I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 recently converted to run Fedora 13. Everything seems fine except the touchpad mouse doesn't work outside the X-Window. When I boot to full multi-user mode, the mouse doesn't work at all. I think this is responsible for the typical UNIX copy & paste by selecting and right clicking not to work within GUI. I have install fedora11 live and the mouse work well when installing.When you reboot the mouse works ok until the welcome screen apears then the mouse stops working and I cannot continue with the postinstall. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Fedora 11 installed on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop, and have been using the installation for many months. Just this past couple of days, the 'right-click' on the mouse (whether using the trackpad mouse on the latop or an external mouse) has stopped working, but not completely. I can still right-click in firefox, on the bar at the top of screen, in a terminal window, etc. However, right-click is not working on the desktop, that is I can not right-click on a folder or a file. Nothing happens. If I right-click on the trash-can, nothing. So I know the mouse buttons are fine as right-click does work in firefox.

i'm using fedora 12 on my new EASYNOTE_TJ65-DM-139IT [URL]... from time to time (about one time a day) computer freeze, i cannot use my keyboard, mouse still work (that is: i can move the pointer on the screen) but click on opened windows, button, menu doesn't do nothing. I can't understand what's the problem and how to solve it, all i can do is hardware turn off the computer and reload fedora. This is quite disappointing, hw power off it every day can harm my notebook.

My USB mouse stops working sometimes after 5 mins, sometimes 30 mins. Used two different '"corded" USB mice, different USB ports. Same issue. The power to the mouse itself seems to turn off as the laser light is off. Unplugging and replacing does not fix, only a reboot. Same problem with Ubuntu and Mint.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Fedora 12 on a Shuttle SN78SH7. Updates are all current from the Fedora repositories. I'm using the Nouveau driver for the Shuttle's on-board Nvidia graphics adapter. At random intervals (1 to 5 times per day), my USB keyboard and the buttons on my USB mouse stop working and the desktop freezes (i.e. GKrellm graphical data stops updating, partially painted windows don't complete). However, I can still move the mouse pointer around the desktop. This only seems to happen when I am actually using the computer from the console. It has never happened while the system was turned on, but not being used.
When the mouse and keyboard stop working, I can log in from another computer via ssh. Once the computer gets in this state, the only way to fix things is either to reboot remotely using ssh or to cycle power. I've run low level hardware diagnostics - everything checks out OK. This computer only has USB and firewire inputs. No PS2 jacks.
I've used Katapult to launch applications on both my laptop and desktop boxes for a long time, but yesterday it stopped working on my laptop. It will bring up folders, but not apps. I checked the settings and compared the katpultrc file with the one on my desktop (they are the same) and also compared katapult.la and katapult.so from /usr/share/kde3 and they are the same also. I'm not having any other problems, and it doesn't appear to be a problem with katapult itself, and I'm getting no warnings of any kind. Also I have done the same package updates on both machines.

This stops my mouse buttons from working and I have to kill xorg. Anyone heard of this before or how to fix it? When I plug in my headphones, it doesn't mute the speakers and there is no sound in the headphones. I've checked alsamixer and the gnome-volume-control and all necessary channels are unmuted and turned up. But I have no idea how to proceed.
