i have installed solaris 10, on solaris i have deploy citrix xennapp 4.0 (Unix Version). installation complete successfully,but now i want to publish an application on citrix for publishing application on citrix there is command #ctxappcfg when i run above command in terminal below error showingctxappcfg: not foundso anyone has publish application on citrix plz let me know how to deal with above error tried searching google but there is no much information on citrix.

I have Slackware64 13.1 with multilib enabled. I downloaded the Citrix Client Receiver 11 from [URL] (it is available for 32 bit architectures only). I followed the installation instructions and all went fine. I even installed openmotif from slackbuilds.org repository as a dependency. When i tried to do:

In my application, we are using Publish/subscribe model implemented in JAVA and when I implemented it on windows to windows os,it is working fine and able to publish the right data and even when I am trying the same between two different OS i.e between Windows and Solaris sparc or opensolaris. I am getting the expected data.
But when I am doing the same thing with same code on Linux and any other OS,not able to publish data on other OS's but when I am publishing the data from other OS to Linux,I am getting the right data.

I have fedora 11, and installed citrix ica client from the citrix website, but it does not seem to be working. Basically nothing happens instead of launching. I have also installed "terminal server client" (which does work except for the citrix ica connection part of it). In this program when you go to the option "Add connection", then there is an option that says "Citrix ICA connection". It used to be greyed out before I installed the citrix client from the citrix website. Now it is not greyed out but nothing happens when you click on it (also no error messages). I also tried going on the hard drive to '/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfica' and also to "/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfcmgr" and manually trying to launch those executable files but nothing happens there as well.

Has any one been able to run Citrix applications on OpenSuse 12.1 ? I have installed the ICA client and the required openmotif, but when i try to start an app, it splashes the Citrix Logo then dies and no err.msgs is shown assist if you managed to get this working

I'm planning on setting up a linksys wireless camera to keep an eye on things while I'm away for the summer. What I'm wondering is if it would possible to send the video/images it captures to an ubuntu ftp server I have and if so how would I accomplish this. The camera I'm planning on getting has a built-in webserver, but from my understanding the video feed can only be accessed from local computers.

It is just a general discussion on "How Can Perl Be Useful in System Administration and Application Development on UNIX and Linux Platforms"? I am doing pretty much well with Bash and PHP. In fact, I am learning and experimenting in depth in those two domains. The project that I am working for these days has several scripts which are written in Perl and Ksh. They interact with Ab Initio graphs and perform extensive jobs. Anyways, my current role doesn't require me to have knowledge of Perl but I don't see any harm in learning something new.
So, before I take it, I want to know how Perl can help me and what I can do with it as a UNIX / Linux System Administrator and Application Developer? I just looked at some of its keywords, functions, and commands. Perl Variables are identical to those of PHP. Conditional Statements, Loops, etc. are also much the same as found in any other computer languages. So, at first glance, I have got this feel that it wouldn't be much difficult for me to learn it. But what do you say? Do I really need Perl when I am focusing on PHP and Bash?

I was able to ssh to a unix box from my laptop (I generated public and private keys and copied the public keys to the remote machine). Is it normal that I cannot ssh from the unix machine to my laptop? I expected that I could log in from both machines to the other. I am running ubuntu on my laptop and the other machine has redhat.

In order to use the sendmail utility, I created a text file as xxx.txt with the following entries:
From:abc@abc.com
To:to@to.com
Subject:This is the subject
Then from the command line I ran the following command :
/usr/lib/sendmail -t -i << EOM
Then something like > came as a return where I wrote `cat xxx.txt`
Then again something as > appeared where I put EOM and then the command prompt retuned back. However, I failed to receive any mail.

Installed Zend Server CE on 10.04 - install mostly fine. But phpmyadmin shows this error; "Your PHP MySQL library version 5.0.83 differs from your MySQL server version 5.1.41" I have followed the Zend online docs and used a DEB install. Why would these versions be different?how do I fix it so that the two are in sync?

