Simple question but maybe not a simple task. I want to automatically remove the "On [date] [person] wrote:" message when replying to an email using Evolution. Any ideas?

Hi I am running a fedora 10 desktop. when i send an email using evolution the message was not sent but returns a error message:"Error while performing operation.DATA command failedError: 550 Viagra SPAM - Hi in Subject" and the message did not have an attachment just plain words. what might have gone wrong for i have been using this for sometime without a problem. or what security measures should be in place to remove this viagra spamAm I infected by virus on this fedora, all my updates are up to date.

Also, by right clicking a message and, create rule from message > filter based by subject, sender, and recipients. Accepting all default (auto populated) conditons. None of the filters work at all? Seems this is a popular problem that has not found a solution except to use Thunderbird. not including ThunderbirdWhen I select a message that is supposed to be filtered to a specific folder and go to Message > Apply Filters. message goes to the assigned folder, but I want it to skip the inbox all together.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter installing Evolution, the date format for entering birthdays was MDY. I edited the preferences and see under contacts it was set to "Use locale default" (which it identifies correctly, but should therefore have been using DMY).
I changed the format to a preset item in the drop-down selection to force it to %d.%m.%y %H:%M:%S which didn't change the birthday field behaviour. Have done the same in Calendar and Tasks, still no change.
if/where you can change the date format for the Birthday field in contacts in Evolution?
i wanted to remove evolution mail and calendar since it was of no use to me..
i removed it..
and then the date and time which used to be visible on top right of my screen have suddenly disappeared..
how can i get them back?

i am working on a project that uses message queues. i am able to successfully create them and they are working fine. now the problem is to close/remove message queues without software or mq_close / mq_unlink command. earlier when i worked on rh9, there is ipcs utility. we use ipcs to see all the existing message queues and ipcrm to remove them. however ipcs is not working for message queues in RHEL 5.3. Neither ipcs shows the exisiting message queues and neither we are able to use ipcrm. Plz guide to close/remove the queues with ipcs or any other command/utility from shell itself.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI installed fresh installation of F15 and I've allways used Evolution as my mailclient. There was in older Evolution versions option "Mark message as read in X secs" I set that to zero to read emails smoothly, now I have to wait after every message that it's got "as read" and that's really annoying especially if it's automatically sent message from server that I don't really have to "check" it just click it to get it as read. I've been gone thru all the settings of current Evolution in F15 and haven't found anymore that option. Maybe there's conf file somewhere that I can put that? That "Help" page for Evolution is kinda outdated.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen they get a new message in Evolution the envelope on the top panel turns green but that's not the case with me. It doesn't work even if Evolution is running. However, I added Thunderbird to the indicator applet and it works fine but only when Thunderbird's running which is kinda pointless. Anyway, I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 32bit and so far that's my only problem with it.I really want it to work with the indicator applet(not with mail-notification from the repos) and with Evolution 'cause that's my favorite mail-client.

When new messages come into the inbox, I get a message "Unable to retrieve message" in the lower screenI can work around it by clicking on the first folder under Inbox and then back to Inbox. When I click to the subfolder I have a message at the bottom that says "Error while Storing folder 'Inbox'".It would be nice if it simply worked the first time. It feels like it thinks there are two or more folders that might be "Inbox".

View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure exactly when this happened.I noticed (and posted here) several days ago that notification SOUNDS had stopped working but now the indicator isn't working at all with evolution.I get pop-up OSD notification things saying I have a new message but the indicator doesn't change to green and there is no entry for new messages or message counter in the menu, though the arrow is there to indicate evolution is running.

I would like my work email (which I check via IMAP) to be copied locally as it comes in so that I can file it properly, but also kept on the server so that I can access through my laptop.
I have set a message filter which does the following:

The filter works (if I apply manually then it goes) AND I have set the preferences to apply filters automatically, but no joy when a new email arrives.
Just upgraded to 10.10, evolution worked the first time but has not worked since. Have tried re installation but no joy. Starting for terminal shows:-

It was working in 10.04.
I have just set up my new Evolution account, and I set it with Novell, and when I try to send out an email, Novell is not recognized, and the message won't send out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpgraded to 11.04 a few weeks ago and after some tweaking found a way to adjust to the Unity shell. When I initially upgraded Im certain that when Evolution alerted me of an upcoming event, that the mail alert icon on the top panel would change to indicate the pending event. However, for the last few days Ive noticed that when Evolution alerts trigger I see the alert bubble, which quickly fades, but the mail alert icon does not change. If Im not right at my workstation when the alert triggers its easy to miss upcoming events. I googled around for a solution, but found nothing or missed it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using 11.04 Unity, & quite like it. I fired up Blender 2.49b the other day (not used it for a long time) & its behaviour was very erratic. Due to this I decided to reinstall 10.10 for the time being, until October or maybe even the 12.04 LTS. I backed everything up & reinstalled 10.10. I then tried to restore my Evolution from the Natty backup file, which simply didn't work. The message was something about it not being a valid file. I'm assuming this is a non backwards compatibility issue.
Any way getting Blender to work or restoring Evolution? With regard to Blender (in Natty); I've not tried proprietary drivers for my GPU yet as the open source defaults have always been fine, so that's an option. It means another reinstall (of Natty), but that really isn't such a big deal at this point. With regard to Evolution (in Maverick); I found a ppa but I'm unsure how to proceed once I've added it. Would I do an apt-get update & an apt-get install evolution?
Is there an option in Evolution to return to the Inbox view after you delete a message, rather than going on to the next message? I cannot find it anywhere.Incidentally, this same question is one of the zero-reply questions: URL...I wonder if this means there is no such feature in Evolution and I should submit some kind of "feature request" at their development site.

Both in C.I need to find the total memory usage of these programs. I know of the top command, but when my matrices are relatively small they don't even show up on top because they complete so fast, how can I find the memory usage for these instances?Also, how can I find the total turnaround time of my programs
