This is a new clean install and I must have done something wrong here. Sorry for the huge image I know I shold be able to see the clock in the taskbar and that black and white in the panel shouldn't be there. What do I do?

I am trying to remove some icons from the "taskbar"/panel and find the only real options are adding MORE widgets, adding another panel, or deleting the whole panel.I simply want to remove a duplicate and re-arrange the icons without having to delete the panel, add another panel, and careful add, in the order I want the icons, the widgets right-click on the panel and I get "Task Manager Settings ALT+D,S" and "Panel Options" which offers no visible means of managing the panel.I condemned to deleting the panel and starting over?
I deleted my taskbar panel. How can I get it back? I prefer to use a dock, and so I'm using Cairo-dock, and because of this, I deleted my taskbar panel, and I was just wondering how I would get it back, if I ever wanted to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to ubuntu 10.10 and went through changing all my settings back to normal, but now when I change the opacity of the panel, it only affects the centre. I want the whole panel to be transparent like it used to be in 9.04. So is there any way to do that? Also, I tried using autohide, but its not responsive enough for me and i couldn't find settings for that either. So what about autofade? I can't find anything on that either. But it would be a great idea. I like my desktop being empty and clean, without the panels, (no im not changing it to the apple dock thing) EXCEPT when I actually want the panels.

It's supossed to flash or blink when I receive a message (I've already configured Pidgin and I've also tried with emesene) but it just doesn't flash. I think it's something related to gnome or ubuntu config so it won't flash under any circumstance but I am not sure.

You can see that the firefox and gimp are "active" and too dark to read, while kwrite is inactive and readable.They are BOTH too dark, and I cannot seem to find the option that controls those color elements.

View 4 Replies View Related(It just quietly fails so I'm left wondering like in Windoze "is it hanging?") On the taskbar, next to my computer icon I inserted a drawer. I was hoping to put in my Favorite Applications (wine apps don't seem to get inputed to opensuse's recent list.
What I've tried is: (all to no avail, also note: I've been inputing this in Add To Drawer- Custom Application Launcher.) Also, note the directory location is valid as well, it's how I did it in my windoze installation.

Often I open FireFox, get information, which I want to save in an OpenOffice Writer or Calc file.So I go to the left lower corner on the screen, tap on Computer, and then on OpenOffice Writer.When the OpenOffice window has opened, I do not see, as I used to do, the FireFox button on the taskbar (or panel), I have to drag the OpenOffice window, so I can access my FireFox window. When I do that, the OO window bounces, which makes me feel rather sea-sick.Is there a way to have the button for the open applications visible on the task bar (or panel) so that I can go immediately to the other open application ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo this morning I just upgraded my laptop from OpenSuSE 11.2 to 11.4. I am using the Gnome Desktop (2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2011-04-25 21:48:33 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux).
As of right now the "Taskbar" at the bottom of the desktop, does NOT stretch all the way across the bottom (meaning it would start on bottom-left edge and go to the bottom-right edge) of the screen. Right now it is sort of centered at the bottom, and its size changes depending on how many windows are open.
So is there any way to set it to a fixed width (by that I mean I want it to take up the entire bottom of the screen x-amount of pixels high, etc..
I have updated my distro from openSuSE 11.1 to 11.3. Everything works fine exept I have now a black taskbar and black tooltips with black characters on it . I googled a lot but couldn't find an issue.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI request assistance to fix the following annoying problem: In SuSE 11.2, GNOME, the taskbar and menus are not available after boot up. Consequently I do not have access to applications which I urgently need for some work I am doing.
Lately I had to reboot a couple of times (by way of terminal window) in the hope that it comes up. Now, however, the taskbar/menues do not come up any more.
I use Multiple Desktops, however when I change my Desktop I still see the applications from the previous workspace. This takes up a lot of space on the Taskbar.
I have the following settings at Application Launcher-> TaskBar;
-unchecked: Show windows from all Desktop
-checked: Sort windows by desktop
Are there any other changes that I need to make.
I xkill'ed my task bar - so now it's gone. I tried to run kicker from the konsole, but that command is not recognized. I have about a million applications running/open, so I really don't want to log out.

I'm running LibreOffice 3.3.1 and 3.3.2 on openSUSE 11.4 KDE. Does anybody have a problem where the KDE interface hangs after copying text in LibreOffice writer? On my system, I copy text in LibreOffice Writer either with the keyboard shortcut or with the context menu, and then I try to click on another window in the task bar, and it doesn't respond for about 2 seconds. The interface within LibO does keep responding though.
