OpenSUSE Hardware :: 1 Command To Download The Latest Ati Installer?
Jun 15, 2011
Looks like the following command does it:
Code:
wget http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/$(curl -s http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx | sed -n 's/^.*(ati-driver-installer[^"]*)">.*/1/p')
I'll add it in atiupgrade soon, so it will try this before the version hardcoded in the script.

If I go to the website and download the ISO file is it the exact same one that was released in April or will it contain the latest patches (e.g. security fixes, etc) that have been release since then? If it doesn't I suppose I'll have to download the entire ISO file, install the OS, and then have another couple hundred MB to download which is not what I'd prefer.

About a couple of days ago I'm sure I saw that Open Office was offering a DVD file download of their latest version. It was including versions for Win. Mac and Linux all on the one DVD. Now, after buying a DVD burner for my 'puter, I have been unable to find that information again.

Next week we will get a new Server for rent with a preinstalled Debian. If we download the Networkinstaller and put it in Grub, it is possible to set some settings with a script or commandline? We need SSH and the Network haves to run. So we have to set up the Networkadress , Gateway and Netmasq. So if the Networkinstaller is booting that we get direcly access with SSH to install CentOS. It is possible?

I have a SONY PCG-R505TE laptop with an external CD/DVD, it connects via what I think is a PCMCIA card, the drive came with the laptop and functions fine. I currently have Windows XP running on this laptop, but it's very slow.I downloaded openSUSE-11.3-GNOME-LiveCD-i686.iso and sucessfully burned it to a CD.I have the laptop bios set to boot from CD, and it appears to be doing that no problem. When it boots I first see the welcome screen, then the openSUSE Installer, whether I select the Live (GNOME) option, or the Installation.. it loads the kernel, and then loads the KIWI boot systemit is on the third event, waiting for CD/DVD dvices to appear... that something seems to fail... I then see Failed to detect CD/DVD or USB drivethen a rebootexception and it reboots in 120 seconds.

I am running Ubuntu 9.10, I used Synaptic to download R version 2.9.2. I am trying to download Bioconductor 2.5 using a R command using these instructions [URL]. When I enter biocLite(), I get "argument 'lib' is missing: using '/home/pedro/R/i486-pc-linux-gnu-library/2.9" an error I never encountered in past ubuntu versions. After the packages finish installing, it says they are in a temp file /tmp/RtmprtEjox/downloaded_packages and that there were a couple of Warning messages:
