I am using fedora 14. Previously my mouse pad was working fine, but I don't why it stopped working now.This happens only in gnome desktop as a root user, it is fine in other users. Also mouse is working fine in console as a root user. When I enter to gnome, mouse stop working.I guess my query is clear, if not please ask what was unclear

I have a 1TB usb externalHD that I am installing fedora11 and have partitioned it so that I have 500Gb free for fedora, system is doucore 2.4,4gb RAm, I tryed doing this with three differend mice and connectting the mouse to different usb ports
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue installing Fedora 11. The install goes fine, but after restarting (when I get to the initial configuration screen) my keyboard and mouse don't work. I can boot into the Live CD without issue. My boot.log file is below:

i'm using fedora 12 on my new EASYNOTE_TJ65-DM-139IT [URL]... from time to time (about one time a day) computer freeze, i cannot use my keyboard, mouse still work (that is: i can move the pointer on the screen) but click on opened windows, button, menu doesn't do nothing. I can't understand what's the problem and how to solve it, all i can do is hardware turn off the computer and reload fedora. This is quite disappointing, hw power off it every day can harm my notebook.

My USB mouse stops working sometimes after 5 mins, sometimes 30 mins. Used two different '"corded" USB mice, different USB ports. Same issue. The power to the mouse itself seems to turn off as the laser light is off. Unplugging and replacing does not fix, only a reboot. Same problem with Ubuntu and Mint.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Fedora 11 installed on my HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop, and have been using the installation for many months. Just this past couple of days, the 'right-click' on the mouse (whether using the trackpad mouse on the latop or an external mouse) has stopped working, but not completely. I can still right-click in firefox, on the bar at the top of screen, in a terminal window, etc. However, right-click is not working on the desktop, that is I can not right-click on a folder or a file. Nothing happens. If I right-click on the trash-can, nothing. So I know the mouse buttons are fine as right-click does work in firefox.

I installed Fedora 11 on an external usb HDD (StoreJet trascend) connected to my Acer AspireOne (110 L), and it has been working marvelous for over a month. Today, something really strange happened: After I choose the booting media (StoreJet trascend) Fedora 11 freezes on the loggin screen: Both, keyboard and mouse, stop working. I have no idea what services are shoot down or not recognized since the start screen starts with the blue and fedora logo one.

I'm running Fedora 12 on a Shuttle SN78SH7. Updates are all current from the Fedora repositories. I'm using the Nouveau driver for the Shuttle's on-board Nvidia graphics adapter. At random intervals (1 to 5 times per day), my USB keyboard and the buttons on my USB mouse stop working and the desktop freezes (i.e. GKrellm graphical data stops updating, partially painted windows don't complete). However, I can still move the mouse pointer around the desktop. This only seems to happen when I am actually using the computer from the console. It has never happened while the system was turned on, but not being used.
When the mouse and keyboard stop working, I can log in from another computer via ssh. Once the computer gets in this state, the only way to fix things is either to reboot remotely using ssh or to cycle power. I've run low level hardware diagnostics - everything checks out OK. This computer only has USB and firewire inputs. No PS2 jacks.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHere's a weird one. Once in a while I inadvertantly hit the key combination RIGHT-ARROW + INSERT on my keyboard while editing in Geany. This stops my mouse buttons from working and I have to kill xorg. Anyone heard of this before or how to fix it? I know I know, I should stop hitting those keys by accident, but it seems to happen at least once a day! This is on Fedora 12.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have custom built Linux kernel (2.6.31) and also xorg. xorg is using xserver 1.7.3 . I have an application which simulates the mouse and sends mouse move events. When I switch the device on, the system boots and Xorg comes up, I can see X cursor on the system. When I start sending mouse move events from the application, the cursor do not move. If I attach mouse to the device and then move the mouse, from this point onwards the mouse events get detected from the simulation application. I have checked the dmesg log as follows

I just upgraded to FC14 (64) from FC13 (32) and the mouse middle button (simultaneous left+right button) paste function has stopped working. I tested it with 3 makes/models of different mice and trackballs. For some reason (left+right) mouse returns the same code as the single right-button ('xev' value = 3). This worked in all previous FC and RH distros I've used in the past. Did a default setting get zonked somewhere? System: Toshiba laptop w/ USB mouse.

So i asked for help, and everybody just say install windows. And where is fun in that. If people when ever run into problem with some software on linux just install windows. Linux would never go forward. I m not some great gamer, but i would like to be able to play this game. Probably somebody run into same problem. I have an asus 1215b laptop. For some reason, when I plug my mouse into any of the USB 2.0 ports it doesnt work. However, these same ports work perfectly to coppy files onto pendrives or external hdd. However, the USB 3.0 works perfectly for everything. The last thing I expected was the newer 3.0 to work and not the older 2.0. btw, my mouse is a generic, brandless laser mouse (it is an inhouse brand of PC CITY stores: PC LINE). I have never had any problems with it before.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have read no fixes anywhere, oddly. This problem happened in 9.10 and seems to be back in 10.04. The fix on Ubuntu-Geek, which was re-posted various places, does not work either. However, I do know this is not a hardware issue... or think. I have a dual-boot with Windows 7 and it is not affected by this. Also, if I install anything 9.04 or earlier, this does not happen. Oddly, my netbook had 9.10 and now 10.04 but not this issue. Sadly I feel I must try other distros as this appears to be a Ubuntu specific error.

I downloaded a cursor theme from gnome-look.org and then installed it by dragging the tarball to the themes window. It said theme is installed. But the effects are not visible yet. I then shoot up firefox to see the new pointer working but not outside firefox. I even noticed the new pointer theme works in nautilus for all except pointing (it works while resizing, selecting text, loading but not the regular pointing).

2day morning itself i m downloaded 10.04.1 (32-bit Desktop) and when trying to install first it was stopped at timezone selection phase and no reaction Forward button disabled (at this time keyboard and mouse r worked) after words when i m trying to install again keyboard and mouse r struck.
