View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a very particular sound wave simulation program. To get an understanding of what i want let me describe it to you in a different way.
Imagine your look at a bowl of water from above and you poke the water at a specific frequency you will see wave patterns showing. Well im after a program that can generate that pattern with any particular frequency that i set, and to allow me to place different shapes and objects around the sound source or sources (i may want to use more than one sound source that may or may not be at the same frequency as first.) and see what kind of reflections i get.
I was also wondering if instead of a point sound source you could have an entire shape giving off a specific vibration. This will give very interesting results that i am also after.
There are some programs that show sound simulations that i have described but nothing that can do the requirements that i desire. Do any of you guys know of any programs that can do this? if not how much would it cost to build such a program?
I was wondering how to connect to wireless in a Linux command line environment -> I'm looking for a ncurses like program to do this, not a bunch of commands and files to edit.

It will return all relevant information to help diagnose a wireless connectivity problem, return connectivity stats and attempt to fix common problems such as blocks. It comes in cli - wireless_script_1.2.sh or gui - wireless_script_zenity_1.2.sh'

I have hddtemp installed and I get outputs of my HDD temperature in Terminal, but I can't see a the HDD temp sensor in the Preferences menu of my Sensors Applet.

I have been giving the task of shell scripting in C++ for implementation of Secure command in my shell. The Secure command will prompt for the filename and the password (like *****) and can only be displayed when ls -secure and password is provided. For example

I've never really used any kind of database before, but I want to learn the basics, so I'm playing with it a little bit at work. What I want to do is make a database to hold information on various articles. For example, with columns for the title, author, and date. Those are all easy. The tricky part is that I'd also like to be able to label articles with keywords so I can search for certain topics.
Since there's no way to know ahead of time how many keywords, if any, each article might warrant, I'm not sure how to put this in database form. There's no variable-sized array data type. It seems sloppy to just list them all in a single VARCHAR column. Making several columns that may or may not be left null and putting one keyword in each seems wasteful.
Our corporate wireless network uses continuously changing passwords with RSA tokens.So every time we need to connect to the wireless we need to enter a new password off the RSA token. For extra fun using the wrong password a couple of times in a row causes the users account to be locked.Network manager automatically stores and reuses the password, with the net result that it is constant getting my account locked.Is there some way to prevent it from storing my password for that network?

If the simulation time is 20 seconds, it do completes but for simulation times more than 20 seconds, it never comes to an end.

I've just installed Fedora this morning. In the past I've tried OpenSuse and Ubuntu. OpenSuse has it's problems and I don't like Ubuntu's new "Unity" GUI, so I wanted to try something else.
1. I got my first error about 1 minute after loading, when I tried to do a software update.("could not add package update for fedora-release-rawhide-15-3(noarch)updates: fedora-release-rawhide-15-3.noarch"). Not sure what that's about, but I found a solution on these forums (just using yum update on the command line).
2. My wireless card (Realtek) is not working. It took me ages (days) to figure out how to get it to work in OpenSuse. I had to compile the driver from source and install the firmware. I'm trying to do the same in Fedora, but am getting an error I don't understand.
On OpenSuse I had to install "Linux Kernel Development", "C/C++ Development" and "Base Development" from YaST, then compile using "make" on the command line. In Fedora I've installed gcc gcc-c++, kernel-devel and kernel-headers using yum. When I try and make the file, I get the following error:

3. I can't find any kind of software management tool in Fedora, just the yum thing on the command line. I don't mind that, but how do I know the names of the things I want to install? Is there some way I can search for software or something?
I am new to using OpenLDAP on OpenSUSE with the yast configure tool. I have used Openldap on Fedora before and there was a slapd.conf file that I could modify. It appears that the yast does something different. Anyway I need to find out what the rootdn password is, but I cannot find it since there is no slapd.conf file.

Now I have to do a 3minute long simulation in which during the firstnute the bandwidth is 1000Mbit/s, 500Mbit/s during the second minute and 1000Mbit/s during ththird one....Does anybody know how can i do this type simulation
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Cent OS 5.4 and I was able to successfully install ns 2.34 on the machine and run a few test FTP simulations. The problem stems from the fact that the ns 2 installation used in the ATM simulation , in the link provided, uses ns2.1b7 or ns2.1b9.
I have tried to see if I could cheat and implement the patch for my ns2.34 installation but that failed flat out ( make failed with an incorrect parameter error) I then tried to download the older versions of ns that were used in the ATM Simulation, ns 2.1b9 and that failed too ( otcl make failed with g++ error) which i figured failed because I am using g++ version 4.1 . ( From the docuemntation, this particular version of the software had trouble with any g++ version > 3.2)
a) Is anyone aware of any ATM Simulation patch for the current version of ns i.e. ns 2.34?
b) Is there anyway I can confgure the patch for the ns2.1b9/7 version to work smoothly with the ns2.34 version I have installed?
c) What are the recommendations for me to install the ATM Simulation provided on the URL above.
i have changed the network/internet tool on ubuntu 9.04 to wicd which now doesn't work, ethernet or wireless connection how do i change it back to whatever the default is?
