May 17, 2010I'm using virtual network (NAT network) for my domU.When I change dom0's firewall setup, the domU will fail to connect to Internet anymore.So far, the only way to bring the network back is reboot dom0 !I try to restart service network and libvirtd on dom0 ... it doesn't work.How can I bring the domU network back without reboot dom0 ?

Sep 28, 2009I have installed the CentOS 5.3 on VMWare. Then I Have Installed Apache ,PHP , Mysql with the flowing Command :

Then I tested my Web Server , Data Base server and PHP Whit Create A PHP Page that work to Mysql this Test is successfully. Next I ping my machine IP (192.168.6.131) and then Ping windows xp machine. Even I Ping My Linux machine in Windows XP. But when check the PHP Page Or Local host in Linux machine whit Browser (IE or FF in XP), Response (IE:) Cannot display the webpage or (FF:) The connection was reset.

Oct 7, 2009I'm running wordpress and have gone to the painstaking effort of setting up the ftp server on my 5.3 machine so it can do its own updates and download plugins. However, I've found that if I try to download anything, I get a "unable to resolve host..." error from the script. If I watch Iptraf while making the request, I see all the port 53 requests going to 127.0.0.1. Pings are too.
However, if I ssh in, I can ping and wget and whatever I want all day long and all the DNS requests to go the router (Clarkconnect 3.2 gateway machine). The web browser in the terminal works fine too. What is it about the php scripts that is causing them to misdirect pings and dns requests? I've never seen anything like it and can't find anything on the web about it either.

CentOS 5 Networking :: Can Only Open Apache On Local Machine
May 26, 2011I just getting back to working with linux. I'm having a problem with what seems to be an iptables thing or something easier than that, Enough here is the question I can get apache to run on the local machine by either going to http://localhost or by the ipaddress on the CentOS machine. But for some reason when I try to take a look on my laptop (on the same network) and try to go to it using the IP address is doesn't go. I can ssh from my laptops but it will not open the apache startup page.

Jul 21, 2010I am seeing an unknown internet connection both send and receive of about 5kbits that seems to happen every 15 seconds or so. I noticed this the other day and rebooted. It went away but I noticed it again. Nothing shows in the System monitor under processes. I can close all programs and it still seems to happen. What is the best way to track down what is causing this connection, and how to tell what it is connecting to?

Jan 20, 2011I am installing Big Brother on a CentOS 5.2 running the default Apache 2.2.3. When I try to access any web page I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /bb/ on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at fmsubbnix Port 80 So far I have:
1) Set the Directory options to FollowSymLinks
2) Verified all directory and file permissions are at 755
3) Set permissions temporarily to 777 and received same error so I am assuming the issue is in a config file somewhere
4) in hhtpd.conf verified <Files ~ "^.ht"> is correct
5) verified the "default" directory is correct (/var/www/html)
I have read and tried several ideas in posts listed on the web but to no avail and am at a loss as to what to look for next..

Jul 12, 2011I've been trying to find an answer to the following problem : whenever my PC is put in Suspend/Hibernate mode, it fails to recover when pushing the power button. This happens both with automatic suspend or manual suspend. I've been reading this problem, and mine is quite similar, but no solution is given.

I follow, read and test the article 3 times without any success, went I try to boot my machine with the raid disk it show error about that cannot find my root "/dev/root"

Nov 30, 2009I have just downloaded and installed the latest version that I know of, Centos 5.4. I initially selected all of the packages and the installations crashed. Since I am installing it on a private network I couldn't save the info. I tried deselecting the packages until finially figuring out the 'extras' was the problem. I deselected that and the installation went fine. What's on the extra's? Part of the error message was something to do with a Python. I have been trying to use Cobbler, is that part of the 'Extras'.

Jun 7, 2010I have tried building the minimal & desktop Centos 5 live CDs to no avail.Depending on the build environment, they either do not build at all (Centos 5, i386) or they build but kernel panic when I boot them (Fedora 12).I've tried various tweaks to the provided kickstart files but I have not had any success.It is important to note that I have written some very impressive (according to others) Fedora kickstart builds so I am at a loss why the stock Centos files fail.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?I suspect it has something to do with the livecd-tools or syslinux versions but all of the versions I have tried it with make no difference.

I want to know whether is it possible to configure heartbeat between two such different networks (what i found by surfing internet is the way of configuring in same network) if possible, can i configure to listen to my primary server IP instead of having a secondary IP in primary server (since my SMPP service is running with my primary server's IP)

Dec 26, 2010I have setup a MySQL High Availability Cluster with two nodes using DRBD & Heartbeat. I have successfully installed the cluster but one question which is still not solved is that Heartbeat monitors failover of network or server failure, etc.
What will happen if MySQL service gets stopped or do not start. This heartbeat-DRBD cluster does not take any action on that part. Now I want to enable this feature too which also monitors MySQL service. I have gone through MON help on web but could not find out any good step by step tutorial.

CentOS 5 :: Solution Cluster Fail To Start Virtual Services After Upgrade To 5.5?
May 16, 2010After upgrading Centos 5.4 cluster nodes to 5.5 all virtual services failed to start. All virtual services are marked as 'failed'. The reason: new /usr/share/cluster/vm.sh requires 'which', but this is not reflected in rgmanager-2.0.52-6.el5.centos.
Solution: run 'yum -y install which' on all nodes, and reboot cluster. Hope that will save somebody hours of downtime.

This killed all my websites, no DB and worse.Well I typed the wrong this (totally my fault - serious EPIC FAIL)i typed yum remove mysql not downgrade...This removed plesk and a load of other stuff, and now im screwed.

Jul 5, 2009U have spent 4 days trying to configure my router thinking that it is my router that is not working but when I go to my dynamic dns or my static ip address it takes me to my admin router on the local computers.when I type httpd it says it cannot bind to port 0.0.0.0:80 i checked it is set up to listen to port 80 this is really confusing me i am beginning to think the people who built my server did not set it up properly if i go to localhost or 0.0.0.127 it goes to the apache default page fine.I have not changed anything since it wad installed except the centos 5 updates any ideas?When i login my password is root and the password is the default I have changed nothing else on the system as I still have no clue about it.Just to clarify on my router I have port 80 and port 443 set to my static ip address is this correct or should it be the eth0 Bcast ip address?Can anyone give me an idea of what i need to check? On my router I have set up port 80 and port 443 and dynamic dns and static ip address.Sorry I am totally new to linux never used it before would be nice if anyone has any ideas how i can proceed with this.
