I am running in a problem that i have put a postfix regex which needs to discard emails having no subjects, while it works fine for gmail,hotmail and other domains but it does not work for [URL] ultimate reason behind this is because yahoo does not send subject line if subject is not included in email.
View 3 RepliesI have been trying to figure out how to keep my company's email from being treated as junk mail by Hotmail, Yahoo & Gmail for over a year.
When I acquired the company its email was hosted by sina.com as its in China. It was being run under a windows server and had issues sending & receiving.
I moved it to a linux server system in Hong Kong that has a US co-host site in Chicago area thinking its got to better than whats running in China.
We are still having problems sending emails to hotmail, yahoo and gmail.
My entire company is about ready to redmond our company email and use their personal webmail accounts.
I have a server with an sms-terminal attached. There I use "gnokii" to send sms. Now I'm searching for a solution with postfix or something else to receive an email and resend the subject of this email as an sms with gnokii. I have already searched a lot. I found that I have to create a special "sms"-user and a .procmail / .forward-file. But I had no success with this solutions.

Then some of the incoming emails are sent to an MS exchange server (server1.domain.com) using Postfix. What i want to do is to send a copy of all emails to Another server (server2.domain.com) for redundancy.Can postfix be configured to send copies out to both?

1. I received an email (spam) on Yahoo Mail from someone who was not intending to send it. (While it did go to spam folder, I did 'open' the email (since it came from a trusted sender) but it only contained a link (which because of WOT) I assumed was spam.) I did NOT click the link.
2. I then informed him that his email addy was spamming.
3 Shortly thereafter, i noticed in Ubuntu (firefox) whenever I clicked "reply" to email back to someone, there was a quick flash of letters/numbers in the slot where I would normally write. This instantly disappears and goes blank so I can write something, so I just figured it was a bug. This is happening on BOTH windows and Ubuntu.
4 Now MY EMAIL is spamming people the people I write to.
So far: I have 1. Changed my Yahoo password 2. Deleted firefox 3. In windows Ran Spybot/Search-Destory AVG (turns up nothing) What else can I do?

Each time someone with a mail account tries to send something to a Yahoo! address, the email stays stuck in the mail queue and a 'delayed mail (still trying)' message is sent back to the user. I understand that Yahoo! has a tendency to block mail servers on a whim, but what I'd like to know is, how can I prevent Postfix from specifically retrying to send emails to Yahoo! mail servers? I don't want to stop retries to other mail servers.

I then added the following to my main.cf file: smtp_enforce_tls = yes
I now get this when running postqueue -p
(TLS is required, but our TLS engine is unavailable)

I habe installed openSuSE 11.1 in textmode as a mailserver. Postfix running fine. I got policyd 2.x from sourceforge and installed it. Database is running ok web gui is running ok, but I can't start policyd/cluebringer as there are some perl modules needed. I found most of the but i am still missing one: perl(cache::FastMmap). I search any repositories I found, nor could get some source to compile.
Does anyone out there has running openSuSE 11.1 with postfix and cluebringer or can anyone give me some hint where to get that perl module for 11.1 or 11.2, upgrade from 11.1 to 11.2 would be no problem for me.
can't send or recieve E-mail. Running postfix , thunderbird squirrel mail. Thunderbird and squirrelmail connect to server but am unable to send or recieve. recieve connection refuses 111 can't open smtp stream. I seen a post mentioning port 25 : 587 for squirrellmail but I do not have exim.conf to update daemon_smtp_ports= 25 : 587 is this located in another file for suse 11.2?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am brand new to sendmail. I have a web application running on APACHE2. I'm told that it uses a PHP mail function to send emails for notifications. I configured my php.ini to use sendmail by adding the following line:
sendmail_path= /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i (I've tried it without the i as well)
As far as the sendmail configuration is concerned, I used the GUI interface provided in the KDE environment (labeled Mail Transfer Agent). I inputted my outgoing mail server's IP address and login information. I also unchecked TLS since my mail server does not use that.
The problem is that no email ever gets sent. The web application states that the email was successfully sent. But I think its because it hands the email to PHP (leaving the responsibility to PHP)...then it believes the email is sent. My mail server uses plain text for authentication. Im not doing anything special with it. I told my mail server to accept connections from my linux box. I also checked my mail server's logs and see that no record of any connection from my linux server is logged.
So it seems my linux server isnt even communicating with my mail server. Both boxes are on the same network. My linux box can ping my mail server just fine. Firewall is disabled. How do I correctly configure sendmail to use an outgoing SMTP server to send emails. And how do I verify that setting works without using the web application I installed? (I want to verify whether or not the issue is with sendmail or the web application). Where do I find sendmail's logs so I can check to see why it's not hitting my mail server?

Well, ir jus installed Apache2 and PHP5 on my openSuSE 11.2 server, and I just get blank pages for PHP, but HTML works fine. Ima jus guess this is a common error.
I have setup up an Opensuse as a simple we/application server.It handles requests for various things and will need to send out email on occasion for things like password reset requests, information / warnings etc. etc.This is a standard OPenSuse 11.x install with defaults so it comes with Postfix as the mta.I do not want a mail server I just want to send out via my clients mail server which is hosted exchange rackspace, which simply requires SMTP auth to do so.What would be the proper way to do this so ALL e-mail send from this machine, regardless of account like WWWRun or when logged in and sending from the command line has the same sender all the time.

I assume that when i configured to point it to "Satellite mail system" is the correct one instead of other things like "Internet.." etc. So the configurations is when you have installed the Postfix and there would pop a lot of questions right? Other than that, what have i missed?
Oh ya, i remember something. Hmm. I do not have any so-called real smtp server so would that be alright? I heard that installed and getting the Postfix running would be enough as it serves as a MTA (mail transfer agent). So if i do not have any smtp server, the relay host= ' ' what should i put it as?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup a simple SMTP server to relay scanned documents from a Xerox machine to email addresses. Unfortunately the Xerox machine doesn't support TSL or SSL so sending mail over port 25 on gets blocked. I have setup postfix on a desktop running Fedora 13 and have been able to set it up to forward the mail onto the correct server (gmail for example). My question is, how do I get the server to encrypt the emails (scanned documents) when sending them over the internet?

Login by pop or imap works flawlessly that what i dont get. From what i see it SHOULD be working. It it changes things, im using postfixadmin, postfix, dovecot. passwords and info stored in mysql tables. passwords are md5 encrypted. I thought that may be the issue, but that dosnt make sence.
