How would you ( I )enable sam to publish web pages from his ~/website directory but not allow anyone else to publish to the web? I am trying to do this in Fedora. Or should i do this through Apache?
View 1 RepliesI'm using FC 11 and HP deskjet F2480. the last general update completely upset my printer settings and I can no longer use my printer at all. According to HPlib diagnostics I need to enable publish shared printers which I've dome. But it persists that the printer is not publised.
This is the second time a general update has messed up my printer setting, the time before I managed to fix by reinstalling HPLib. But this time it refuses with the message 'gs (GhostScript - PostScript and PDF language interpreter and previewer)', but I have the latest version of gs already installed.
I just installed FC14 on 2 different PCs. It takes over 40 seconds for either of them to open some webpages, ie amazons home page. It is not my internet connection. I can open the same webpage on both my Windows PCs in less than 5 seconds. I was using FC9 up until 1 month ago, and I believe it took about 15 seconds to open amazon, but I never actually timed it. I spend many hours a day on the internet and have used FC for many years. I have been very happy with it. Until now. My PCs are 1.8GHZ single processor and 2.4GHZ dual processor. Do I have to revert back to FC9 to fix this, or use a different distro?

One of our website is running on CentOS VM. Right now there is no traffic on the website static HTML pages. I do not have any clue as why it was taking longer time to be accessed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Cent OS 5.4 32 bit final installed in my dedicated server.
I used to run lighttpd with php in my server until now and all was fine.But yesterday I changed my website which needs apache to run. So installed apache using yum install httpd command.
Then I added the virtual host name of my domain in webmin panel but when i try to run my php script in browser then its not opening php pages.
Instead it downloads php files like index.php when i open in browser.So I guess apache is not able to compile and run php pages. Only html pages are opening right now..
Does anyone know if it is possible to publish Evolution calendars to ubuntu one as this would be an easy way to share my calendar with my wife who also uses ubuntu.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn my application, we are using Publish/subscribe model implemented in JAVA and when I implemented it on windows to windows os,it is working fine and able to publish the right data and even when I am trying the same between two different OS i.e between Windows and Solaris sparc or opensolaris. I am getting the expected data.
But when I am doing the same thing with same code on Linux and any other OS,not able to publish data on other OS's but when I am publishing the data from other OS to Linux,I am getting the right data.
In other words, $_SERVER does not have an entry 'SSL_PROTOCOL'. Is that correct? My other server (BSD) happily says 'TLSv1'.

What I'm wondering is if it would possible to send the video/images it captures to an ubuntu ftp server I have and if so how would I accomplish this. The camera I'm planning on getting has a built-in webserver, but from my understanding the video feed can only be accessed from local computers.

One is running Linux Mint 8 and the other is running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. The first time on either computer when I enable WebUI in the Deluge GUI it works fine. However if I ever disable it in plugins section I am subsequently unable to re-enable it (doesn't appear in the side panel again). Rebooting or reinstalling Deluge seems to have no effect.Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm very new to Linux, and I have ran a Windows XP server before, with a Apache2 Server software for Windows. and didn't have any problems with it, but I really want to set this server up with Linux.
The server is running, but the only thing that comes up in the browser, is the html pages, the pages call all the images from a folder /images/ but for some reason I can't get it to pull the folder up. None of the graphics show on any of the pages.
I also have a VirtualHost setup, and have another website set up in the DocumentRoot with the 2nd site, but it won't come up ether, even tho it is listed as the 2nd VirtualHost, and have that folder set up as the DocumentRoot.
I'm just using IP Addresses for now till I get this all sorted out.So if I enter the IP the main page comes up, just no graphics. if I enter the IP Address/2ndSiteFolder/ I get a directory listing with the 2nd site folder listed, so now if I click on the 2ndSiteFolderName, it comes up as IP/2ndSiteFolder/2ndSiteFolder/ Now the 2nd site comes up, and so does all the Graphics for that site, even if I go to some of the other subfolders site. So its just weird. I don't know what I need to do to get this to work right.
I know it has to do with setting up the folders for VirtualHost, I just don't know what it is. I have been working on this for a week, and I'm not getting anywhere..
Does anyone know of any man pages that would provide me information on commands in shell scripting like while or case? I have a test tomorrow where we have to write shell scripts and we're allowed to use the man pages, but not allowed to look at previous scripts. I don't feel like memorizing a bunch of commands if I don't have to.

I did the yum install and I found this helpful link...However when I try to change the dir it puts the info into, it keeps giveing me an error cannot cd to the directory. I changed the /etc/webalizer.conf file as described in the above article and try to run it manually same results. /etc/cron.daily/00webalizer Error: Can't change directory to /home/webalizer/When I put the original dir back in the path it writes to /var/www not /var/www/output like it should. I even tried a local /var/wwww/output dir. Then I tried a link to /home/webalizer/output (a dir I created) and same results.(with orginal .cfg in place)I go to my www page remote or on the local network I get page not found errors.In summary.1. Why wont the /etc/webalizer.cf file allow me to change the location of the files?2. How do I display the www page to view the data?3. How can I secure the www page so only I can view the data.

To view a page from inside the games own browser(it has an internet browser style menu) there is a button that says "open in external browser" I've used it hundreds of times to save that particular page to a folder when I was in windows but now that I'm using fedora it doesnt do anything. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have linux firefox installed on my notebook, and after having a bit of a problem with it, I did a full factory reset back to all the original settings. Now when I connect to the internet, some of the pages now are not displayed properly. For instance, when visiting E-bay, the listings look fine, but my E-bay page is all listed down the page, (if that makes sense) and I cannot look at any of the photos. MSN is also, how can I put this, spread out across the page. I have done a live update to see if that makes a difference, but no joy.
