Actully, I had a look on the following post:Post tilte:Using mv to move the content of one directory into anotherFrom it, I tried that:
Code: # rsync -a SOURCE/ DEST/ But, it copy a folder as all to the distination.
I'm running OpenSuse 11.3 X64. I have installed apache2, PHP5 and MySQL in order to do some web-design offline e.g. they are for internal network use only. There is also phpMyAdmin installed. The default directory for the "server" is /srv/www/htdocs.
To access a specific site in progress I create a subfolder there then just navigate via h**p://10.13.23.201/NAMEOFFOLDER from my internal network. At least that is how it should work but it doesn't. I created a new folder called wlc so it's directory is /srv/www/htdocs/wlc however when I go to the address h**p://10.13.23.201/wlc I get a Remote Server Or File Not Found error from my browser, there is files in there ,index.php, that should load and apache has been set to recognize *.php files.
I know the theory should work as I can access /srv/www/htdocs/phpMyAdmin by going to h**p://10.13.23.201/phpMyAdmin and it loads just fine. Also the error is different if I go to a folder that doesn't exist for example h**p://10.13.23.201/THISFOLERDOESNTEXISIT will return an Object Not Found error.
I have been using kmail on opensuse (11.2) for about 3 months with few issues. I usually launch using alt+F2, type "kma" and it appears top of the list. I have turned on my laptop today and kmail has simply disappeared. I have gone through the ghekko and the only mail client listed is thunderbird. It is not in the alt+F2 menu. If I type kmail in konsole I get the "if kmail is not a typo" speech. I've also tried using kontact (for the first time) to see if my mail appears there
what is the difference in content between the directories
/usr/bin /usr/local/bin
my understanding is that "/usr/bin" stores the applications for the system's users. whereas when you compile a program in source code format using the make utility the binaray executable is stored in "/usr/local/bin". Why is this and is my understanding correct?
I like Chrome and Chromium seems really nice on ubuntu. In Preferences -> Under the Hood -> Content Settings -> Javascript, I have selected no javascript. I then go to Exceptions to enter file:///* or similar but the input control doesn't accept this. It seems to want to a domain name and doesn't like forward slashes.
I've looked in the Preferences file but after adding a dummy exception I see no details of that exception. Anyone know where these exceptions are so I can try to manually edit?
I am currently using and working on Fedora 10 and have couple of monitors set up to itNow, I want to display different content on different monitors (not the same content on all monitors). It should keep displaying Pictures and/or videos with a certain intervals of time as soon as the fedora loads. How should make this happen.
Every time I try to empty the waste bin I get dolphin error - 'The file or folder /.local/share/Trash/files/IMGP1676.DNG does not exist'I tried to recreate the file 'IMGP1676.DNG' , deleted it i.e. sent i to the waste bin and then tried the empty waste bin again, although this time it was there and deleted it still reported the same error.du -h .local/share/Trash/files/ 12K .local/share/Trash/files
I recently got the problem that Thunderbird does not displays the messages anymore. The e-mails are downloaded form the server, a new email warning is given, but the e-mail cannot be displayed (in fact it is not loaded in the message window. I could only see the TB start page). I cannot even see the old messages.
However, when use "see message source" I can see the e-mails.
I also noticed this message in the error console:
server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555
I use Fedora 12 + thunderbird 3.0.6-1
On another linux box F9+ThB 2.0.0 I do not have that issue.
Today I upgraded to Fedora 13 + TB 3.1.1. This should be the latest one, but I still cannot see the message.
Also, on F13 I got another issue with Firefox 3.6.7. When I switch between the tabs, the tabs will turn black and will not get back to normal for 10-15 sec. It looks liek a random effect because often only part fo the page turns black. This issue appear in the windows of TB 3.1.1 since updated to F13.
