Just noticed yesterday, don't know how long this has been going on. BUT I won't seem to be able to use any other workstation except number 1. It won't let me move applications between workstations.

I have done some googling - same question being asked by others but no answer I could find .. so here goes...
I am using Rhythmbox to listen to radio stations - I would like to import a lot of stations into it without having to go through a huge list adding individually. a good free Virtualization Software Package that work on OpenSuse with the KDE Desktop
Is there any way I could import a list somehow?
I cannot get my favorite streaming stations to work. I think that it is related to the Iceweasel shockwave flash plug in.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed OpenSuse 11.2 KDE on my Macbook and try as I might, I cannot get used to Amarok. I like Banshee and it's simple interface, plus the way it handles radio stations and the like.
I did install it using YaST and I am able to run it, but I am unable to add internet radio stations and also I am unable to play them (and other MP3 files) if I manually connect to the stream. As far as adding radio stations, I am unable to because the Genre box stays grayed out and the Save button stays grayed out because the Genre box has not been filled in (but I can't because it's grayed out). As far as playing MP3s, Banshee says I need a codec and when i click 'Search' for a suitable codec, it takes me to an OpenSuse download page with the decoder there but it's for OpenSuse 10.3, not 11.2.
These are probably simple problems with simple solutions but I can't seem to figure them out. Also, K3B says the MP3 Decoder is missing as well. I'm sure it is related to the Banshee problem too.
I'm trying to get a "network device" (read Internet Radio) to play the BBC stations. Apparently they changed their format late last year, and the radio (using Frontier Silicon Wi-Fi Radio Portal - Member Login) can no longer play the streams ("Network error" message). I thought I would try manually setting something up, but it is not easy trying to find what the actual streams are, when everything is playing in the iPlayer.
Is there a Suse/Linux app that can identify streams coming in, when being played in iPlayer..
I borked my perfectly good 11.2 install, while replacing a failing hard drive. I reinstalled, and now my sound doesn't work - or not quite. I get the left front channel, nothing else. Battle Duel crashes due to sound errors - or I probably wouldn't care.

I've got a multiboot system with Windozin the first drive and first partition like everyone recommends. I have several distro's and just let them install their bootloaders, but always on hd0 mbr. I installed Debian 5.0.1 this way and it wouldn't boot, so I got SGD to "fix" it, which it said was successful, but all I get is a partition doesn't exist when I try to boot. I put Debian on /dev/sdb3, I loaded Linux Rescueand mounted sdb3 and verified that its menu.lst had the right boot numbers (hd1,2). fdisk even showns /dev/sdb3 as boot as shown by the asterisk under the boot column. Should I do a complete reinstall of grub, maybe using one of the other distro's as the holder of grub? At one time they did all the grub launching as each addition was made

I installed all of the software I wanted.I now want to clone the installation to 6 other workstations that are 100% identical to the first.I used clonezilla to create the image, but all of the new workstations will not boot. This is due to the fact of the fstab being 100% cloned and other boot volume problems.Does anyone know of a good, easy way to clone opensuse 11.2 that will work?

i've recently got bored of rhythmbox and i am now using exaile on ubuntu 10.04, i want to remove most of the stations from the shoutcast tab as i only listen to the hardstyle ones and some of the rock ones.
if any can share some light on this i would be very grateful, i have searched my filesystem for possible ways but all i get when searching for exaile is .pyc an .py files (i don't know about programming)
Just installed 11.2 on my Thinkpad T61 and during install the mouse pointer (synaptics) works fine but not the mouse buttons. After the install on every first login the pointer works but not the buttons. If I restart the gui and try to login into gnome again then all works agin. But it always fails on the first login and gnome sessions

I've tried installing the GNOME live CD both from a CD and a USB but after I select installation it goes to the loading screen for a few seconds and then the screen goes black and it stays like that till I reboot. Is it a problem with my hardware or something or did something miss-write when I burned the CD/USB?

I have just downloaded a mirror copy of SUse 11.2 and formatted my hard drive, so i can install the linux OP. But it seems like that it is not readable or better to say the boot from CD-rom does not work! Am i on the right track here? How do i go by installing a Linux on a fresh hard drive?

iTunes radio setting on Mac has hundreds or thousands of internet radio stations that the user can select from and listen to. Is there such an app for Ubuntu? That would be easier than finding all their web sites and bookmarking them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dell E6400, which I picked up recently 2nd hand. Previous owners had Win 7 evaluation version on it, which had expired. Originally the machine had Vista Business on it and Lic Key intact. I installed Opensuse on without problems whilst waiting for the original Vista disc to make it's way to me - forgot to pick it up with the machine.
I now want to get rid of the expired Win 7 and re-install Vista, but the grub is only giving me the option of Windows, Opensuse, Opensuse Safe and Floppy. My machine only has a cd/dvd drive and when I've selected this the dvd has started, but then it looks like it defaults back to Opensuse which goes so far then freezes. No obvious way for me to reinstall vista. This may of course be a completely daft question to ask, but I've looked at this for an hour or so and can't figure it out...?

So the idea was to get 3gb (1gb 667Mhz + 2gb 800Mhz).After GRUB starts nothing happens (at least on screen).By the way I also tried the 800Mhz RAM alone and it worked so it's ok.Why openSUSE (11.3) can't boot with these two different RAM memories?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs stated, NO USB functions, not at all, the light on the mouse is on, but it does not move on screen, the PS2 keyboard does not function either. Nothing that would allow you to install it, works at all. I am absolutely shocked not one single person on here has mentioned this.
The last time I tried OpenSuse was version 10, it installed without issue, I noted the installer as the nicest one in the Linux world I had seen to date, only to be utterly let down by this USB fumble.I have Legacy USB support, Legacy Keyboard and Legacy Mouse USB support on, that isn't the issue, and this didn't happen with 10 on the same system.
I have two disks, one with 11.2 installed, the other has 11.3 RC2.The upgrade process worked perfectly with 11.3 RC2.With 11.2 upgrade, after the first reboot, I get nothing but a text screen (TTY1). Failsafe mode gives me a black screen. What's the difference? Both disks in the same computer.
