Apr 10, 2010I'm encountering a known problem with IPtables. I set up rules and apply them, restarting firewall, then I get this message:

Oct 12, 2009I am using apache2 with subversion and trying to get post commit script to run an svn update command. All svn commands seem to work fine manually
Everything used to work fine but then the server ip changed and I can no longer access it with the web name and have to use the ip directly
I am using tortoise svn with vista on my work machine

Sep 29, 2010Problem: computer and graphics card had been running for months without problem. For some reason, last night, things locked up...wouldn't think it's related, but happened when I noticed I was locked out of creating new folders on my usb attached My Book storage drive. So, from terminal I tried to sudo change permissions to read/write. Everything locked up. Now, every time I reboot it states needing to use low graphics mode "Screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly."
When I check the error log I see: "(EE) Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module.."(EE) NVIDIA(0): ***Aborting* Screens found but none have a usable configuration. Fatal Server Error - no screens found"
If I try to then start in safe low graphics mode or restart X, I get the Ubuntu splash screen with the 5 dots that turn red to show progress...but nothing ever happens. I can switch to VT 1, login at command line, and type "startx" and then the graphical desktop loads just fine. Video playback, etc. is perfect and fine - not in low graphics mode at all. System seems totally normal.
However, I have to go through these steps each time I reboot. Also, I noticed that when I try to boot from Ubuntu Live CD I can't. I get as far as picking English as a language, then screen goes blank and goes to power saving mode (no signal being sent). This greatly concerns me as even though I have a work around for now - getting to command line then startx'ing - if I ever needed to reinstall from the CD, it seems I can't.
Some info on my pc:Running 10.04 on Compaq Presario SR1950NX AMD 64 GeForce 6150 LE/PCI/SSE2/3DNow! <- believe built onto motherboard on what I can do to fix? Is this a sign that something is wrong with my video card?

Apr 9, 2009Since my Asus WL-3300 seems to be having trouble, I bought a USB adapter -- a Linksys WUSB54G ver 4. Version 4 was apparently important because it came with a Ralink 2570 chip -- and that's supposed to work with Linux (which is why I chose it).I think it will work because, without loading any drivers, Net Manager can see the local routers (about seven of them). But when I choose mine, though it asks for a WEP key, it never connects. I'm not sure now what driver is loading that *almost* works with it. But I think I may still need to load the driver from: URl...But when you read the page it says that the driver has entered the "Mainline Kernel" -- and I'm wondering if that is why the adaptor almost works.So the questions:
1) Without a driver, should this Ralink 2570 be working at all?
2) How do I find what driver *is* loading?
3) Modprobe doesn't seem to be able to find any rt25x00 module, is this right -- or is there some other name I should be looking for?
iwlink scan, ifconfig, etc., all see the adapter as wlan0.lsusb shows the adapter.I'm going to keep searching, but wrote this in case there is something really simple that I'm overlooking.

Networking :: IP Tables With 2 Routers?
Sep 1, 2010I have 2 routers both with 5 network cards (both different subnets). On both machines I have the following configuration: Eth0 is the internet conection, Eth1 is the conection to the other router and the other network cards are for the subnets.My current Ip tables script allows all the subnets of one router to see each other but not the subnets of the other router.
In the new situation I want not all but specific subnets to see each other (no problem here)The issue is that some of theese subnets are subnets of the other router. For example the subnet of eth2 router1 should be able to connect to eth 3 on router2. This is were eth1 comes in play. My plan was to configure iptables so that in above example eht2 would be forwarded to eth1, which will forward to eth1 on router2.Then the iptables configuration on router2 will forward it to the network card of the correct subnet.
eth2 (router1) -> eth1 (router1)
eth1 (router1) -> eth1 (router2)
eth1 (router2 -> eth3 (router2)

I follow, read and test the article 3 times without any success, went I try to boot my machine with the raid disk it show error about that cannot find my root "/dev/root"

Nov 30, 2009I have just downloaded and installed the latest version that I know of, Centos 5.4. I initially selected all of the packages and the installations crashed. Since I am installing it on a private network I couldn't save the info. I tried deselecting the packages until finially figuring out the 'extras' was the problem. I deselected that and the installation went fine. What's on the extra's? Part of the error message was something to do with a Python. I have been trying to use Cobbler, is that part of the 'Extras'.

Jun 7, 2010I have tried building the minimal & desktop Centos 5 live CDs to no avail.Depending on the build environment, they either do not build at all (Centos 5, i386) or they build but kernel panic when I boot them (Fedora 12).I've tried various tweaks to the provided kickstart files but I have not had any success.It is important to note that I have written some very impressive (according to others) Fedora kickstart builds so I am at a loss why the stock Centos files fail.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?I suspect it has something to do with the livecd-tools or syslinux versions but all of the versions I have tried it with make no difference.
