Apr 29, 2011When I increase the font size from Konqueror settings the web browser fonts change but the file manager fonts stay the same. Is there another way of setting them?

Jan 8, 2011I recently changed my Graphic card drivers from Nouveau to nVIDIA in Suse 11.3 KDE.
One thing I have noticed that initially I had been using various Adobe Fonts in many applications prior to change of drivers. But after this change the looks of the same fonts became quite different, the length & breadth of "individual letters" changed quite a lot making them look not so beautiful as they were earlier. Am I missing something or is it a normal phenomenon. But I am satisfied with the present looks.
OpenSUSE :: 3.2 Fonts Get Loaded To /usr/local/share/fonts?
Feb 23, 2010I have just installed openSUSE 11.2 X86_64 on my laptop, I then used KDE to install lots of type 1 fonts for my printer. These get loaded to /usr/local/share/fonts/...These installed fonts are visible to KDE (KWRITE) and GIMP so I assume that the installation was O.K. When I start openOFFICE writer I do not see these fonts. The font selection appears to be the fonts located under /usr/share/fonts. I have not tried other ooo3 components. I assume that they are not going to see the fonts either.
I have searched google and it appears that /usr/local/share/fonts is the correct location for non-packaged fonts. Has anybody any idea what is wrong? I think I could move all the fonts to /usr/share/fonts and ooo3 would work but this seems to break the installation directory structure. I have considered symlinks but I don't like the idea of defining a font twice to Linux and creating the syslinks is more work than reinstalling the fonts if they are lost

Feb 24, 2011installation opensuse 11.3 and kde 4.4 after update to kde 4.6, work fine, but problem is login screen is low like 640x350...? i wanted to change from lowtion to high 1024x768?when i start opensuse and begin to login was low resolution and log in my user and it's low resolutiona dn i change screen from setting system (kde) after change high display is works fine and rebbot same low resolution for LOGIN MANAGER how i can change it??

Aug 16, 2010openSUSE 11.3 with KDE 4.4.4 release 2.I can change the desktop theme and the splash theme, but I can not change the KDM login manager theme.First, I changed th setting /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager DISPLAYMANAGER_KDM_THEME from suse to nothing in Yast -> /etc/sysconfig editor in order to get rid of the ugly Suse login theme.That resulted in having the traditional KDM login theme with the clock.I go to Personal Settings -> Advanced tab -> System: Login Manager (I enter the root password).In tab "General" I checked "Use themed greeter". Gui style and color scheme are set to default.In tab "Theme" I select a theme, click apply, then clikc ok.I log out and log in again. Nothing has changed. I still have the oldstyle KDM login theme.

Jul 5, 2009I'm on openSUSE 11.1 KDE 4.3 RC, and I'm using the kde-branding-openSUSE with KDM from the factory KDE repo, and factory community repo - everything is up-to-date.For some reason my KDM login settings screen is ALL grayed out, so I can't change the theme/settings. I know that you can change it by going to yast and editing the /etc/sysconfig thinghich I actually tried doing, and failing, which is odd because I changed it once a ltime ago to glassified, but can't manage to do now...) I don't want to use a theme, though, but actually use my current wallpaper and set the settings in the login manager to something of my preference.

I installed a Gnome Theme that Works like Windows 7 theme but it didn't change the Browser fonts so I removed it.

Aug 30, 2010I reduced my system font sizes from default 10 down to 8, but I want to also reduce the height of the Main Menu correspondingly. I've searched the forums and Google, but can't find a method for doing this. See the screenshots - both menu heights are exactly the same, but if I reduce the font size, I'd like the menu to shrink too.
