at the moment my sites are storing to md3 which has the least amount of space. how can i transfer them and make everything point and save to md2?
In the past week or so I've noticed some weird network behaviour. I find accessing some sites such as Amazon, Paypal, and Bigstockphoto really slow. Sometimes the page will not load at all. Other sites are fine. The problem sites are not a problem for others on my LAN at home. When I try to open the problem sites, I can see in Firestarter blocked connections coming from 2.1(8/9).xxx.xxx on various ports such as 36007. This only happens for the problem sites. I attached a typical output from firestarter.
This happens with Firfeox or Chrome. Using Ubuntu 10.10
My system ubuntu 10.04 crashed. Now I boot from liveCD and I can�t mount HDD.
fdisk �l give partitions, but mount does not work. Crashed system should be on sda1 and it is ext4. code...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI dual boot XP and FC14 and have 2 routers. I can connect and ping one of these routers when I'm in FC and I have an IP address I just can't load any websites. When I connect to the other router (my main router) it works fine. When I boot into XP and connect to the problem router I can load pages fine. It's only when I'm on FC14 and connect to the problem router that I can't load pages even though I have an IP and can ping around.

I can't work out how to save the iptables. I searched the whole system for files/folders containing the name "iptables" and got 3 results:
/user/local/lib/iptables
/sbin/iptables
/lib/iptables
I've tried iptables save, iptables-save and iptables save active.
"iptables save" and "iptables save active" give me an invalid argument error. "iptables-save" isn't a valid command. "iptables --help" gives me a list of valid switches, none of which have to do with saving.
how I can save the iptables?
I just need a browser that can run sites using ActiveX on Linux. Are there any?

I have found the most simple way to get mp3 file
(1)Sometimes you get address ending with .mp3 so just copy the whole URI and use in terminal wget "PasteWhatYouCopied"
(2)But in the link I have mentioned there is no mp3 link in address bar.
Here I found out in totem-plugin-viewer(that is the thing that plays your file in browser).Just Click the button next to sound and select copy

And use just like before wget "PasteWhatYouCopied" -O output.wma
Also notice that you have the song as output.wma in current folder of terminal.
(3)If there is a video on webpage then either wait for it to get completely downloaded & get it from /tmp.Remember don't close the page till video gets downloaded completely & you copied it from /tmp then only close that tab.
(4)There is a firefox addon 'unplug' which can help for flv because after sending file to download via unplug you can close that tab.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Ubuntu 9.10 dual booting with Windows7.My ext3 /home is mounted as F: in windows.I share a firefox profile between them so that when i am in Windows my firefox uses the same profile as it does when in Ubuntu.It all worked great until recently. I am unable to save files by right clicking and save as. In the config i am unable to set a directory to save to. It neer asks me where to save to. Just nothing happens. some off my book marks are all messed up as well, my rss feeds have the same post on some random website every time i log on and i have to manually refresh to get the correct feeds back. I am unable to delete the random bookmark.

How to do this
wget -r --level=inf (or some other variant) will mirror the site.
wget -r -H --level=1 will get all the links (from all domains) to the first level.
Anyone have any ideas on how I could combine these, to get the entire of the main site and one level deep into external sites. I've been banging my head against the manual all afternoon.

now i can select and use the new resolution - until next reboot. after an reboot 1280x720 is again not available. even if i work with sudo - the resolution isnt there....

Config a CentOS iptables.I issued some iptables rules.the rules were effective at once.Then, I came with a "iptables-save", but the "/etc/sysconfig/iptables" file hasn't been updated, it still loads the defaults rules with CentOS after reboot.

For instance, if I have a thumb drive with the volume name of "SWORDFISH," how do I have Linux mount it at /media/SWORDFISH? I'm aware that this can be setup in FSTAB, but that requires that I know the UUID of the device beforehand and that I take the time to set each external device up in FSTAB first. That does nothing for me when I have a thumb drive that has never been plugged into my computer before.
This seems to be setup by default in Ubuntu/Kubuntu, but is not working for me with a fresh installation of Debian Squeeze and KDE4. I've spent the past 2 hours Googling for a solution and have turned up nothing. UPDATE: My results are inconsistent. Sometimes Debian mounts devices to mount points based on the volume names, and other times it gives them generic mount points (e.g. /media/usb1).
I am trying to setup fstab to automatically mount my NTFS partitions. I have used various Mount managers to create the entries in fstab. The fstab seems fine, but when mounting at boot or even via Nautilus I get the error message that I do not have permission to mount the disk.
1) Can this permission be set in the fstab file? If so what is the syntax of the fstab entry?
2) If not, is there a tool i.e. GUI to set the mount permissions?

I've been thinking and reading but I really don't find a solution, and this is why I decided to post here. I'm not a newbie using Linux but I know absolutely nothing about nfs and related stuff. If explanations are not clear/precise I'm sorry and absolutely open to explain myself better (I'm really desperate, at this point).
I'm running a Debian in a VirtualBox inside a RHEL5. To supply space to the virtual machine I'm trying to mount a disk (? maybe not?) that I created in the RHEL.
In RHEL: I created a directory /some/path/dir and I granted access to it from the VM (edit /etc/exports file and restart the nfs service)
In Debian: I created a directory to be used as mounting point (mkdir /other/nice/path/dir) and I tried to mount (mount -t nfs -v redhat:/some/path/dir /other/nice/path/dir). What happens next is the following:
mount.nfs: timeout set for Thu ...
mount.nfs: text-based options ...
mount.nfs: mount(2): Input/output error
mount.nfs: mount system call failed
Now, this Input/output error is too vague to trace where the problem is, but I really have no idea about how to go more in depth (are there logs somewhere? What should I look for? ... ...).
I have two internal hard drives.I just installed Debian Lenny in the smaller 80GB. But when I try to access the other hard drive it shows:
