Ubuntu :: Setting Evolution Message Filter For New Email?

I have had a search for this problem, but have not found a match: undoubtedly it is so straightforward that no-one has needed to ask it before: I have two accounts in Evolution, work and gmail. I would like my work email (which I check via IMAP) to be copied locally as it comes in so that I can file it properly, but also kept on the server so that I can access through my laptop.
I have set a message filter which does the following:

Stop processing
The filter works (if I apply manually then it goes) AND I have set the preferences to apply filters automatically, but no joy when a new email arrives.
Hi I am running a fedora 10 desktop. when i send an email using evolution the message was not sent but returns a error message:"Error while performing operation.DATA command failedError: 550 Viagra SPAM - Hi in Subject" and the message did not have an attachment just plain words. what might have gone wrong for i have been using this for sometime without a problem. or what security measures should be in place to remove this viagra spamAm I infected by virus on this fedora, all my updates are up to date.
I use 'quoted' style for reply emails. I want to be able to intersperse my replies within a quoted reply i.e. if the email had three paragraphs, I'd like to be able to have my replies between each of the paragraphs. At the moment, I don't seem to be able to do anything other than delete from the quoted section - I try to simulate my requirements by cutting and then 'paste quotation', but this doesn't always work as sometimes Evolution adds too many levels of '> ' .
I had configured the evolution to send/recive email. After it had been configured, it could receive emails. Suddendly it can't fetch email anymore. In the inbox of evolution, there were about 200 emails. There are maybe 5K emails in the server, I guessed. I'm not sure whether it's the problem that there's one email in the server too big, so the evolution can not fetch it. The error of evolution is: error while fetching email. I have a "Forward to" filter set up in Evolution. It halfway works. The emails I want forwarded are matched and put in my Outbox. The problem is that the emails are never sent. I have to manually click the "Send / Receive" button. If left alone, the emails will sit there over the weekend, never sending until I hit Send / Receive.
I have been assigned a task to implement a free open source content filter having feature of web, email, instant messaging etc. If any one has the information or worked on this type of product please share it.
I want a mail server that can work just like MDaemon. The reason is, I want to have an email content filter rule that does some thing like this.
1. If the To Header contains "support@thisdomain" then run a program. What this means is that, there is a program here in the office, and if some one sends an email to the support address, with an attachment of .exe and that person is a customer, then the program should be run. The only thing I need here is if there is a rule or script that can filter email header and run a program.
2. If the Exit Code from a previous 'Run program' rule is in the range of 1 to 100 and if the To Header contains "support@thisdomain" then send note1 "to<email address>" from <$SENDER$" "SUBJECT <AM ...> and delete this message.
3. If the EXIT CODE from a previous 'Run program' rule is =0 and if the TO HEADER contains "support@thisdomain" then send note1 "to<email address>" from <$SENDER$" "SUBJECT <AM ...> and delete this message.
We have MS Exchange email server with postfix/amavis on FreeBSD as proxy for anti-spam and anti-virus. We use our own developed CRM and trying to implement such functionality that when CRM manager send email to CRM client or vice versa through email client like Outlook (no plugins for CRM) this message would be shown in CRM. There is already a solution to parse emails from specific emailbox and show it in CRM.
What I need is to create postfix email filter to check if sender email is in file CRM_managers_emails and recipient email is in file CRM_clients_emails then forward that email to [URL] Filter should check both incoming and outgoing messages. I will auto generate CRM_managers_emails and CRM_clients_email files containing all such emails taken from CRM database. I know i should use something like Postfix After-Queue Content Filter but most of examples are for blocking emails.
I have wiped Windows and am running 10.04 exclusively. 32 bit, when setting up evolution e mail account i dont see where to enter password....where is it? anyone have link with screenshots? i know i can use regular hotmail but want to know how to use default ubuntu programs.
I still can't find a spot for password. options are, login, set preferences and a remember password checkbox but nowhere to enter a password

This will give 3 filefilters ('all files', 'sdf files' and 'xml files') for a fileopen dialog. Exactly as I want (in alphanumerical order), but XML is the default extension and I like SDF to be the default extension. Research has not revealed solutions; the setFileFilter method sets the primary filter. If I swap the sequence in the code, SDF becomes the default (as I want) but the sequence is wrong (All, XML, SDF).
I had to reload from 10.4 to 10.10. On 10.4 I had no problems with the email. Now with 10.10 I cannot get it set up. I use att/yahoo and I set up my pop 3 and stmp setting correct. It will save them but I cannot secure the one with ssh and there is no where in the wizard to store you password. In turn i cannot get my email thru evolution. And the send/recieve button is not highlighted at all. I dumped evolution and then reloaded it but still have the same issue.
I get a lot of email from different yahoogroups, but am having a bit of trouble in one group.
Every so often I'll get a message that is written in rich text and sent from the group's web post feature, but only half of it is displayed. If I check the message source the entire message is there, and if I change Evolutions settings to plain instead of HTML then the entire message is there.
The weird thing is it only seems to be the messages from one particular poster that is being cut off.
It'd be nice if I could stick with HTML and Evolution.
I just upgraded to Maverick yesterday. When I used to compose a new email I was able to add my email signature to it via a little drop down menu in the compose window. Where has it gone? I can't see any way at all to add my signature to my emails.
All my email accounts are internet based. I have quite a few:
2 Gmail accounts - my main one and a more formal one for job searches and resume stuff. 1 Yahoo account for everything else so most spam will go there. 1 University account that I have to use while taking a masters degree program 1 AOL account - a holdout from a long time ago that I hardly ever check.
What would be my reason for using a computer based email system like Evolution or Thunderbird? Could I combine all this accounts to one place? Would I want to? I don't have a job right now so I don't have a work email. I thought it would me nice if I could somehow go to one place to see all these email accounts. I will check it out on my own but I thought I would ask the forum for some wisdom.
I've been running into some difficulty configuring my college email acocunt to Evolution. It should be simple, as that I actually log into Live.com to get to it.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition on my Asus EEEPC and cannot add a new email account to Evolution. I'm using Evolution 2.30.3, and whenever I open "preferences" the window extends below the bottom of my screen. I'm unable to resize or move the window in order to select any of the options below the bottom.I'm sure there is a simple technique to fix this, but it is beyond this newb.
I have Ubuntu 11 up-to-date, on an Asus EEEPC Netbook. I can't configure Evolution, because the screen resolution is small and the window goes beyond the screen, the buttons are not visible. The window cannot be resized.
Evolution asks me for the default keyring everytime I try to access evolution or send a new email now it will not let me type anything into the password field!
Basically, I think my Internet crashed while sending an email via Evolution and now whenever I open Evolution, or try and receive any new email it just sits there sending this email - it reaches 100% so I can only assume it has actually sent the email.
There's a button to "Cancel the current mail operation" though it doesn't appear to be doing anything; the email is still being "sent" each time.
This would be pretty tedious for the guy I sent the email to.
I forgot my email password which was stored in evolution. The gnome wiki says it's in ~/.gnome2_private/Evolution/ but I don't have this directory. does anyone know where the password is stored? I'm using 10.04
My wife uses Evolution for emailing. I have just set up an new email account for her and the strangest thing is happening. When she sends mail, a copy was going to the old Sent folder for her old account. Fine. So I tried Edit->Preferences->Mail Accounts->Edit->Defaults and pointed the sent mail to the Sent folder in the new account.Now she sends a mail and there is no copy going anywhere! It is not being saved in the old Sent folder or the new.Compaq Presario 610, Maverick 10.04.
Ive tried both Evolution and Thunderbird email, and i prefer Thunderbird, and they wont work, they wont retrieve my email from my email account (yahoo email) or even find the password and username right. Plz help, its kinda irritating.Ive also tried out Empathy IM and it wont work finding my facebook chat account, i havent tried it with anything else yet but its just not connecting.It says theres a network problem or the problems coming from facebook.
I've got a problem with my evolution here at work, which is running on a vanilla Ubuntu 10.10 install. Yesterday we received an email from a supplier with some tiff attachments. When this email is clicked on it freezes Evolution. The further problem is that I can't even browse into the inbox folder where it is since that email is the last thing that was highlighted. What is the best method for removing a single email from the Inbox? I thought about into the .evolution/mail folder, but I wasn't sure which files to modify to solve the problem.
I installed Evolution email. Mostly it seems to work fine. But when I click on a URL link in an email I get the error message: Could not open link - no application is registered as handling this file"
Is there a fix for this? Also since I'm new to these forum is there a guide for how best to use them? Is there a way to mark posts as solved or unresolved, etc? For example I searched to see if this error message came up before in the forums and I didn't see anything. So maybe I didn't do it correctly? How do I edit a post after I've already submitted it?
