I'm trying to manually connect my wireless adapter to my router using WPA. I'm using Madwifi drivers for my D-Link DWL-G630. I keep getting the same error " Association request to the driver failed". I can connect to my router using wep through the GUI. I can not connect using the terminal. I created my /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf file
I installed amanda on a client that uses Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. When I do an amcheck from the server, I get this: Amanda Backup Client Hosts Check -------------------------------- WARNING: 192.168.3.23: selfcheck request failed: recv error: Connection reset by peer Client check: 1 host checked in 0.022 seconds. 1 problem found. I am using bsdtcp. I get an ACK error if I switch the client to bsd authentication. I read that I should enter servers adress to hosts file in /etc/ directory?
I am trying to backup a client called greetings.com, but when I do an amcheck on the server, I get: WARNING: greetings.com: selfcheck request failed: Connection refused

My setup is local install so I don't expect it to receive emails from the internet. However I do expect it to be able send messages to the internet, but it doesn't seem like it. I have tried setting up on FreeBSD before and it was able to do so but I wasn't involved in the setting of the machine though. I was just tasked to setup Horde
I am working on RHEL4 ES server. In our system Talk is not activated(i did not find it in services). To send a mail thru web based mail it is time taking process. I want to send a message(or a mail) to other server. How can I do this? Example: my server IP is 10.xx.xx.xx and the other is 10.xx.xx.xx
Anyone know what this signifies in the Apache logs files:
Code: [Tue May 04 20:56:06 2010] [error] [client *******] client sent HTTP/1.1 request without hostname (see RFC2616 section 14.23): /w00tw00t.at.ISC.SANS.DFind:) [Tue May 04 20:56:06 2010] [error] [client *********] client sent HTTP/1.1 request without hostname (see RFC2616 section 14.23): /w00tw00t.at.ISC.SANS.DFind:) [Tue May 04 21:05:18 2010] [error] [client ********] client sent HTTP/1.1 request without hostname (see RFC2616 section 14.23): /w00tw00t.at.ISC.SANS.DFind:) [Tue May 04 21:05:18 2010] [error] [client ********] client sent HTTP/1.1 request without hostname (see RFC2616 section 14.23): /w00tw00t.at.ISC.SANS.DFind:)
I keep getting emails from my 404 error handling system on my CMS saying "mail3.xps.idv.tw:25 cannot be found" with no referer. It would appear that someone is trying to use my server to relay spam to Taiwan. How do I check that my server has the right security to stop this happening?
I'm working on a old piece of code on linux, after compiling without porblem at the execution I have this response:
src/xproject/xproject: Ok, a color display! :-) X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 78 (X_CreateColormap) Serial number of failed request: 7 Current serial number in output stream: 15
looking at the source code I think the problem is related at the depth of my system 24 bit and the depth of this old piece of code 8 bit. Unfortunately also I don't have experience in programming the XVideo and if someone can give me some help in programming the XVideo interface
I spend all day, trying to make bluetooth working with my phone Nokia 2600. First, i try'it with bluez-utils 3.7, and later with 3.9, but i no luck. So, what i have. I use hcitool to scan for my device, and find'it. Next, i connect to my phone with success. Then i try pairing with my phone, using "auth", but here i got error: HCI authentication request failed: Input/output error
My Redhat 5.3 desktop running on an AMD 64 system was not receiving the updates from rhn until a few days ago when it started checking in and downloading updates. The updates crashed generating bug reports. I tried running yum-complete-transaction command, it aborted also. I found a knowledge base article with instructions on how to rebuild the rpm database which I followed. After completing the procedure I tried to reboot. The system gets to the logon screen and then I get the message Authentication Failed and the system locks up. The commands I ran are:
rm /var/lib/rpm/__db* rpm -rebuilddb yum clean all
I am also seeing a message during boot up that the module libxml2 is missing and when I try to download the package from rhn yum cannot find the server.
It is very annoying messing from GNOME. I understand the risks of running Linux GUI as root but its not a problem. tell me how to get rid of text message.
who just installed CENTOS 5, but i am unable to access my GUI, i landed on to the command prompt and with the help of google was able to install gdm, but now when i try to log in to my id it gives a message "my session has lasted for less than 10 sec'
Basically I want to change the resolution on my computer as the desktop is partially lost off of the screen. The needed resolution is not available so I am attempting to add a new resolution. I have used the [URL] for information on how to do this. I am completely new to Ubuntu and entering code so a TON of the results online have meant jibberish to me as people leave out the basics which I cannot find. Here is what I've done so far in the terminal...
I enter: xrandr I get: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 8192 x 8192 HDMI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI-0 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 698mm x 392mm 1920x1080 60.0*+ 1920x1080i 30.0 1280x720 60.0 2020x1180_60.00 (0x169) 200.0MHz h: width 2024 start 2160 end 2376 total 2728 skew 0 clock 73.3KHz v: height 1180 start 1183 end 1193 total 1224 clock 59.9Hz
I enter: xrandr --newmode <Mode''Line> I get: bash: syntax error near unexpected token 'newline'
Already I see an error message though without knowing what else to do I try to continue the code as follows... I enter: cvt 2020 1180 I get: # 2024x1180 59.90 Hz (CVT) hsync: 73.31 kHz; pclk: 200.00 MHz Modeline "2024x1180_60.00" 200.00 2024 2160 2376 2728 1180 1183 1193 1224 -hsync +vsync
At this point I see it shows 2024x1180 when I actually entered 2020x1180 which I find odd, though I try the next part with both 2024 and 2020 with same results. I enter: xrandr --newmode "2020x1180_60.00" 200.00 2024 2160 2376 2728 1180 1183 1193 1224 -hsync +vsync
I normally get no response after with a blank cursor, though one time I got: X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist) Major opcode of failed request: 150 (RANDR) Minor opcode of failed request: 16 (RRCreateMode) Serial number of failed request: 27 Current serial number in output stream: 27
I recently ran into the following problem when trying to ssh into my Ubuntu 11.04 server:
>> ssh user@site.com PTY allocation request failed on channel 0
I don't know for sure, but I think this happened after one of the latest Ubuntu updates I installed. In case it's of relevance, I'm remoting in from Terminal (Mac OS X 10.7 - Lion). Edit: The problem seems to be with Lion..
