OpenSUSE :: MonoDevelop Fails To Package With Error

I am brand new to openSUSE (coming from Fedora then Kubuntu then Linux Mint) and I must say I am very impressed. Unfortunately I am also a C# developer and I need Mono (and more specifically MonoDevelop) to function correctly. I installed MonoDevelop from YaST and started with the simple "Hello World" command line project that is included by default. I then added Tarball packaging to the solution and attempted to build the package. It spit out the following error:
"Package creation failed. Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
I then tried double clicking on the Tarball package in the solution and it gave me an Unhandled Exception error dialog with a stack trace. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? It's as if I am missing a required package or something. I have tried to install automake but that didn't change anything.

I'm installing openSUSE 11.2 on a notebook from DVD + locally mirrored update and kde4 buildservice repositories. This usually worked fine, but this time, the installation always fails at about 89% while installing some package, whose name I can't find out. Its script fails with error 127, the error message blocks access to the log.
Is there a way to continue the installation process afterwards, instead of always trying to reinstall and hoping to find out the name of the failing package?

I'm running 11.2 KDE 4.3.5, recently every time I've tried to use the Updater Applet I get this error after choosing to install an update: PackageKit Error internal-error: Installation aborted by user. Then I run YaST to try to manually install the update and get the following error:
Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: error: package kwin-4.3.5-0.2.1.i586 is not installed. Really unsure how to fix this but it's only blocking updates/patches, I can download new programs fine.

What does this message mean? Can't KDE be updated at all or is it just this swedish dictionary?

This is the error I receive when I try to install a library. I really do not know If I could do something to skip this error message.As you might see below. When we try to login using KDE we get the following error

If we use IceWM GUI login works fine.

OS 11.2. When I try to log in my account I get the message {kstartupconfig4 does not exist or fails. The error code is 1. check}. I can only log in as root. As root, I check the file system and my files are there in /home/Myname. I can run all my programmes. The executable kstartupconfig4 is there.

I'm using OpenSUSE 11.4, trying to install to an iSCSI partition. I'm using gPXE to boot to my iSCSI volume. This works fine, and pulls up grub with my boot options. I think boot the openSUSE 11.4 entry, which kicks off the boot process. I see the steps for running DHCP on the interface, but when it gets to iscsiadm, there's an error logging in to the iSCSI target portal along the lines of "15 - already exists. After that things start to fall apart - I/O errors, mainly, and the system completely fails to boot. What's going on and what this already exists message means?

I made a little applicaton in MonoDevelopit works fine and does what it's supposed to when I run it inside of MonoDevelop itself.butwhen I try running the output exe file from either the debug or release folders it just won't do anything...s is because my system assorts exe's with wine or is it something else?I can't really figure it out...and now we're at it is there a way for me to change the output format in MonoDevelop??? I pretty much just got it

I have tried a few times now with sbopkg but I cannot get monodevelop installed.
All the dependencies install and compile correctly but during the compile of monodevelop it keeps bombing out.

I have been having a recurring issue for a number of weeks now. Everytime Software Update appears it says there are updates so I click update, enter my root password and then I get this error message:
Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: error: package postfix-2.6.1-2.1.i586 is not installed Now that package is not mentioned on the list for me to untick so I have no idea where it's coming from. It happens each time and everytime the updates don't get done. They just stay on the list and new ones keep getting added. The list is getting pritty big now

I want to stop using Windows because it sucks so i have downloaded all kind of distibutions from Linux. They give all the same error because it seems Linux has problems with Fakeraid. Now i have running OpenSuse in VmWare 7.0.1 but i want it as the only OS.
The installation goes fine but in the end it gives a Grub error because it cannot create the bootloader. It seems to be a common problem and i have done all the steps that i could find on Google.
I have two raid controllers. One is integrated in the mainboard from Asrock ALiveNF7G-HD720p R5.0 and OpenSuse sees it as a Jmicron controller.I have bought also a EM2001 2 Poorts PCI Controller SATA card with two harddisks in Raid 0 because Linux failed to install on the JMicron. On the EM2001 2 Poorts PCI Controller SATA it also fails with the same error.
I want OpenSuse 11.2 working on Raid 0. I know it must be some simple commands in the terminal through a live cd to correct the bootloader and do it manualy by Linux users but i'm a Windows user.
Can somewhone please tell me the exact steps and commands to install Linux on Raid 0 Fakeraid?

I have just installed the package monodevelop on Ubuntu 10.4 and wanted to try it out.I'm a long-time .NET developer using Visual Studio 2005/2008 on Windows so I'm familiar with the concepts.I created a new Gtk# project in MonoDevelop, but the empty project already won't compile because almost all referenced assemblies are missing. i'm trying to run some code i had written a couple of weeks ago in windows :$, the program has to create and copy some files and when i try to run this code in monodevelop this error:Unhandled Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException:Access to the path '/tmp' is denied.i've tried to change the path where i know i have read/write permissions but it doesn't seem to work, the code was originally written to create a file in the Temp folder in windows.

I have been having trouble with installing ATI drivers on my box. I have tried the repository way and that fails due to checksum differences. I want to try the command line way but. every time I run the installer it acts like it worked, then when I close it by clicking Okay I get a message that says the compile has failed.
I am wondering if there is a kernel setting that needs to be changed? The output error log has the following output:

After Updating to version 8.0 today...
Package Updater GUI is Failing with the message:
No updates are available
No network connection was detected.

I did updates almost daily on wheezy
Todays updates [via the Pkg Updater GUI] were over 300 meg.
After the updates and reboot
System was showing version 8.0 in the GUI desktop and using 'cat /etc/debian_version'
Then...
From terminal I did ...
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
The dist-upgrade was over 40 minute and ~ 500meg
Things seemed to go well.
I updated sources.list with apt-spy.
[In order to trouble-shoot: I subsequently commented-out the apt-spy sources and found some generic sources on internet]

I have a desktop running on Fedora 14. I installed LAMP by using scripts for package installation. That works fine. Also, I have a virtual environment (Virtual Machine Manager), in which I installed Fedora 14 as well. I tried to install LAMP by the same scripts and the same packages as on my desktop, but strangely - it does not work.
I figured out that in both cases two instances of httpd.conf are installed, one residing in /etc/httpd/conf/, the other one in /usr/local/apache2/conf. The first one seems to belong to the server that is by default installed together with Fedora 14. The second one is the result from the package installation.
For a reason unknown to me, the second one (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf) is always activated on my desktop, while the first one (/usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf) is activated by default in my virtual computer. I have been able to change the DocumentRoot with succes.
I know how to install LAMP with yum, I have a second virtual computer with LAMP installed by yum, and the whole question is not an urgent one, but... I am just curious... what could have caused the difference? And what would I have to do whenever I would like to use the package installation or vice versa?