Even though I have been using Linux for quite some time now (as a private web server), now that I want to create a new web server, I am willing to know exactly what is the philosophy of Ubuntu regarding package version management.
Let's use phpBB as an example, as I used it on my first server, and I intend to use it again on my new one. phpBB is currently in version 3.0.7 In the official Ubuntu software repository, phpBB is currently in version 3.0.4 Now I am facing a philosophical question: should I simply download the official version and simply deal with it, or is it more 'the Ubuntu philosophy' to stick to the 'supported' version, 3.0.4, even though, this version is a year and a half old?
I know that Ubuntu is based on Debian, which is itself a very secured Linux, which will only offer validated versions of software. And as such, man should not expect to always see the latest versions available. However, I am now wondering, is it better, security-wise, to stick to the 'validated' 3.0.4 or to go use the original 3.0.7? Because as all the holes of 3.0.4/5/6 are now known, I am not quite sure that sticking to 3.0.4 is for the best.
Now it came to my mind that the philosophy might simply be to use APT to get the latest valid version, and then to simply use the internal upgrade tool of phpBB to upgrade to 3.0.7. But as the phpBB as it is available for Ubuntu is really modified, in terms of files being splitted in many different folders, will the automated upgrade work?
And what will happen when Ubuntu will upgrade their version? What happens if they upgrade to a lower than latest version? Or to the latest (not even sure this would happen one day)? phpBB has an integrated upgrade feature, but what about all this for a software that doesn't have such a tool (MediaWiki for instance)?

I am trying to Setup citrix ICA client 9 on Ubuntu 9.04 Server. I installed it very easily and I am not getting any lib error also. But when I try to connect to the citrix server, it fails with a pop up saying "Error in Network Connection Network or Dialup connection may be preventing ......" This is driving me crazy from 3 days. I'm using FC 11 and HP deskjet F2480. the last general update completely upset my printer settings and I can no longer use my printer at all. According to HPlib diagnostics I need to enable publish shared printers which I've dome. But it persists that the printer is not publised.
This is the second time a general update has messed up my printer setting, the time before I managed to fix by reinstalling HPLib. But this time it refuses with the message 'gs (GhostScript - PostScript and PDF language interpreter and previewer)', but I have the latest version of gs already installed.

I am installing RHEL 5.5 to be a syslog server to collects logs from servers (HP-UX, Linux, Windows and Cisco Network Devices). and i can now collect logs from my windows PC on syslog linux server by using Datagram SyslogAgent software. can collect logs from HP-UX 11.23 server. and i configuring the Unix server as in the steps below:
1. Log in as root
2. Go to /etc/syslog.conf
3. Add a line: *.*<tab>@<Sentinel Server IP Address>
*.* @10.15.1.5
4. Save and Close
# netstat -na | grep 514
tcp 0 0 *.514 *.* LISTEN

Anyway i have a very old Mandrake server where a previous owner hosted mailboxes on. This server is getting very slow and does alot of e-mail related tasks like:popsmtpmxIt runs on sendmail (which is also very outdated...) and it doesnt seem to respond to its config files. And the whole smtp and mx thing leaves us with some really weird mail problems...So i want to implement it in our current mail setup in which i have it all on seperate servers:2 smtp server (dns roundrobbing) (postfix)4 mx servers (1 etrn) (postfix)1 webmail server (v-webmail) (just apache and connects to the pop/imap server)And 1 pop/imap server (postfix, dovecot)I also want to implement smtp authentication because of all the mobile clients i have to host... This is where it gets tricky.
I want to export the unix user table of the old mandrake server and import that into a mysql database. This database will be used to authenticate the smtp users.I also want the export of the unix users to import it to the other pop/imap server so users can logon to that server instead of the crappy Mandrake server.I would expect that the export from unux users to mysql (including passwords) is the hardest part. I googled it, but some of the stuff i found didnt seem to be very reliable, so thats where you guys kick in :-). So is this possible? If so, how can i do it?I know i should go with some kind of ldap situation but that seems a way bigger hassle then this setup.

I'm using postfix with unix accounts for a while now and I just realized today that SASL authentication, instead of working only with the USERNAME, it also works if the username is followed by ANYDOMAIN.COM
So, let's say I have the following UNIX users: tim, mike, john. If I set the Outgoing Username:[URL]..(where whatever.com can be any name you can think of) IT WORKS, even though it shouldn't, it should only work with tim, mike and john without any domain name. Does anyone know what might cause this and what's the workaround to this problem?