My hardware is a Sony SR49 laptop with ATI mobility Radeon HD3470
Have Google chrome and this black page issue is not present. The same with Evolution mail, but I do not like it.
go about developing this add-on. i am testing this on my xbmc-live set-up; i am fairly affluent in bash/ c but unfortunately i dont have experience with python.i trimmed the data using this bash 1-liner so the output looks like:
This server is for dhcp and sharing purposes.I can actually access one nfs share via other ubuntu and osx clients on the network, then I configured another share with different mount point (different drive, different forlder, different contents). The problem is: when I connect form a client to the new one it displays the same exact content of the first share. It seems that is mounting the same share on a different mount point on the client and exporting the shares via the exportfs -ra command doesn't solve nothing. This is my fstab file
Code: proc /proc proc nodev,noexec,nosuid 0 0 # / was on /dev/sda1 during installation
I was dragging and dropping content from a folder onto the user desktop folder when suddenly instead of the packed Desktop Folder I got the Home folder with the few normal files that were in it AND one file called Desktop.
(actually, the file name was "Escritorio" and it was a PDF file, and in $HOME/.config/ the file user-dirs.dirs was changed to say XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/" instead of XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Escritorio")
I've searched around but only found how to recreate a folder calles "Desktop" (or "Escritorio") and have it act like such, but not how to eventually recover the original "Desktop" folder AND ALL ITS CONTENTS (quite a lot!)
Is there any way to get the content back?
Fedora is 64bit Fedora 14 Gnome is 2.32 Nautilus is 2.32.2.1
When I start up my computer I always get the Akonadi message window with some errors. If I just close it, launch "akonadi configuration" and ask for a test, some of the errors have already disappeared. It looks like the first test is made too soon, before everything is running. It's not a big issue but I would like to get rid of the akonadi warnings window. Does anybody know how?
Akonadi can't run when log as user root due to mysql protection :
Code: [akonadiserver] Found mysql_install_db: "/usr/bin/mysql_install_db" [akonadiserver] Found mysqlcheck: "/usr/bin/mysqlcheck" [akonadiserver] Database process exited unexpectedly during initial connection! [akonadiserver] executable: "/usr/sbin/mysqld"
[Code].....
So how to configure Kmail to read and delete local mail sent by other users or by system or apps ?
I have two folders such as nonserved/ folder1/ folder2/
And a served folder via Apache media/ js/ css/ img/
In the end, I want to include/append contents of /nonserved to /media so that [URL] will be as such: /media /js /css /img /folder1 /folder2
I am running Ubuntu Server, I am up for either apache config or symbolic link based answer :) Plus nonserved folder is rather dynamic thus manual symbolic linking to each folder is impossible.
Recently I've tried installing Calibre from the Software Centre, but it seemed to be glitching as when I press Update Source, the 'In Progress' icon shows up, but when it finishes nothing changes - the Update Source button is still Should I report this?Anyways, I've installed Calibre from their website to .calibre in Home Folder. However, the folder is 'locked' as it requires root priveleges and I can't drop files there without being the admin. I'd like to reduce 'open as root' files to minimum, so I was wondering if there is a way to change the permissions of all the content in one operation, preferably using GUI, and not the terminal?
In addition I've noticed that other folders in my Home Folder like Pictures/Wallpapers require root privileges. This is really annoying as when I 'experiment' with Ubuntu I use Live CD to make sure I don't screw up the main system. When I do I can't open some files from hard disk because of those root inconsistencies
want to sync 2 folders, one on a desktop and the other on my server. My objective is to keep the desktop folder always updated with the content of the server folder. If I get this working, I can do the same with the rest of my desktop and laptop users. When online they can run a script with rsync and update data. Is it possible to get 2 way sync?
i want to move all files inside the folder moving to folder public_html which command i should use? m using centos5 64bit tell me full command which i should writer in ssh client..so my all files will be moved to public_html...from moving folder.
i am trying to declare an environmental variable in the /etc/profile' (as per the tutorial i'm following) but when i declare it and do an echo i get nothing. Here's what i've done so far..nside /etc/profile:
# /etc/profile: system-wide .profile file for the Bourne shell (sh(1)) # and Bourne compatible shells (bash(1), ksh(1), ash(1), ...). if [ -d /etc/profile.d ]; then
After checking my tmp folder I found out some strange hidden and unhidden folders of programs that I have not used or downloaded. After removing each one using sudo rm -rf some folders insist on re-appearing, and after a reboot all folders are back.
Moreover, trying netstat -l, found that many of these files are in listening state.
